I think right now BioWare's probably going to be working on a fix for those of us who effectively bought $60 paperweights. When it's resolved, I'm sure DLC will be back out.

And that's part of the problem, given that Bioware very vocally reassured us in multiple occasions that the fact that the game was to be released on consoles as well wouldn't have affected the development of the PC version. At the moment many of us are waiting for them to stick to their words.

Yes.  Bioware has more time with the expansion and they are going to learn from the madness that is RtO.

Have some faith man!  They're grown up pros, they'll only get better.

Yes, but can they fix the broken games first? And then complain about timely releases? *sigh* It seems like more people are upset over delays (which are annoying, but not crippling) than they are over the fact that the game's broken for a TON of people right now.

Say what you want, I'll believe it when I see it and I don't think we'll be seeing it any time remotely soon.

Thank god real life still has some interesting things to do. I'm going fishing! :)

Well a little more info on whats occurring might be nice, I'm just not expecting that to be fulfilled..at least not right away.

Still think if they are going to give us release dates, they should perhaps pad that with a "not written in stone" comment,  so if things go awry, masses of people aren't going to be breathing down their necks over something that just needs time for fixing or more developpment.

The predicament of the console players definitely should be worked on ...if they are not already doing that, and I am not one to assume that Bioware is not already attempting to remedy this.

Other than that, I'm a PC user, didn't prebuy points for downloading this current dlc, therefore have no anxiety or immediate concerns that need tending to.....delays happen..thats life.

I'm sympathetic towards the problems the xbox 360 userbase is facing, but at the same time i'm not fond of broken promises. When you add lack of information on top of it as the icing on the dynamite filled cake, the mix gets pretty volatile for my quite strained patience.

They have two options:
-Fix the 360 version (which encompasses a whole new playtesting session, that will probably be extensive, timing-wise) and THEN release both versions at the same time -> everyone waits
-Release the PC version ASAP and then concentrate on fixing the issue -> just part of the userbase waits.

None leads to a perfect solution, that doesn't exist, but which one i think is the lesser evil is quite evident.

Of course it's possible that the PC version has some issues of it's own. Fair enough. It only takes saying so, clearly for once, and possibly giving us a fair approximate ETA for when we can see our money's worth installed on our computers.

The only bright side to this, is that this forum is keeping me company and awake while I work... and given that I've been working for the last 23 hours (that's what I often do to actually meet the deadlines I set with my clients, yanno ), I definitrely need it.

Why do PC fans have to get stuck waiting for the consoles to catch up! lol. Did I miss anything while in the Deep Roads? Any statement on why a 360 bug delays the PC version?

As I said before; the PC version probably has the same bug.

lol, I didn't really ask what you said before. I asked if I missed a post from Bioware about why the PC version is delayed or why they failed to keep a promise once again. I don't mean to take a tone with you but that didn't answer my question at all. lol.

So far we know very little as to why the pc version is delayed again. And I can't recall chris commenting on it.

Lame!!! but thanks for the response. Just keep bouncing back & forth between forums & DA:O

Are we honestly supposed to expect that the expansion is going to be available on its "official" release date? (that being 03/16/10) Bioware is sure building quite a track record for itself with all of these delays.

I would like someone to give me a compelling argument why myself, or anyone else would feel compelled to pre-order it.

Wait are you talking just consoles? I know 360 has major issues with what sounds to be random corrupted saves, correct? The PS3 probably would have less issue if they didn't get so much pressure from EA & fans(I assume) & rushed the PS3 launch for Nov. 3rd. Just saying according to many developers the PS3 is hard to work with & program...it just takes more time. I still don't think it is fair for anyone to have to wait for each other. If 360 is done first so be it! Or PS3, PC what ever but just release it!!! They shouldn't hold it to release all at once.
Anyways back to the topic. lol. Sorry for my rant. I asked b/c I am not aware of any game-breaking issues so to say for the PC version. I have both patches & 8 mods or more with smooth gameplay aside from terrible memory leaks that slow down loads times to a crawl :(

I have high hopes! I fully paid it off the day it was announced. I am hoping just everything that could of went wrong with RTO has & the Maker is punishing them for making us PC fans wait for consoles to launch :( I could be wrong but hopefully they pulled more guys on the project or revised the layout for the schedule of Awakening & we will see it on 3/16/10 probably no bug free but as long as there is no game-breaking issue I will be very happy!!!!!

I thought the same thing, you know they'll offer pre-order bonus content. You're very predictable bioware.

It's a good thing Nexus mods are keeping my interest alive.

I still luv yah bioware, you guys just suck at DLC. Heck no one is perfect. :wizard:

Can we please just forget about this download already? It seems it's nothing but bad news with RtO. Let's just move on to Awakening. But, just make sure it works. Please.

Except he did. He clearly said they are working on the problem. I am well aware the only information you will accept is a release date for RTO, but just because you refuse to accept reality doesn't mean Chris isn't answering.

Sorry but "we are working on it" without any real detail on why, how or when

You are under the impression that anyone knows any of that. It isn't as if BW can wave a magic wand and have all the code work exactly as they planned. I suspect no one at BW intended to put out a patch that glitched every 360 players game, but that is exactly what happened. Given that recent debacle, esp when no one seems to know why it happened, it makes sense to go over everything with a fine-toothed comb to make sure nothing like that happens when they release RTO. Sure, the glitch isn't related to RTO on the 360, but that doesn't mean there isn't another glitch in RTO that was hidden because of the other glitch.

The problem is that after three delays and the utter lack of communication,

An "utter lack of communication" would be if no one from BW was coming here at all with any information. That is not the case.

we deserve to have a little more insight on when our money will actually net us the content that we purchased.

But you don't care about 360 owners whose games are already borked, so long as YOU get what YOU want. 360 owners bought their games and lost all the time they put into unlocking specs, and you are concerned because you are having to wait a little bit for a $5, 1 hour DLC? Grow up!

You're not the only one! :o    I mean considering how many gruesome deaths are shown in this game of women & children...I doubt Duncan is dead. bioware didn't confirm his death in the ign interview plus he is the only character I can recall from the game that the creens blacks out. I mean they showed our King die but not Duncan, nope! Sorry but something is going on with Duncan & if not they failed horribly with the blacking out of the screen right before hand.

  *SPOILER ALERT*

plus his body is not found in RTO just his weapons

In fact I see no information beyond the absolutely obvious.
"we are working on it" isn't information. It's a given.

Ahah, the old "grow up" catchphrase used when one lacks arguments. I don't remember bioware promising "the PC release won't affect the  console ones", but I sure do remember them telling in multiple occasions that the console versions would have not affected the PC one. Sorry if i "don't care", but I'm just waiting for them to stick to their word.

PC gamers are always the ones that have to wait (even several months) when they want to play games that are normally considered "console territory" (adventures, third person shooters and a growing number of other genres). With Dragon Age console gamers stepped into "PC territory", it's only fair that they're the ones to wait, for once.

I know PC users are complaining about not getting the DLC, XBOX users are complaining about the game being broken and PS3 users are just waiting last in line. Look at the bright side atleast Bioare didn't make Dragon Age for the Wii.
