I'm getting tired of the "gee whiz guys, what do you want from them?!" posts.

All I want, is a little bit of transparency when these kinds of situations arise. For example, right now we know there are (or recently were) several Bioware employees perusing the forum - yet not one of them offered up any comment on whether the PC version would still be meeting the release date mentioned earlier today, despite the fact that dozens of us are asking about it.

Then they get irritated when pages and pages of speculation and annoyance fill this board instead.

We get it - there's a problem with the XBOX version of the DLC, due to a conflict with an update. Thansk for letting us know. But how about those of us who were anxiously awaiting the DLC for the PC version today? We get silence.

My guess? You will hear nothing further and obtain no details until all legal issues have been resolved and a proper damage control strategy planned out. Most likely scenario? DLC will be delayed for all platforms, and we will never know if the bug was xbox exclusive or just the first place to notice it. They cannot tell you things like this because they would give new life to "forget about consoles" sentiment amongst some pc users, which sadly is not a realistic business model for developing games of this scale.
Basically they are between a rock and a hard place. (Ohgren and Shale? lols)

They're not answering either because they don't know when it will be released or because they can't say. And yes, pages and pages of "are we there yet?" really do get annoying.

This is true and I also agree with this XD

Why is it people always think the dev's are sitting around with all the info at their disposal and just not telling us... I know if I was experiencing as many unexpected issues with something I would be pretty hesitant to make and announcements until I had all my info 100% correct...

We have no idea if they don't know when it will be released, because they haven't said ANYTHING one way or the other.

Even if they just said "PC version has been delayed.  We aren't sure for how long.", that would at least save people speculating about it.

- Scott

Well, to save myself the headache, I'm assuming that it's delayed. So no worries for me.

RtO was advertised and offered for download through the game client, not the xbox dashboard

The fact that I have the game on PC doesn't mean I don't have a 360 as well (i just like to play the best version of each game). I did check today, and RTO was indeed available through the marketplace dashboard, and that's how many downloaded it, so I'm afraid you're wrong.

There has been no official announcement one way or the other to place blame.

Today they clearly said that RTO was released "unexpectedly" on 360, if they didn't expect it, it's obvious that someone else released it. There's only one "someone else" in this picture, and that's Microsoft.

What we do know is that there is a pretty serious bug with an update that is required to run RtO on the Xbox.

Not really, what we do know is that "This title update introduced a previously undetected issue that causes
specialization classes to not work correctly in Dragon Age: Origins."
PC or PS3 have no such title update and as such I'd say that until contrary notice we're definitely to assume that they're free of the bug. If they're not, it's easy, they should just tell us. But until they do, there's no other option to believe, given what they did say.

You can keep your petty "panties in a bunch" taunts, they don't really belong to a civil discussion anyway.

The discussion hasn't been civil since you came in here demanding your toy. And I'm having way too much fun being "petty". When I see a child in tears I feel sorry for them, but when I see what I can only imagine is a grown man, well, it's practically civil duty to push your buttons.

As far as "unexpectedly" goes, it would also be "unexpected" in the situation I explained to you, much like how bugs are "unexpected". Perhaps we don't know the meaning of the word.

And seeing as how this was an unexpected (fun word) bug, I would think the only thing you're safe in assuming is that Bioware is double checking their releases so they don't have to go through this crap again tomorrow. But no, Abriael demands his toy NOW. I'm sure they'll get right on it.

Haha reading this gave me an unexpected laugh!!!!!!!! lol. Good response it was funny!!! I'm off to bed, here's to hoping RTO is out before or on my bday!!! (the 21st!!!) selfish but it would be cool if it was!

They already confirmed earlier today that the bug with the XBOX 360 DLC had to do specifically with the title update that was also released today.

Thanks for the update :) Nice to know it's being worked on rather than being left out in the wind. I can wait till it is 100% ready. Sad to say I'm glad, at least in my case, it didn't come out tonight XD I would end up staying up till I finished it and go into work early in the morning like a zombie Oo; First time playing a game like this and happy to say I'm in love with them :) Keep it up Bioware!

I'd like them to be transparent and let me know when i will receive the product that I already paid for due to their announcement and Microsoft's screwup.

I'd like them to clearly (more clearly than they already did at the beginning of this thread, just for safety's sake) state if the bug is only an issue on Xbox 360, and in that case, to immediately release the PC version as a first priority and for the PS3 version not to be delayed further due to the 360 one, since there's absolutely no reason to hold them back further.

As I already said, I normally shy away from false sense of entitlement, but after two delays and today's announcement that had us scramble to buy the points only to be disappointed by not receiving a product we already paid for, i would say we are at the very least entitled to full and clear information on what the roadmap is, and to speedy times to receive the product we paid for as a first priority.

You may not agree, but this is my standpoint.

I understand things pop up and such and having the unexpected happen is a regular occurrence in software development. But damn RtO is giving the DLC and Q&A teams a hell of a run for their money.

This is actually a very valid post. I don't want to wait even longer because Microsoft dropped the ball.

Before getting flamed let me explain.

If Microsoft hadn't "accidently" released it early, Bioware wouldn't have had to update the community and say the PC version would be out yesterday, and this topic wouldn't have even been started, and we wouldn't have felt let down for a second time.

I really don't care when it comes out, I just don't want to get all excited for a second time and dissapointed moments later due to another delay.

Yes, I'm still getting the product, but when I order something from Amazon they tell me "you will receive the product in X business days".
They don't tell me "we'll give you further info on when you'll receive the product in the future, maybe". I'm sure you can see the difference.
At the moment we paid for a product and have nothing to show for it. Sure, we'll get it "in the future", but as paying customers, I would say we're entitled to a little more transparency on what that "future" will be.

being disappointed may be part of life. And i'd say we all have been disappointed quite enough by the bumps in the road this DLC exposed us to.
Transparency is (or should be) also part of business. While I see a whole lot of disappointment, I don't see that much transparency, and that is the main issue.
Personally I don't think it takes being a "spoiled youngster" to know the value of money and asking transparency when one has already paid for a product. Quite the contrary actually.
I'd say it's quite more juvenile to come to a thread in which there are obviously disappointed customers to try and inflame them further by calling them "spoiled" for requiring communication over a product they already paid for.

You're saying that you've never been dissapointed in life? If not then you have been and are apparently an older wiser man now right?

Good for you, we don't need "I'm older so I get to go around telling youngsters that they need to get used to being dissapointed!"

I'm used to being dissapointed, yes. I still don't like it.

I don't think he wants an exact date just a time frame..like this year? Also they promised the 5th then delayed now the 13th. I personally wouldn't have an issue with it if that wouldn't of added "PC later today" to the title & gave out info to ign about it coming out tomorrow. We still have tomorrow but even that is doubtful.
(this is not directed towards you) But I'm really sick of people calling others childish or stupid for being upset. It's fine that you guys don't think a promise means anything but it does to us who are "childish". Some responses are uncalled for & uneccessary but oh well. This sucks we keep getting hyped for DLC just to get disappointed again!!
