I just found RtO in my downloadable content tab, redeemed the 400 points I bought the 4th but it's been stuck at 0% for an hour now. I guess that means RtO isn't out and there's been a glitch which made it available for download somehow while not actually being there?
Edit: I'm using the PC version.
I dunno, but I wouldn't download anything anyway untill they announce it's released?

Chill out Read a book, hug your family.. or heaven forbid go outside.. let the good people do there work. Nobody here likes it when someone chews us out at work for doing our job.. have respect for the people at Bioware after all they have given us this great game and many more.. well that is my two cents anyway
I'm sure you're aware than the usual "get a life" speech is nothing more than trolling, so I won't stress on that further.
No one here is not "letting them do their work". What we ask for is informative communication, which in no way would jeopardize the work of the coders.
As of being chewed at work, If i don't meet a dead line three times and send in a screwed up project, and on top of that, I don't keep in touch with my clients by updating them regularly on the status of the project they commissioned and on the timeframe in which they will receive it, I can pretty much count on being chewed upon. And believe me, I'd bow my head, apologize a thousand times and be thankful for the patience and the chance to finish the project and still be paid.
Of course the example above is quite irrealistic, since after the second delay i would probably lose the contract anyway...

Since you did not go through the posts like you said, you are not understanding why people are upset. People are pissed they are not getting an update to a DLC that was said to be ready and released on the 13th for xbox and pc and now complete and utter silence. And further more, if bioware did not want feedback they would have closed and locked this topic a LONG time ago. So coming here and saying people need to relax just comes out as "hi i want to get flamed since i am looking for an argument"
just my 2 cents anyway

You really aren't doing yourself any favours here. One great way to ensure that you'll acquire the dislike of everyone - fans and developers both - is to break out the violins and try to claim that only people like you deserve to complain.
Sheesh.

I can not speak for other players, though I assume many of them feel the same, but the end result of the DLC RtO debacle for me is that I will not be pre-ordering the expansion nor buying it on release. It is very likely that I will still buy it as I love DAO in general, but Bioware just doesn't seem to have it together enough for me to want to risk anything in advance.
I'll just wait till the expansion is out and patched before I pick it up. Also, I will likely not buy points anymore. It seems better to wait until DLC is released and the reviews are in that it is worth purchasing. I thought that Wardens Keep was to short and the RtO looks to be such a mess that I would rather have saved my money and waited to see the reviews. If I could get a refund on my point right now I would.
Personally, more than that, I will for sure not preorder the TOR MMORPG, nor buy it at launch. I was already dubious, not being that much of a lover of the Old Republic setting (it really seems the least interesting part of Star Wars to me), but if they have that many problems with a simple DLC, I really prefer to wait and see how the first months of TOR pan out, before throwing myself in the fray and get another bad MMORPG disappointment.
100% Agreed. I like MMOs and have played many but in recent years I have tired of them. I am looking at TOR as a potential new breath of life for the genre, at least for how I like to play anyway. That being said, I will also not be pre-ordering and will likely wait a month or so before trying it so that they can work out the bugs. I would likely have done that anyway but I agree that the trouble they have had with the DLC for DAO doesn't do anything to instill confidence that they understand how to manage the technical aspects of an MMO and likely hurst them in that regard.

oh well. thanks for the input. if only there was someone with inside information available to comment...like an official representative from the company perhaps...
You want them to tell you it'll be available for release tomorrow?
That'd be HILARIOUS.
Personally, I'm fine with receiving no "official" information, since most of their "official" information seems to be self-serving and profitable and often far from reality.

i just tried to play DA on my PS3 and it is telling me that there is a system software update. anyone know if it is safe?
Was this a dragon age update, or a PS3 system software update?
There was a 'voluntary' PS3 software update back in early December that has now gone mandatory as I understand it. (http://blog.us.playstation.com/)
The timing would seem to mesh as well.
I can't see the Dragon Age update all of a sudden popping up on PS3 before the Xbox update (read - patch, not additional dlc)... so I'm inclined to think it is the PS3 update instead.

Easiest way to tell? Try another game that has anything to do with either multiplay or a network connection, if it still prompts you to update its more than likely the firmware update Pub linked.

Have you tried playing any other games besides DA:O. I would try that and if you cannot play them I would take a safe bet and say it is just a firmwere update and not a DA update. but if you can I would wait, but thats just me.

I never claimed or implied anything of the sort actually reading comprehension FTW. I reminded all the pc users of the game that were complaining the xbox problem was keeping them from their dlc that xbox users were still waiting for content that has already been released for the pc. At no point in my post did I complain at all in fact I told the pc users to shut up thats not a complaint it is an order. I stated a fact and an order doofus.
