Relax people...enjoy your families, it's just a video game for Pete's sake!

I swear, you would think people run their lives around these 1's and 0's.

This isn't bad news for me. I'm too tired right now to play it anyways. I think I'll pass out and get some extra sleep, wake up, go to work, come back and play it. I mean it's only an hour.

For those looking to remove the title update, you need to clear your cache (this will remove ALL updates for ALL games, so YES you will be prompted to download whatever updates over again for whatever games you play.... I just did this myself and have done it several times):

Go to System, then Memory... then move to Hard Drive and hit Y for Device Options... then choose the last one in the list which is "Clear System Cache", select "Yes" when prompted and you are done (this is for those with the NXE Dashboard... which should be practically everyone).

If for some reason you have the old XBox 360 Dashboard.... do the same thing, only when you hit Y on the Hard Drive.. you will need to then enter the following button sequence: x, x, LB, RB, x, x and clear the system cache.

Hope that helps those looking to clear out their updates (no you can't pick and choose which one).... but I'd prefer to keep my game saves clean until Bioware is able to resolve the issue which probably won't be too long anyway.

Okay, so I was able to download and play RtO fine, but I just noticed all the specializations I unlocked are locked again. I assume this has something to do with RtO being released early or some such things.

So for the people who already downloaded it, should we delete it entirely or just wait for a patch to fix this stuff?

It's a known bug that they're working on patching.

I love Bioware, but how do these game-breaking bugs keep making it through so late in development? Granted, I'm an engineer, not a scientist, but one would think these things should not be so hard to diagnose ahead of time.

This entire thing is bordering on ridiculous at this point. Saw the threads this morning and thought maybe I'd have some RtO action on PC when I got home... NOPE! -.-

I will be honest. While I'm sympathetic towards Bioware for all the problems they're going through, as a PC user i'm very, VERY miffed.

As a multi-platform (PC, Xbox360, PS3 and Wii) gamer I've been tired for years of Microsoft's screwups and "aggressive marketing" in the gaming market that only managed to damage the gamers as a whole (exclusive DLC crap, platform-exclusive games turning into multiplatforms with a general lowering in quality and all that).

Now, microsoft has pulled out another of their screwups and I really hope PC and PS3 owners won't have to suffer a further delay because Bioware might decide that solving the 360 issue is a priority over releasing RTO on other platforms to please Microsoft and have a "simultaneous release".
Personally I think now the priority should be getting RTO released on PC and PS3, since obviously from what Bioware stated through the day, the issue doesn't affect other platforms.

Also, as a customer that, due to Bioware announcement today, already bought the points and basicaly paid to RtO without anything to show for it, I would really appreciate (IE: really, really), an official announcement that lets us know the exact release date for the PC version of Return to Ostagar, and i'm really hopeful that such release will not be beyond tomorrow, January the 14th.
We waited enough, and at least I, would not be happy at all to wait because of the usual guy at microsoft that puls a trigger when he's not supposed to (it's not the first time that it happens).
I'm sorry, but "we will post an announcement when we have further info" doesn't cut it anymore. At least not for me.

I'm truly sorry if this post sounds demanding, and if you look at my previous posts, I have been so far nothing short than supportive during this whole ordeal. But too much is too much. I'm tired and I've been led to believe that the content was to be released today, and paid my dues. Please communicate with us and don't disappoint us further. I'm sure everyone is sympathetic with the xbox360 userbase, but there's absolutely no logical reason for a localized issue on their system to withold the product for everyone of us.

I could understand such a bug getting through Bioware's internal testing but not only did Microsoft **** up and release the content early but apparently they missed a major bug in their own QA process.

Shame so many balls are being dropped, hopefully we'll still be seeing the PC version soon. (Although I can understand wanting to delay it for a simultaneous release)

I dont think Microsoft QA checks for game bugs, they are only interested in making sure everything released on live doesnt break live or x-boxes. Looking for game bugs is the developers job :bandit:

So does this mean that you won't be releasing the PC DLC today?

Well I'd rather wait and get a polished product rather than some glitch-ridden dlc now.

Besides, I got Bayonetta and Army of Two: The 40th Day to play right now.

Abriael I agree, however they probably have signed agreements about release dates that force the developer to do it simultaneously. It is not M$'s fault that the developer has problems with the platform, therefore the dev has nowhere to back up releasing on other platforms.

They might sort something out if they renegotiate, but I doubt what is "fair" to the users of other platforms will be the end result. :(

There are people who are overreacting, but for those of us who care about PC Gaming - the industry as a whole - IMO this situation just crossed a line where I'm not quite as ready to let it slide as I was in December. ESPECIALLY if this has anything to do with any console release.
And from a professional perspective, Bioware hasn't done anything right with this release. I still respect them greatly, but these things SHOULD NOT happen (at least, not multiple times) if people adhere to the standards of their profession.

Being an engineer, you work with hardware which normally has some sort of visual identifier that lets you know when something isn't going right. With programming, it's more complicated than that. There are plenty of errors that can go unnoticed well after release, such is the problem with programming. You can input a line of code that the software can read perfectly well, but does the exact opposite of what you intended, and you may not notice it until a customer is calling complaining because their timed oven confuses 5 minutes for 50. I imagine such is the case here. A user-created glitch in the code that created potentially game-breaking bugs, like the bug that was found on the 360. Best we can do is wait until the developers fix it, and are content with the quality of their product. I trust their judgment well above Microsoft's marketing team.

If I had to guess, identifying the source of a game breaking bug is a little higher priority than satiating you.

Quite right, but people want what they want when they want it and they are OWED that right? I mean I know I can't stand when things don't go EXACTLY how I want them to, that is not how the world works... EVERYTHING is supposed to go the way we want right? (hope people catch the sarcasm there...)
