It's not too much to ask for a little communication. You've got it.
What's too much to ask for is more than the communication you've been given.
BioWare is only at liberty to tell us what we need to know. I wouldn't expect them to tell us anymore than that.
We are paying customers, yes... some of us have even paid for RtO already and aren't able to play it because of this cafuffle. They certainly are more irritated than the average fan. But most people have NOT paid for it yet, and so we are owed nothing. Even the explanations we've been given weren't owed to us.

Anyone that has spent money on points, and is fed up with waiting, I suggest requesting a refund. Otherwise, you've lost nothing, so quit your bellyaching.

Yes I agree.Im not demanding that they tell us things we dont need to know(Im not really demanding anything just suggesting). It just comforts me as a customer to get some updates on how its going.

You might think there would be some some comfort in getting some sort of regular update but if you stop and consider what those updates would bring it might become clear to you why daily updates when there is little or nothing new to report other than the fact that they are working on things are pointless.

They would just encourage more of the same drivel being posted in this thread except now all the whiners would have a new dev post to pick apart and deride and pepper with more questions asking for more details that are not going to be forthcoming and then the folks who understand that such vitriol is uncalled for would in turn deride the deriders and bingo another 177 pages of nonsense is born.

Here's a suggestion for you if you really want updates on this situation - every day come to the forums and click on the bioware logo beneath this or any related thread/topic you seek solid information on - this will take you to all the dev posts made in the thread - you can see if there is anything new from official sources and eliminate browsing through the midden mounds of BS posted by angry children and then simply move on to something more productive for your day than participating in the bashing or defending back and forth that plagues these forums.

Yes I know about the Bioware button and you make a good point. The updates dont have to be daily though, just every few days. I agree with your point but I still prefer a little update rather than silence for a week.Thats just my preference though.

Thanks for a sensible reply and not attacking me its very refreshing to see a post that isnt trying to belittle anyone.

Any more insults such as 'fanboy/fangirl', 'troll', 'retard', etc. and I'm going to hand out vacations.

You can discuss your differences in a civil manner, or you can be prevented from discussing them at all. Your choice.

Savvy?

Thank you, Eurypterid.  How several people (regardless of their stance on Bioware or DLC or the update) are still posting in here somewhat surprises me.  I know you guys can't catch everything, and are hesitant to come down hard on people for one instance - but I hope several people have at least gotten some PM'd warnings.

You have a pretty much thankless job as well.  So let me thank you.

Maybe the insults will at least slow to a trickle for awhile now.

I for one am perfectly content to just wait for the dlc... I mean there are other things to do surely; other games, other parts of your life, catching up on those dozen or so late A level assignments... at the end of the day its the developer's choice when to release it, and when to release information about it. No one 'deserves' anything as such; read your warrantries to see what you'deserve'.

i havent had too many bad experiences with the game, other than the update thing, but even that was solved fairly easily for me, but yes, im hoping things were learned during this that will help awaking come out healthy and strong for all platforms.

Console development has added costs due to royalties that have to be paid to Sony and Microsoft for certification and similar stuff. Ergo, console games cost more and it makes sense.

Unless you think they should split the cost between all platforms and make PC games pay for the certification on consoles.

i see your point, to me PC expansions have always been $30 bucks,, but this is a 360/PS3/PC expansion, so maybe $10 dollars more is not a bad asking price.

Lemme understand. You're advocating the theory that PC gamers should pay more to fund the console version of the game? :o

I really don't know why this thread still has legs anymore. There is nothing else to say about this topic. RtO is NOT out. BIOWARE has stopped answering questions about it because the only questions that get asked are "when will it be out", and the Title Update has it's own individual thread now. The ability to fix the specialization glitch yourself has been told already 10 times, and BIOWARE has made no mention lately about what is up with their own patch that will fix it. All I'm seeing is fighting here. Can't we just lock this thread and get it over with?

I concur. Lock this thread. Any thread on this topic not started by a BioWare rep ought to be ignored.

They already specifically apologized about the delay Abrieal..or did you not read Victor's post?   I love how things like these are entirely ignored because they don't fit with the agenda of browbeating Bioware.

Yet no matter how many times its asked they refuse to comment how an issue with a 360 title update can hold up a PC release. It has nothing to do with browbeating or some sort of agenda Fera, it comes down to the common curtesy of not trying to make your customers out to be idiots who can't piece together simple facts.

The only concrete information we've gotten about the PC release is that the're "working on it" Yet that completely contradicts user reports that not only its it playable on the 360 minus the title update but also on the pc for those that wrong as it is, aquired it through non official channels.

If the PC version has a game breaking bug, ok, say so and I think 99% of those you're labeling whiners and self entitled would be plenty sastified. You may be fine with a vague line that really gives very little to no info actual concrete info, but then again you said yourself you hadn't bought points in the first place.

Ah and here comes Sarah with her two bits...course I am starting to suspect that Abrieal and Sarah are conjoint twins...in other words...probably joined at the head...sharing the same thoughts...

Sorry needed to add a little comedic relief to this thread.  *wink*

Feraele; do you just like seeing your avatar on this forum??  You have posted umteen hundreds os times and have never actually said anything concrete except  totally making lame excuses for EA/BW. Or slamming someone who in all reality have an legitimate reason to complain about LOUSY customer service. What don't you get about people being upset at broken promises? I'm sure that if your husband made a vow to you and then you discovered that he broke it with your best-friend...you would be terribably upset. So please get off your high-horse and use some empathy to realize that people have an legitiment reason to be upset. And this fiasco raises concerns about ME2 because even though it's "2" different teams...it is still the same company releasing it.

Seriously. While I disagree with Feraele's view, comparing DLC to being unfaithful is rather stupid. Also, as noyoki said, this topic has gotten way too out of hand for any hope of salvaging.

Hmmm. Here's a pretty good representation of why this thread, this company, and this very world is going to the crapper quick and readily.

You're right Feraele. You're not special. You're just a consumer. Don't ask for much do you? That's nice. How nice to be nice.

There is no other industry I can think of that'd get away with what BioWare has gotten away with. Video games are a luxury item for people with money to waste, and is given a very loyal and devoted consumer base. And as we've seen, that leeway is taken for granted. If this were a smaller company trying to earn customers, anyone who purchased BioWare Points on January 13th (when BioWare said on this forum that RtO would be ready "later today") would've been offered a refund RIGHT away, and we probably WOULD hear some apologies from the higher-ups. Any other industry, any other product: I wouldn't have to ask for a refund, a refund would be common sense. I wouldn't have to come back again and again to the forums for news: the company would be instead eagerly giving news to me. Imagine ordering a sweater from your favorite major clothing retailer. Imagine ordering parts for your car. Imagine any other tangible product and imagine how it's delay would be handled by the company to you, the customer who has already paid.

But even in this now-utterly-crap industry, Feraele, some business owners don't consider their paying customers to be simply not worth talking to - and whatever the customers may be saying, the owners have the decency and cajones to address their customer directly. Did you not know that?

i don't want to be "that" guy, but its spelled (co)jones, not cajones... cajones is plural for a storage trunk/box, (co)jones means... the, uhm... exactly what you meant.

Image IPB Then we should call them what they are CONGA NUTS!!!!!!! ROTFLMAO

Due to the delay of your DLC i got tempted by something else. I tried to wait...and wait...and wait...but it kept tempting me....so i cheated on you and played Dawn of War....please forgive me
