I had my last day playing Dragon Age today. I was on early yesterday and was greeted with a patch. I checked the forums and found out that the patch was related to the new DLC (which was also available). Cool, right? So I continued on with my game, cleared out the final pieces of my quests and headed to bed. When I awoke today I was in a hurry to finish my playthrough as I had gone everywhere possible and was eager to see my Traveler achievement unlock. Sadly it did not.

So I came onto the forums to see what I could do. Low and behold I come across this thread. So I reload my game and, sure enough, all of my specializations are again locked. Needless to say I came across two bugs while trying to finish Something Wicked so at this point I have nothing left to give. My patience is gone and I do not feel like investing another my time into another playthrough to unlock the specializations again and attempt to unlock the final achievement.  What's worse is that I would be forced to play a Mage again due to how one specialization in particular unlocks.

Hopefully Mass Effect 2 has better luck but this is getting downright pathetic with the number of issues in Dragon Age that have yet to be patched (at least on the 360). RIP Dragon Age, you were a 7 out of 10 at best.

Buy it for PC already.  If we all convert to PC, console updates will get shelved, and everything will be out on time!

You know, Dragon Age has always struck me as a nuisance to Bioware, it took longer to develop than anticipated, they gave you something that can be used in Mass Effect 2, the ending can be glitchy too (can't spoil anything, just trust me) and it seems overall their real baby is Mass Effect 2.



I doubt they expected Dragon Age to do as well as it did, plus given EAs track record, they don't really care if games are finished or not anyway, they just like them bringing the money in as soon as possible.



In general though, they shouldn't really bother with all at once multiplatform releases, as it gives them too much to do at once, different platforms have different problems it seems, and the division just increases the time it takes to find and kill the pesky bugs.

The 360 release was unexpected, as Chris mentioned here: http://social.biowar...604603/1#604603

That post of his also says that they were planning to release the PC version later that day, with the PS3 version to follow.  Then they found the bug that he mentioned in the OP of this thread and pulled it from XBox Live while delaying any release of the DLC.  That enough of an explanation?

Thanks that answers it. But whats wrong with the pc version i wonder? any longer and i think people will just say to the hell with it and turn their attention to mass effect 2.

Are they going to re-release the patch and the DLC once the patch itself is fixed or are they going to hold it for when they make a fix for those already affected? Because if it's the latter, it'll take a lot more time.
