He's not wrong at all. Sitting on the content for the PC sku, you as a developer has said on 3 occasions now will be available xx date just due to a 360 achievement/specialization bug isn't very good customer service to begin with.
So if you downloaded RTO (or any future update) and it completely glitched every one of your saves, you would have no problem with BW saying "Oh, never mind. We'll fix your problem once we do a minor update for the console players. After all, they've been waiting patiently for this minor thing."
I'm absolutely amazed how many people are willing to eat up a non informative update
Do you want Chris to pull some random, possibly wrong answer out of his rear? Do you really think the PR people at BW are so stupid as to think "We know exactly what the problem is, and we know exactly when it will be fixed. But we're not going to tell, since we like watching people have tantrums in the forums." You are demanding answers he probably doesn't have.
I highly doubt a non existant title update for the PC version will corrupt my saves on the PC version.
Probably not, but the PC does get patched, which is why I said "any future update."
I feel the pain of the 360 users truly I do, but if the PC version is ready to go theres no sense on not making it available just to avoid ticking off 360 users.
Point taken. I've just several PC players making comments like "why is BW wasting their time fixing the 360 gamers games. We want RTO now!"
The way I see it, BW didn't intend to put out a title update that glitched all the saves of any 360 player who got it. Wouldn't it be better to go over every line of code on the PC and PS3 versions of RTO to make sure nothing got slipped in there that will screw up those games? BW is already having a PR disaster with the 360 TU. They don't need another debacle because of an accident with PC or PS3 players.
People are also making the assumption that not releasing the PC and PS3 versions of RTO is connected to the 360 TU. RTO has already been delayed twice - including last week - so another delay is not impossible. I am not saying the events aren't connected. But they do not have to be.
hence my comment about better communication between the various teams involved (be it QA, post release content etc) It may help quell things while we wait. I don't see how thats so unreasonable to expect.
I suspect BW has learned a lesson about putting out firm updates and dates. (As others have said, I'm surprised they stated a release date for Awakenings.) I suspect there won't be a firm date until everyone at BW is satisfied everything is ready, which means I suspect the next firm update is "RTO will be release in 1 hour."
