I guess you won't be buying RtO after it comes out then. Cuz that's the only way to show your true displeasure. Ranting on a message board means nothing if you are still going to buy it anyway.Abriael_CG wrote...

To put it down simply, after all the screwups, that go way beyond the usual in this kind of market (expecially due to the circumstances, all the delays have been announced at the very last moment for instance, or beyond the last moment, actually)I think we're entitled to a better and more complete communication on their plans and schedules.

RTO isn't the big deal here, that they released a patch that can't be removed in any easy way and breaks the game is.

Love the way you take his quote out of context. He was talking about the debacle surrounding the lack of communication, which proves my point.
my statement stands. code or give it a break.
I code for a living. I STILL have to give constant updates to the hospitals I am helping. Other game companies (like Blizzard, Turbine, etc) keep users as up-to-date as possible by informing the moderators, even if the programmers may or may not have time to post themselves. Try again.
Your whole "oh you are wrong because they won't have time to post while coding" crap is wrong and is a poor wave-off of people being annoyed at this. Even if the programmers don't post, they can send a quick, two or three sentence email to the moderators here to let people know what's going on. One email that short takes two or three minutes, then they can go back to work.
Again, start reading the posts you are criticizing.... and if you're going to quote someone, don't take it out of context.

Ooh, yes, I get what you're implying, mon ami. 'Someone' who was a friend of 'Anyone' told me that the colourless green idea sleeps furiously. Make of that what you will.
Seriously, I've no idea. If I had, I wouldn't be hanging round here waiting making stupid comments.
From a personal perspective, I really wouldn't mind it if Bioware released a bugged RtO for the PC, as long as it was still playable and the right conversation scripts were firing. Which would be more that I could say for my DAO epilogue. I'm fed up of avoiding the RtO spoilers from the XBox and leaked versions - and since I've paid for my four hundred points, I'd like to get my money's worth by playing it through fresh without knowing half the details in advance. Yeah, grouching, I know. Bioware's got to do what's right for them, which in this case is releasing a DLC that doesn't feck up their players' games.

Just a friendly suggestion.
apparently you didnt see that i and my family play bother versions,
we got nailed with the xbox glitch and also got denied the pc version release.
legitimate claims?
yeah ok.
again, what is needed?
" damn it i want my dl content for pc!, i want my locked specs unlocked again so i dont have to start over!"
bam, must be fixed now
combined we have over 500 hours invested in bother versions.
again, its not as if im enjoying this in any way, neither are they.
but come on, is it helping to point out ever little delay or issue?
has it gotten you ANY satisfaction?
it is what it is, happened the way it happened.
i dled the RTO content minutes after it hit live market a day early.
ran in with my rogue and had a blast, just to switch to my arcane warrior i had started 3 days earlier, just to see it all gone spec wise.
wasnt pleasant at all.
ranting at chris or any other site people isnt going to get it fixed faster.
why is that so hard to get?

Well I am stoned and very buff but I do not understand what that has anything to do with this conversation... or does it? Maybe I should go up to Canada and hulk smash my way thru to the BW offices.

Being a professional doesn't just mean to beable to "do the job". there are a ton of people that can "do the job" but are unemployed. It also means being able to gauge your resources and workload in order to establish deadlines that you won't need to break. Of course you will never be able to meet ALL deadlines, but you can still get as close as possible. I don't see that happening here.
Also, when you can't meet a deadline, smug answers like "There's no ETA, it's ready when it's ready" don't really show much respect for the "damaged" party (IE: the ones that were waiting for the project/product and didn't get it on time). You go back to the drawing board, do whatever you can to gauge the real deadline correctly, and to meet it. Not giving further deadlines is the easy way out. Is it the professional or ethical way out? Not really.

Tymay - Unfortunately I had already played my game and saved it before I found out that the specializations bug existed so it's likely too late for that to work for me. Thanks for posting the code though. I'll give it a shot later with my fingers crossed and hope it works after all.
Well maybe not all is lost, if you have no trouble going back to your last save prior to the update, then you might be ok. But as i suggested before: The specializations are linked to your EA account so i don't even know if it matters which save you use

From what I've read the people who did get a chance to play through it didn't have any problems at all, which makes this kind of weird that they haven't said a thing about the PC version
Especially since I already paid for my 400 points

Work is work, whether you work for hospitals or for another kind of customer base, respect for the customer that pays your groceries should always be the first concern. Now, I don't know about you, but in my eyes "there's no deadline, we'll update whenever we want" is not exactly a respectful way to deal with paying customers, expecially after three consecutive delays.
Of course you're free to disagree, but that's my work ethics.

Since you did not play, try deleting your cache
(I am reposting the directions, because i know there are some people who only like to read the last page...Im sometimes one of them)
On the dashboard go to the "Home" tab and scroll over to "System Settings"
Find the "Memory" button and click on it.
Choose the location where your updates are downloaded to (most likely your hard drive)
Press "Y" for "Drive Options"
Enter
the following code : X, X, LB, RB, X, X. The following message should
appear: "Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage
devices?"
Select "Yes"
After it is done, restart your Xbox
Note:
This will erase ALL Title Updates for every game, so you will have to
download every TU again for all games (which really isnt a bad thing
just an FYI)
Again this might not (most likely) fix anything if you've already downloaded the update and played. But if you haven't already played then i see no reason why it wouldn't work
I hope this helps../../../images/forum/emoticons/angel.png

Your specializations won't "disappear", they will, however, show as locked when you need to select a new one at level 7 and 14. If you're already beyond level 14 you shouldn't be affected until you play a character under that level.

do i sound to you like a "recent gamer"?
my first system was the odyssey master command console, been gaming since then.
ive been done wrong by companies same as anyone else.
hell i spent years on psu, after being a rabid pso fan.
watched the japanese servers get more than a year and a half ahead of us in updates, item, character class changes/enhancements.
my solution? stop paying them and playing their games, not ranting like a spoiled brat.
thats simply one example.
again, im not saying im happy about all this, nor should you or anyone else be.
but its not helping nor doing a damn thing but keeping the rant going.
it will be fixed when its fixed, things take time.
and to put it into context, you code, send your message to one client that issues that message and done.
do you have to code, go through your company, which in turn goes through another company that then has to test your code, match and compare it to theirs, test it for compatability, message back with issues, have you fix it then resubmit it again to test and so on?
doesnt sound like it.
im quite aware of "consumer/company relations"
i also have the understanding and patient to see both sides of said coin and how it can fall and need to be fixed.
if chris had info, you would have it.
he doesnt so you dont.
hard?

Ok, not once have I 'moaned' about this issue. strike one there, get your facts right. second, what is there to get or not to get?
If there is something to 'not get' then its yourself who indeed does not get it, as I said (and you quoted, thus proving others correct that you have a selctive reading problem) that if something is screwed up beyond comprehension, and that in turn causes peoples games/saves etc to be messed up..
they have a LEGITIMATE claim to be upset, and wow guess what, come here and moan about it. Now again, if you can't handle that and want to act all pious to eveyone who does want to get some rage pff their chests, again, I suggest you stay out of this thread, otherwise you might be in danger of braking your keyboard, as your currently outnumbered in your opinion by avast number.
Again, Im not moaning at whats happened, why beef is with people moaning without reeason at those who do have good reason.
My PC is currently dead, so Im actually quite happy its still not right personally...

When you go to level up, the specializations you've unlocked have the locks back on them. I didn't notice until after I'd played through RTO and then switched characters. When that character leveled up all the specializations were locked. Maybe you got lucky and didn't get it, but a lot of us did.
