Battlefield 3 has 64 players on the pc, so having seperate console and pc modes is something that Bioware could definitely do. Granted, they probably didn't expect ME3's mp to be so popular, so they didn't want to risk making a ton of modes. However, now that they know, if the next Mass Effect game is going to have multiplayer I would hope to see modes with larger maps and more players and even vehicles. I want to see more large scale co-op stuff and sci-fi to boot? That's pretty much my dream game.Cyonan wrote...
The consoles that wouldn't be able to run that might not think it's better =P

It's impossible on console, but I'd love bigger maps. Maybe that would fix the spawn BS.
I keep seeing people say this but I keep wondering if that's really true. I watch my BF play Battlefield and while it's PVP instead of coop, they have way more peeps on the field and larger maps and vehicles and soooo much stuff. Do their servers run wildly differently in some way that effects this?

Also, if I may be so bold as to suggest the idea of 4v4 squad competition in the same way that Black Ops II zombies pulled off in the "grief" gametype. I believe that could make things very interesting.
Then theres also my idea of a "survival" mode where you have no acess to consumables and grenades are scarce on the map. Then have it set up to where before the start of each wave, the game would ask if you'd like to continue (or even have it every X number of waves). If you chose yes, then the payout would increase.
Each player would have only one life, so if they were to go down then they would be out of the game and the prize would be divided up amongst the survivors. Now that I think about it, you could even set it up to where after X waves you earn a random consumable, or even have it where you can purchase them with points.
I think it would be interesting....
...That one's free Bioware, you're welcome.

To put it simply, there is almost nothing similar about ME and Battlefield right now. It could be that a move to a Frostbite engine will allow higher scale games.

Unless ME4 comes out sometime in the next couple months I think its safe to assume that it'll be on the next gen. The PS4 is already looking like a beast so I think next gen can handle it no problem.

Thanks for the reply. I get that they are wildly different games I was just wondering if BF's engine or servers or something is what is responsible for the game being able to support way more in a match than what people keep saying consoles can support when they ponder the next ME game. I really never got into the multiplayer aspect of gaming (and I've been gaming since the first CIv for DOS way back in '91 because I'm like old and crap) until this game. I never even played the MP for Civ and Starcraft (just didn't care to). Well unless you count my 10 year running Kingdom of Loathing addiction.
So I truly don't know how PvP vs. coop hoarde mode and yada yada yada affects performance. I don't know if BF has dedicated servers instead of the self host (or whatever it's called) thingy we have.

Aw, don't be that guy...
I'm sure next gen will have enough power under the hood for this. Especially if they put more effort into creating the MP mode from the start. I can't help but think this one was an experiment.
