That's pretty much it. The specs lock no matter what. Unlock them again, turn your console off, they are locked once more. Does there need to be anything else?

Sorry folks. Until we get the information straight for all versions, I am not going to piece-meal out bits and bots. I know you are all waiting on updates for all 3 platforms and when I can confirm things for you, I will.
It seems to infuriate some of you that I post here without giving you details, and I am sorry for that too. I want you to know that we have not forgotten about you or these issues. We are working on things and will update you as soon as we have details. While it is not yet enough information, I believe it is better to know we are still listening and working rather than being ignored and left in the dark.
Outsourcing DLC development for ME was already a mistake than got now repeated for DAO.
One hand doesn't know what the other is doing and other are to busy to get into the orginial code to proper do the DLC. The orginial DAO team should have done the DLC too instead moving on the next project, like the ME team should have done the DLC and patches instead going straight after ME2.

I don't understand by spec issues? Mine seemed to work fine. What exactly do you mean?
After you've patched the game, shut the console down. The turn on again and your specs will all be locked. What's more, unlocking them again is impossible. You can do it temporarily, but the moment you turn the console off again, your specs lock. Now with no way to re-re-unlock them.

I keep thinking Jeremy Beadle is going to show up from the grave to tell us it has been one big joke.
Non constructive I know, but true all the same.

From the way things have been going I wouldn't be surprised. Massive **** up, if it isn't out before the 26th I definitely won't be buying it as i'm sure alot of other people won't.

This is beyond a joke now. If you were in an actual retail outlet, U'd demand to speak to the manager. All these lies, and they are lies, are beyond a joke. Where the hell is the DLC, that we've PAID FOR? C'mon, it's not as though there's anything else we can spend it on! We should DEMAND honesty and courtesy. Give us the damn download NOW
Yeah that's going to get you somewhere.
Seriously though... delayed twice and halfway released/announced for PC, then recalled... c'mon, Bioware. :/

I think they've got their hands filled with the 360 port right now. Since, ya know, it broke the game and everything. I sympathize that your version is delayed, but at least you can still play what you've already paid for. Me, I have a shiny 60 dollar game and about 10 bucks of DLC that right now cannot be touched due to bug issues.

Can anyone explain in some sort of detail the issue they're having? I downloaded the DLC and the title update yesterday afternoon, and then completed the DLC with my lvl 12-13 Mage (spec. Arcane Warrior). I added a point to her spec after completing the DLC. I also added points to Champion for Oghren (during the mid-battle battle at the Battle of Denerim .... battle battle battle).
Is it "locking" specs that the specific character you're playing hasn't unlocked? Is it "locking" specs from being added? Is it "locking" allocation of points to your spec? Is it "locking" your ability to unlock new specializations?
Aside from the first xbox crash I've experienced since Fallout 3, everything seemed to be working for me.

You misread what I said.
When I said "halfway released", that was aimed towards the 360. So, I was encompassing your platform's woes into the generalized statement. Believe me, if I were on that system with this game, I'd be pretty mad. But, I'm not.
I'm fully aware of what the DLC has done to the 360 game. The point of my comment is that with everything that has happened, there should be some sort of reparation or something, whether it be Bioware actually explaining what has happened with this DLC over the last few weeks, refunding Bioware points for PC users who bought them prematurely (seeing as it was announced to be released yesterday, I know I'm not the only one who forked over five dollars over it), etc.

You've not paid for RtO. You've paid for a quantity of BioWare/MS points with intent to purchase RtO. The best other analogy is buying a gift card for someone in a store so they can buy a certain product, but the product is delayed.
At no point have you signed a contract saying BioWare must supply you with RtO, unless you're on the 360 and have already paid for it. There's a few cases of PC users buying RtO but they're few and far between.

This morning I boot up the game to play with my level 11 rogue. I go to level up and I notice that all my specilizations have been locked. Strange, think I. So I try to re-learn a few. I get Al to teach templar training, Morrigan to teach shapeshifter, and think, I'm back in business. Maybe this is what BioWare wanted, for us to have learn the specs with each playthrough. Shut down the console again. Restart it, and everything I unlocked a few hours ago is locked again. And now, Al thinks he's taught me the templar spec, so there's no re-learning. Broken.
