Guess I might as well delete it and re-download it when the unborked version becomes available.

Why are people saying that the DLC was delayed for a third time? The only time it was truly delayed was on the fifth. Today's "delay" is a result of a premature release on microsoft's part and Bioware's haste to try and get the content out for the other platforms in response. (Only to be foiled by a gamebreaking bug on the 360 version) It's not so much a delay as it is a cluster****.
The first delay occured in December, then January 5th, now today January 13th, that's the third time. Hopefully they can sort it out but I doubt it since its already pass office hours in Canada unless the DLC team is burning lamp oils to have it ready by today or even tomorrow. I sure hope that they can fix it though, I really am hoping.

RtO was advertised and offered for download through the game client, not the xbox dashboard
The fact that I have the game on PC doesn't mean I don't have a 360 as well (i just like to play the best version of each game). I did check today, and RTO was indeed available through the marketplace dashboard, and that's how many downloaded it, so I'm afraid you're wrong. There has been no official announcement one way or the other to place blame.
Today they clearly said that RTO was released "unexpectedly" on 360, if they didn't expect it, it's obvious that someone else released it. There's only one "someone else" in this picture, and that's Microsoft.
What we do know is that there is a pretty serious bug with an update that is required to run RtO on the Xbox.
Not really, what we do know is that "This title update introduced a previously undetected issue that causes
specialization classes to not work correctly in Dragon Age: Origins."
PC or PS3 have no such title update and as such I'd say that until contrary notice we're definitely to assume that they're free of the bug. If they're not, it's easy, they should just tell us. But until they do, there's no other option to believe, given what they did say.
You can keep your petty "panties in a bunch" taunts, they don't really belong to a civil discussion anyway.
The discussion hasn't been civil since you came in here demanding your toy. And I'm having way too much fun being "petty". When I see a child in tears I feel sorry for them, but when I see what I can only imagine is a grown man, well, it's practically civil duty to push your buttons.
As far as "unexpectedly" goes, it would also be "unexpected" in the situation I explained to you, much like how bugs are "unexpected". Perhaps we don't know the meaning of the word.
And seeing as how this was an unexpected (fun word) bug, I would think the only thing you're safe in assuming is that Bioware is double checking their releases so they don't have to go through this crap again tomorrow. But no, Abriael demands his toy NOW. I'm sure they'll get right on it.

That's not what I said at all. I imagine they had a hand in both updates, which also happen to be linked (the title update is required to run RtO). If someone accidentally put the RtO download offer within the title update, which was released (and scheduled to be released) today, and Microsoft had already put RtO onto their servers to prep for a later release (possibly tomorrow, seeing as how Bioware was ready to roll out the PC version today after the 'unexpected' release), then that could certainly explain the incident. It certainly makes more sense than the "exclusive release" conspiracy theories. Now, I don't know the specifics of what do into linking the client to the file on the Xbox LIVE servers, but I imagine it's not much more than Bioware calling up Microsoft and asking for the code. Hell, maybe Microsoft puts it in after, but it's pretty clear, at least from my experience early this morning, that the RtO access was granted by the title update.
There's no "exclusive release" conspiracy theory. Much more simply, since Microsoft has full control over what gets released or not on xbox live, someone at Microsoft screwed up and put for download RTO when it was not supposed to be downloaded. In fact the release date on the microsoft xbox live website was "1/14/2009". It's pretty easy to see what happened. A server monkey inserted the wrong number and didn't care to doublecheck. Thus, the blame falls on Microsoft.
You're grasping at straws quite a lot to try and spin the blame on Bioware in a scenario in which they had absolutely no control. Once the files are sent to Microsoft, the matter is completely out of their hands.

You know, being a paying customer (i wonder if you are one, given that I see no game registered) entitles people to some limited demands . The PC release was announced today (for the third time), and people were led to believe that they were safe to buy the points to download it. We already paid for RtO and have nothing to show for it. It's that simple.
I'd say yes, this entitle us at the very least to clear communication on when we will get the product that we already paid for.

it would also be "unexpected" in the situation I explained to you, much

Too bad that the scenario you described is completely irrealistic, since it would assume Bioware having a degree of control on the files downloaded through xbox live. Thing that no third party software house has. It's that simple.
But you can continue taunting, it doesn't really give more ground to your claim, but it's sure giving some giggles to the readers.

I'm not sure what "exclusive release conspiracy theories" you are referring to, I know I have made no such claims. The fact of the matter is that BW has to release all responsibility to MS to get their content to the end-user. MS is a middle-man with Xbox Live... Nothing goes through Live without consent of MS, so it was their responsibility to not provide the title update on Live if it did not conform to BW's agreement with them on the release of RtO.

Do you think they want to set release dates that they then need to break? Do you think they want to upset people who are loyal customers? Do you think they want people to lose confidence (which ultimately means loss of money)? Of course not!
It seems that many people who spout off their anger do so with an assumption that Bioware wants this stuff to happen. Believe me, nothing is worse than having a community wait in anticipation for something and then get disappointed (more than once is worse!) over failure to meet the promise. However, we must have hope that they are doing their best to overcome these problems that are hurting them as much as they are frustrating you. I know they are, so I'm content to wait.
Does it suck? Sure. I want to play it right now. Will my complaining make that happen? Nope.
Keep doing the good work you're doing Bioware. I'm impressed so far, even with a few setbacks.

Here's another bug issue with the patch/update released January 13, 2010 for the devs to work on....all my gear that I've stored in the Party Storage chest in Soldier's Peak was wiped out by the patch for the 360. That's a solid 70+ hours of weapons, armor, accessories, potions, traps, craftables, runes, etc. that are now all gone.
Aster reading this I went to check one of my save files. The file was croupted.

All I want, is a little bit of transparency when these kinds of situations arise. For example, right now we know there are (or recently were) several Bioware employees perusing the forum - yet not one of them offered up any comment on whether the PC version would still be meeting the release date mentioned earlier today, despite the fact that dozens of us are asking about it.
Then they get irritated when pages and pages of speculation and annoyance fill this board instead.
We get it - there's a problem with the XBOX version of the DLC, due to a conflict with an update. Thansk for letting us know. But how about those of us who were anxiously awaiting the DLC for the PC version today? We get silence.

They're not answering either because they don't know when it will be released or because they can't say. And yes, pages and pages of "are we there yet?" really do get annoying.Shakes McQueen wrote...

We have no idea if they don't know when it will be released, because they haven't said ANYTHING one way or the other.
Even if they just said "PC version has been delayed. We aren't sure for how long.", that would at least save people speculating about it.
