im sorry, im done, im gonna go to sleep and rest for my class tomorrow and stop talking to an angry lil despot who cant get over a GAME. yes it cost you over $100, but oh well. GET OVER IT. Its not a waste of money until you throw the game away; and if you got a problem with having to deal with this and having to deal with all these bugs, email the ppl who are making the game so maybe, just maybe, they can work out a deal with you, who knows, you might just get paid for all your whining and beta testing a dlc.
I'm sorry our whining has not achieved as much as your post did. DOn't worry we've taken notes based on your posting and will improve next time.
Just like Bioware has been improving their DLC release process.
Yep all you have done is inspire me to keep whining about it until I get the game that I paid for. So I hope you enjoy reading my posts. There will be lots. It is gonna be alot harder for them to ignore me here than send me back the same generic emails. I do hope to read more post of your whining about me whining though. they do cheer me up.

Wow that's surprising considered the Developers have been spot on accurate on what they have been saying about release dates, price of DLC and such

Don't forget all the testing they did. They never thought in a million years people would want to play as an archer. That is why they never incorporated dex into bow damage. And the specializations weren't supposed to appear until Awakenings. That is why the patch removed them.
I am honestly beginning to think they are doing this on purpose. Maybe Dante's Inferno Marketing Team is in on this. Just look at all the publicity and the hits they are getting. I betcha all this is some PR stunt t o sell ME2.

That said, I have an insane amount of MS points so 400 didn't make a huge dent.

Ironically if they later came out and said it was a PR stunt. I would actually respect them more than the reality of them having a poor testing team and even poorer communications.
And in Bioware's defense. No one other than robin hood likes archers.

I'm now officially annoyed. For detecting the issue fully a day ago, I would think a basic patch could have been made by now to at least restore the broken 360 version to proper order while a full patch was worked out, but we haven't heard anything from Bioware/Chris in 12 hours, which would have been 1:30Pac/4:30Eas... I would have hoped at least there could have been a "Sorry guys, no patch today" announcement before they closed up shop. Unless they haven't closed up shop, in which case my annoyance would become sympathy for the unfortunate employee left to work this late until the problem was fixed. But I don't know how likely that scenario is. I'm going to bed, I REALLY hope there's some official communication on here by tomorrow morning.
I'm not saying this is acceptable, but I would assume any patch would need to be put through to certification first? In which case they wouldn't really want to tell you they are at that point in case MS knock it back.

I suggest continual crying on forums. It appears to be doing wonders......
Not that I don't sympathise with you because for a while I couldn't play an archer on pc either, although the modding community can do wonders to address balancing etc.
But yeah, continually posting won't actually help you (unless you feel better every time you post in which case I stand corrected). At the end of the day your complaining isn't going to sway another current user to give the game away. they will come to that conclusion (or should) on their own. And while I am sure Bioware want to fix your problem, I don't believe you posting over and over is miraculously going to make them work faster

I am quite aware what my posting will do. It will accomplish nothing. But it does make me feel better. It helps pass the time while my copy of DA:O is in the shop. And it annoys the BW fanboys which serves as entertainment while I wait.
Maybe if I whine enough they will not lower the price on something else. See it can accomplish sumthin.

I just had one of those right-as-you're-going-to-sleep brilliant ideas. At least I think it is. Alternatively, it may only sound like a great idea because I had it at 2:30 am. Anyway here it is.
A lot of people have been going on about thinking Bioware should offer some sort of "compensation" for this whole fubar operation. Personally, I love the idea, but s*** ain't gonna happen. We live in a capitalistic society, chances of them giving out the DLC for free or paying you back are not high. My idea is this: since the game update only caused a glitch on the 360, why not write up a new Achievement (no, I have no idea if that's complicated). Have the fix, when it comes out, detect if you had the glitchy game update when it overwrites. If you did gain an exclusive achievement, "Achievement Unlocked, Weathering the Storm - 5G: Survived the Return to Ostagar game update fiasco"
It'd be cool, 360 users all (or almost all) have a hard-on for Achievements, this would give those of us who had to deal with this whole nasty situation recognition for our grief, and it would give us an Achievement our friends couldn't unlock, so we'd be part of an elite group. Total PR turnaround, right there,

I am not waiting for a release date on the patch. That isn't why I'm here or what I'm looking for. All I want is official confirmation that these issues can be fixed. That all the achievements that were broken because of this patch (hopeless romantic and recruiter so far) can be fixed. And whether or not the fix will apply to old characters. And maybe someone who has a memory card can tell me if wiping everything will help?

If I remember correctly, giving you guys achievements was one of the reasons it got delayed in the first place. So no. I don't want them adding in more achievements for 360 users. As a pc user, we all COULD have obtained RtO through illegal means, but we are trying to support them. If they added another delay just to add in yet another achievement for console users (in this case 360) I wouldn't be surprised if they had pc users in their droves turning to the illegal download.
Rightly or wrongly, as far as pc gamers are concerned Bioware wouldn't be where they were today without the pc fanbase. So they expect that Bioware should be catering to them first and foremost; not the consoles. Then again, it depends where Bioware sees their long term profit coming from

I can't award rep or e-score for this, but you are definatly getting major WIN. That would make it all worthwile, after a few months.
REALITY: Yeah... because that tottally wouldn't upset people who are achievment lackies that are on PC or didn't manage to grab it for Xbox.

It sounds good on paper but then they will be memorializing thier huge mistake. Everytime you look at DA:O achievies you will be reminded of these dark times.
I think they should learn from Bethesda on this one. They gave everyone who bought all the Fallout 3 DLC a free theme. I am sure at least a part of that was an apology for them screwing up the DLC. So come on Bioware. Show our avatars some love and give us a T-shirt or sumthin.

That's exactly my problem with all this. They essentially mugged us. Yes, it's only a few bucks, but I worked hard for that money. Bioware on the other hand just keeps silently grinning over the nice pile of (virtual) money that came in right after that announcement. "Those naive PC users actually believed us! Nice job Mr. Priestly, here's your raise. Enjoy Hawaii!".
