I don't get how anyone could repay the quarians help in killing that reaper, with the biggest FU in history... Yeah thanks for the help with that and all but now the Geth army Not being controlled by the enemy and are becoming real boys so your all gonna die now sorry.

So remydat, did you just throw in the towel and give up on debating my points? Because it's been SEVERAL pages since I made my response to you.

It's real simple.

They weren't helping Shepard.  Shepard was helping them.

A Reaper on an uninhabited planet isn't exactly a problem Shep should be spending his time on while Earth burns.  They weren't helping Shepard - they were destroying that Reaper for reasons all their own, and I was helping them do it to try to get their support in the war.

And they repay that support with immediate genocide.

There's absolutely an FU going on.  Just, not the one you think.

Ah I'm all argued out. I'll keep siding with the Geth in my game and you guys do whatever in yours. Live and let live :)

Ahh, c'mon it's all in good fun. We are divided in our opinions but clearly all agree that we have some compelling consequences to face in the Rannoch question.

I sorry Phatose but I can think a list of logical military and political reasons in the Meu for why siding with the quarians is optimal to siding with the Geth. What valid argument would I present to the council for choosing to aid the Geth over the quarians. The council outright bans AI and one of there specters is gonna help a race of AI wipeout an entire modern civilization? I'm sure you would lose more then just your spectre status with thy call if there wasn't a reaper war currently happening.

You were ordered by Hackett to recruit the Quarians because they were willing to help you. It's not like the Genophage arc, where the Krogan were holding the entire war effort hostage for something they're capable of fighting without. Without a planet, they Quarians are unable to aid the wider war effort. They tried to solve the problem on their own; that reaper interfered. Without assistance, the Quarians die and the Geth bring their shiny new dreadnought around to attack you. Without invading, Hackett gets no logistics fleet, the Quarians drift, praying the Reapers don't find them, and the Geth hide behind the veil as they've always done.

The Quarian decision to attack had the potential to screw over the Geth. The Geth decision to side with the Reapers had the potential to screw over everyone else.

In reality anyone who doesn't loathe their own humanity would pick an organic race over machines.

Legion lied to protect his people just like everyone else did.  At the end of the day Legion fought his own people and as he said in the servers destroyed essentially a city of his people.  Show me where the others did the same? Tali is my love interest in most of my playthroughs but guess what even she accepted what she knew in her heart was wrong and didn't stand up against Gherel.  Legion stood up.

Legion destroyed a city of his people for his own interests. There wasn't anything especially noble about it.

Ok show me where another race did the same?  Further, Legion was ashamed about lying to Shepard.  Even though it was to protect his people, he hung his head low.  All these other organics that lied to me, show me where they act remorseful.  Those dudes not only lied but they were arrogant in their lying as they basically just told me yeah we lied but it was to protect our people so I am not sorry.  Legion is clearly sorry despite lying just like everyone else.

I can think of a very long list of reasons why favoring the Geth over the Quarians is optimal.  Fundamentally, the Quarians have very little to offer over the Turians, for instance.  Or the Salarians.  Geth have capabilities that differ significantly from organics, and a broader skillset is a very valuable thing to have in a situation of desperate survival.

Furthermore, if the council is going to take a stance that it is perfectly acceptable to help an aggressor race in it's genocide.....then I'm going back to Cerberus.

They aren't equipped to provide logistical support to organic races. The Quarians are. We're well aware of the Geth's combat capabilities. The question is, given their history and current actions, what grounds is there to trust them AND the reaper code we know almost nothing about, enough to sign the deal with the blood of seventeen million people?

This rings false.  Why exactly couldn't the Quarians help without Rannoch?  Their fleet has managed to get by without a planet for centuries.  They don't suddenly need one now.

The pact wasn't signed with the blood of seventeen million people.  Those seventeen million people died because they kept on attacking, even when notified the Reaper was dead.

Giving the Geth that code was my choice.  The Quarians getting wiped out?  That was the Quarians choice, not mine.

Why do they need a planet?Um because you can't go to a galactic scale war with your ENTIRE POPULATION onboard your warships so that if your shot down that's that you have now gone extinct

Vast casualties.  Which, incidentally, is exactly the same as what happens if they catch them on a planet.  The planet does not improve the situation.

You know, despite what Quarian military doctrine would lead you to believe, you don't actually have to send your liveships into combat.

I *didn't*.  The Quarian admiralty did that.
