Bioware,
I am not going to sit here and complain, threaten or try to cajoule you into releasing content. However I did want to say the following.
I am dissapointed in Bioware. The way this entire thing has been handled has been, to say the very least, a very poor customer experience. I actually find myself regretting my pre-order of Mass Effect 2. I have lost faith in your Brand, your Customer Service and worst of all your direction as a company. It is my hope that as a company you learn from this experience. The experience internally, the experience externally, and most of all the experience of the managment involved in this. It is my sincere hope that this does not continue in future endevours. I work in an industry of code and systems, and I understand the difficulties that can/will occur. I believe all of us in these industries understand the importance of setting expectations, meeting goals, and providing a superior customer experience. In this instance you have failed at all of these things. I do however remember several instances where you have excelled at these same principles. I do hope this incident will prove to be the exception not the rule. Thanks for all the great games and hours of enjoyment, may you fair better in future quests!

Are we honestly supposed to expect that the expansion is going to be available on its "official" release date? (that being 03/16/10) Bioware is sure building quite a track record for itself with all of these delays.
I would like someone to give me a compelling argument why myself, or anyone else would feel compelled to pre-order it.
Why would I waste my time trying to convince you to buy the game? Either you like it and want to continue the story, or you don't. Not really much to add. I'd probably prefer you didn't actually. One less person whining on the forums.

Does anyone know if I get rid of the update, will my classes be unlocked or will i need to get them all again, if so when I get them will i be able to keep them.
Just from my experience, I've tried to unlock them again, but they've just relocked when you level up again. Tried this with Arcane Warrior specialization only though. And from what people have said before this bug doesn't only happen at levels 7 and 14, it seems to happen regardless of level. Honestly I've just given up and am going to put the game aside for a while, but good luck to you.

I encouraged the public hanging of Chris.
Wish granted. Glad to see someone with an understanding of how things work in the real world.
EDIT: Whoops, I was just giving him what he asked for. I ACTUALLY support him.
One of the only reasons why I keep reading on this forum is that he tends to ground conversations. If only people would stop mistaking him for some random E-loser man-child.
He has a good understanding of PR.

Hopefully I'll wake up to some finally informative post from bioware. I'm not holding my breath, but hope is all we have left at the moment.
PS: Before someone gets the wrong idea, I didn't write the content of the above post. I encourage the public hanging of the ones that are forcing chris to withold information, instead.

Talk about a fiasco: First it's delayed for a week in order to fix a minor glitch; then it's released with a major glitch. Come on Bioware! If you're going to delay the DLC under the pretense of giving us the best quality product, then at least do enough play testing to ensure that a glitch of this magnitude does not come packaged with it.

So how exactly do you delete the cache update thingy on the xbox so I can still play it?
Go to system settings, memory, highlight your storage device, hit y for device options and there should be a clear cache option.

Perhaps a proper fix could come later. But I think this bit of "cheating" is justifiable for most of us. I shouldn't have to wait days for a proper fix to an error that was caused by what appeared to be a run-of-the-mill title update.

Yes all specializations were removed, however I have just now found ONE workaround to get a few of them back. If you have multiple profiles, any profile that you used to unlock a particular specialization will no longer be able to do so again in any way. However, a DIFFERENT profile, even one that HAD the specialization unlocked and was using it on a character but was NOT actually used to unlock it in the first place CAN be used to unlock specializations again. I am not sure how much this can be exploited...I just used it to re-unlock my Bezerker and Assassin specializations on a second profile that I had completed the game with using Oghren and Zevran's dialog options. I still don't seem to be able to purchase any manuals though, so those seem to be gone for good. I don't have Alistair or Morrigan in my camp anymore so I can't test those, and Leliana doesn't seem to want to teach me to be a bard again but that may be because I am in a relationship with her. Go forth and re-unlock, my friends! At least until they put in a legit fix. (Xbox 360 confirmed only)

guys, seriously give bioware a break, do you have any idea how difficult it would be to release a product on three separate platforms simultaneously...
Do they deserve a break? Chris Priestley posted immediately that the PC version will be coming out shortly on January 13, 2010 after the xbox version went live unexpectedly but decided to yanked it yet again for the third time after finding out new issues ergo the PC version (windows) is ready and is just waiting there lying cozy until xbox (windows) is certified for simultaneous release.

Except he did. He clearly said they are working on the problem. I am well aware the only information you will accept is a release date for RTO, but just because you refuse to accept reality doesn't mean Chris isn't answering.
Sorry but "we are working on it" without any real detail on why, how or when doesn't really cut it. It's as informative as "good morning, it's 10 AM, have a nice day".
Of course they "are working on it", it would be downright unforgivable if they weren't.
The problem is that after three delays and the utter lack of communication, we deserve to have a little more insight on when our money will actually net us the content that we purchased.
"Answering" is great, but just a tad useless if the answers don't include actual information beyond the absolutely obvious.
It's really that simple.
You rather he told u the DLC was coming out later in the day and then deleting the post later in the day?

guys, seriously give bioware a break, do you have any idea how difficult it would be to release a product on three separate platforms simultaneously, and then correct bugs that might occur on one platform etc. The core game is still fricken marvelous, the other DLC was great too, a bit of patience why they obviously sort out an issue that also irritates and annoys them as developers.

So I go to a fine dining restaurant that I made a reservation for because it is my anniversary and I am first made to wait at the door because there was a minor misunderstand. I am not thrilled but 10 minutes of wait is not too much. 30 minutes later, the receptionist informs me that my table is still not ready, but is incapable of telling me when it will be or what is the delay. Finally an hour after my reservation, I am invited to sit. I accept the house wine and order my food, but whilst the food is being cooked the wine turns out to be rotten and spoil my appetite, great start. I feel for my companion so I await for the food, however the orders are mixed up and in order to eat together everything is held down in the kitchen. After another 30 minutes of bread, the waiter tells me in the passing that there are some issue and they will bring the food when it is ready.
Quick test, what do you do: Say "oh, it is so hard to coordinate a fine restaurant, I understand it must be difficult to perfectly time and cook the orders and ensure that the wine is not spoiled" (get off high horse?) or do you get upset and demand to know what the heck is "fine" about this dining and want to give the floor manager a good scolding?
(This should be taken humorously, but come on, it is not our fault if they bit more than they can chew, and we are so nice we will be understanding, if they would just open up a bit and handle communication better)

Step 1: Clear your xbox 360 cache. This will remove the offending update.
Step 2: Load a saved game (I think it can be any saved game).
Step 3: Buy a book or do something else to unlock a class. Obviously, this may be easier for some to do than others, but try using an old save if you have unlocked all your classes.
Step 4: Save your game (this step may not be necessary).
Step 5: Exit to the Xbox 360 dashboard.
Step 6: Load a game. It doesn't need to be the last one you saved.
I followed these steps and it looks like I have my specializations back. My only concern is that they will disappear when I level up or something.

It takes all this to release a one hour DLC, do you really think this expansion is going to happen in 2010?
Yes. Bioware has more time with the expansion and they are going to learn from the madness that is RtO.
Have some faith man! They're grown up pros, they'll only get better.
Just like how they learnt from pinnacle station? And Mass effect's promise of DLC's?

By making them work again. We'll probably never find out -how- they do it.

Lots of people pre ordered I am sure. Maybe you can ask them for reasons?
One of which is that RTO and awakening is made by different teams. Nevermind that so far everything they've released for dragon age has been delayed.
