You tried to shut down Skynet and it tries and shut you down.  That's life bro.  Survival of the fittest.  Sure as hell hope my side wins but no need to pretend.  The fault is with the people that tried to kill it.

This is turning into a dogpile. Tempers will inevitably flare, which in turn makes people argue more dogmatically for their own side and lessens the likelihood of anyone reaching an agreement.

It's probably time for me to bow out for the night. DA:O is downloading.

This was the last of them which implies others were killed.  Silver tried to argue hundreds of others were killed.  Look, you guys really need to make up your minds.

Silver, can you please explain to Tevix how the council killed all these poor AI and how as a result the Quarians had to kill the Geth because they were dead anyway?

Oh ho..ha..haha..oh man...

Now you've reduced your argument for not trying to shut down the geth to "The geth can kick your a--, don't mess with them."

The quarians who tried to shut down the geth were wrong. Sadly, they never had the opportunity to correct their mistake. If the geth absorb only knowledge on how to kill and no sense of morals or right/wrong then we can assume even if the quarians attempted peace before the end of the MW the geth would have rejected it and killed them anyway.

Evidence?

Geth become racist homocidal bast---- that kill vessels of peace even if they aren't quarian.

Also, you have failed repeatedly to respond to deinon's assertion (and he provided evidence) that the geth were considering alliance with the reapers before the quarians showed up.

Why the f--- would they even be talking to them? We don't know for certain if they would have taken it up, but the fact that legion had to stop talking because of a difficulty in whether to take them up on the offer...that says they are considering it pretty seriously. That's questionable behavior in and of itself.

Nope they are not.  You are free to believe what you want.  Just as I am.  When Crono Dragon ie a Quarian supporter said the story was inconsistent and hard to reconcile I didn't hear a peep from you guys.  You are only up in arms about it now because I said it.

The writers deliberately left elements vague to encourage speculation. There's nothing explicitly disproving Auld Wulf's earlier assertion that, during the Morning War, the Quarian military forced their own civilians to act as suicide bombers against Geth-sympathizing Quarian civilians. What we're arguing against here is elements of peoples' interpretations which are not supported by lore.

If people argue to have elements of the lore dismissed because it conflicts with their interpretation of events, it suggests the interpretation, and not the evidence, is flawed.

Except in my case it doesn't matter.  I have argued why I don't trust the story but also explained my position if we assume the story is correct.  So continuing to try and convince me of something that I will not change is pointless especially when I have already done you guys the courtesy of still providing my opinion if for the purpses of discussion, we assume the story is correct.

Tevix, we have already covered this ground.  Organics hate them for existing.  That is not confined to the Quarians.  Legion makes this clear as he sees it as a flaw in all organics.  He says this clearly.  The Council and it's laws make this clear as well.

And not we cannot assume that because at the end of the MW, they spare the Quarians.  Once they no longer feel threatened they decide not to kill their creators.  So if the Quarians had retreated before billions of them had died and said hey guys we f**ked up then I don't know what would have happened because we have conflicting evidence.  On one hand they killed a lot of people.  On the other hand, they could have finished the job but chose not to.

I'm fairly certain letting 1% of a people escape doesn't get you off the hook for wiping out the other 99%.

. Maybe if we explained that we aren't a threat.... Nah, lets just shut off all communication and kill anyone who comes near us.

Well I guess Darwin was indoctrinated then.  Look, you try and wipe something from existence and it tries and return the favor then that is as it should be.  Stop crying about it and do something about it.

I mean what kind of twisted logic is this.

Humans:  Hey Skynet old pal, forget about the fact I tried to murder you, let's be friends.

Skynet:  You will just try and kill me again won't you?

Humans:  Well yeah, as soon as I think I can murk you, I will but let's be friends until then.

Skynet:  WTF?  Hell no! You will be my b*tch now or die.

Humans:  Oh look, look how bad Skynet is, it tried to kill me after I tried to kill it.  Doesn't it know Jesus turned the other cheek.

Skyenet:  I am familiar with this Jesus and it is most telling that after turning the other cheek, he was killed.  Homie don't play that!

I am fairly certain that when you tried to kill 100% of them but simply sucked at it that you should be happy they didn't kill 100% of you.
