Well, we just don't know about whether there are any problems. Although Sony were blamed on the 5th of Jan (by gamers not BW) for the release date being pulled. Whether there was any truth in Sony putting Big Brother pressure on will never be known as BW would never say such a thing.

Mmmh if sony had any real pull on Bioware, there'd be a Mass Effect 2 on PS3 :D Knowing their policies, they probably can't care the less about DA:O's DLCs

I am probably going to get flamed for this, at this point I don't even care.

I finally logged in to check if I had the bug and of course I do, and this lack of anything being done or information from Bioware is a level of incompetence that is unacceptable to paying customers. The fact that it has been delayed till now is proof enough, but tack on a bug that makes the game unplayable is unacceptable. If these programmers worked in any other profession and made mistakes like this they would be fired almost instantly. You can take this as a pissed off gamer who is fueling a nerd rage if you all want, I just believe that we should not be as lenient with these programmers as we have.

*sigh* Chris Priestly has said repeatedly that BW is aware of the issue and is working to fix it. Yes, his posts are buried in 56 pages of thread, so knowing that he said it if you haven't been following the thread would be difficult.

Because the real intention is to release them all at once. Its a win-win for all platforms.  They just want to make it look like one platform is gonna get it first. :bandit::whistle:

Isn't that a win for the platform that was going to get it last and a lose for players on other platforms that would have gotten it sooner?

I notice the official Twitter feed doesn't say anything helpful. just "Return to Ostagar is NOW available for Xbox 360. It will be coming later today for PC users and soon for the PS3. Check Xbox Live 4 details."

Jackasses

Coming from guys who still havent updated their main website about the delay.

Getting to developer posts is easy. You just click on the "bioware" tag under the thread title and "enchantment!"

The problem is when the developer posts don't include any kind of real information.

Is RTO "safe" to play for those who bought it from the Marketplace yesterday, but didn't install the title update?

As I said before; the PC version probably has the same bug.

lol, I didn't really ask what you said before. I asked if I missed a post from Bioware about why the PC version is delayed or why they failed to keep a promise once again. I don't mean to take a tone with you but that didn't answer my question at all. lol.

Probably true. I wassurprised that DA but not ME2 were released on PS3. If anything, I would thought it would be the other way around.

i'm not too fussed about the wait at this stage, although my game ain't broke so I do sympathise with 360 users. While I am considering ME2 it is mainly because I have the blood dragon armour (I know, stupid reason) but after they nerfed it on the pc version I am not sure it is worth it.

Except he did. He clearly said they are working on the problem. I am well aware the only information you will accept is a release date for RTO, but just because you refuse to accept reality doesn't mean Chris isn't answering.

If BW was truely ignoring the issue and not updating, we would not have seen Chris at all. Would you rather they wait until they have a firm answer, leaving everyone wondering if they are doing anything at all, or tell us "we're working on it and will give you an answer once we know something" and let everyone know the situation IS being addressed?

So far we know very little as to why the pc version is delayed again. And I can't recall chris commenting on it.

Well it appears they weren't really ready to release any platform dlc. MS made a mistake by putting the date as 2009, not 2010, so it was deployed straight away. They are now probably working to ensure that they fix the game for 360 users as the main priority which, IMO, is fair enough.

What I don't understand is I haven't seen any pc users who obtained the dlc by illegal means complaining about the specialization bug; which indicates there is nothing wrong with the dlc but with the MS title update.

So, 'potentially' it is possible they could appease pc users by making the dlc available. However 360 users would possibly just see that as them being ignored and would become more enraged. So I guess BW's thoughts are that the best outcome is to have everyone wait so no one feels they are getting special/worse service?

It's not related to RTO, because even people who didn't get RTO got hit with the glitch, and RTO is playable without glitching after clearing the cache. Maybe there is another reason the PC version hasn't been released. *shrug*

It's probably more legal than that, they could well have a contract with Microsoft specifying simultaneous release dates for all content on PC/360. Then it could be polished up to a diamond sheen on the PC but they still couldn't release it until the 360 version is ready to go, and firms don't normally go into the details of business contracts in public so they couldn't tell us even if they wanted to.

Yeah although just argue ms breached contract first

I would have thought they would want pc users to get it first. better guinea pigs and with a long history of pc support it might be easier to diagnose issues

Sorry but "we are working on it" without any real detail on why, how or when doesn't really cut it. It's as informative as "good morning, it's 10 AM, have a nice day".
Of course they "are working on it", it would be downright unforgivable if they weren't.

The problem is that after three delays and the utter lack of communication, we deserve to have a little more insight on when our money will actually net us the content that we purchased.

"Answering" is great, but just a tad useless if the answers don't include actual information beyond the absolutely obvious.
It's really that simple.

It takes all this to release a one hour DLC, do you really think this expansion is going to happen in 2010?

Say what you want, I'll believe it when I see it and I don't think we'll be seeing it any time remotely soon.

Thank god real life still has some interesting things to do. I'm going fishing! :)

Alright, so Ive begun to understand how both parties feel, the people who are all for defending Bioware and the people who are adamantly against them, im somewhere in the middle, I want to see RTO for my platform but id also like it not to screw up my game like it seems to have done for some people, but I also wonder what they mean by..."we are working on it" ..however I am not so nearly angry at Bioware, I know they cant very well spend all there time here answering on the Forums if there trying to do what everyone is yelling at them to do and that is of course, getting out RTO, Patience is a virtue my brothers and sisters in Games.. of course Its not one of mine either so what am I preaching.

Chris, are there any reports of the title update or RtO effecting the other 2 DLCs? I have all 3 DLC packages, and I went to Warden's Keep with a new character before going to Osatagar. I killed the Rage Demon boss on the 2nd floor, and door to the shrine that is supposed to open after you kill him remained locked. The 3 skeletons in the room were even trying to fight me through the door, but it would not open even after I (somehow) killed them. I reloaded the save several times with the same result. Is this related to the title update and/or RtO, or is this a separate issue?

I find it both funny and sad that this thread is mostly filled with people complaining about the DLC not being out. I think the larger issue here is that when it did come out, it broke the game. Seriously. I understand frustrations that people have over wanting to play content. But I can't even play the game at all right now because I installed the buggy patch and RtO. I'm not alone, either. I think right now BioWare's probably going to be working on a fix for those of us who effectively bought $60 paperweights. When it's resolved, I'm sure DLC will be back out.
