Isn't it rumored to take place mainly in Orlais? If so, the main villian should be a puddle. Ruining Orlesian shoes is probably the most heinous of crimes one could commit.

Jory: I've never faced a foe I could not engage with my blade... until now.

But not the one, where the woman is an old boiler and the man is the submissive wimp.

Seriously though I can support this but I'd rather have the exact Villain be a surprise until half way through but the threat always be discernable.

Another vote in the it doesn't matter group. As long as an antagonist is established as a credible threat with believable motives, I will be satisfied. Anything more than a "Bwahaha! I will destroy the WORLD!" caricature is a win. :P

I was just reading the light hearted or serious thread so went with Team Rocket. Spike and Dru could be fun if Anders plays the role of Angel in this scenario.

The villain should be a hermaphrodite to spice things up!

Really though I don't care about the gender of the villain as long as they're deep and well rounded, and can be identified with even as you hate them. I hate the cardboard cutout, mustache twirling villains with no depth.

Fantasy stories need more female villains who don't fall into the femme fatal thing. How about an Eevil Overlady with cool scars and spikey armor on a black throne of skulls and such?

Alternately make the villain a genderless eldtrich abomination from beyond space and time, with tentacles. Some people might be getting tired of that but I never will.

I'm mostly joking but I would seriously enjoy a game with a grizzled Evil Overlady.

A vote for a broodmother antagonist, is a vote for the win!

Now... a villain who is male but has breasts... Who do we already know is male, and has breasts? Hmmm...

You know, I really can't think of anyone...

In the event of people complaining about the antagonist being too generic, or accusing Gaider of being sexist (to men), a genderless and/or unisex antagonist is probably BioWare's best choice. It'd be different, and hard to argue. "Oh! [Insert villain name here] is a femme fatale morbidly obese blob-man with delusions of grandiose world domination! We've seen it all before!" =]

I actually wouldn't mind see that.

I'm hoping there's more than one villain anyway.

The combination of Spike and Dru was a 'bloody massacre incarnate', and did it with such flair.  Wicked without remorse or guilt, a touch mystical (Dru) and brutality unleashed (Spike), yet over the course of the series became recognizable in their humanity even if warped beyond the touch of such things as compassion and love, lacking in a soul as they were.  They were the 'perfect' villianous couple, but if Bioware could come up with half so interesting a combo of characters, I'd be on board for this idea!

The villainous couple is a good idea. They could be united until the end. Or else there's the potential for betrayal or an event which tempts one half to switch course but not the other. Doesn't have to be 'I see the light' with one character relenting. They may just find that their self-interest doesn't align anymore, or one has been more under the heel of the other than they first appear.

How about taking DA2 to next level and just have a piece of artifact be the villain? ;-)

Give me Conrad Verner. He gets thrown through a singularity-thingy and ends up in Thedas. However, the process turns him into a woman allowing all of us to win.
