Seriously though there are any number of good reasons that have been listed above for nuking spawns. In my case its usually to rack up the 3 killstreaks and to turn the tide if it looks like the team is going to be overwhelmed.. (its also a juicy target if 2 bosses i.e. Prats, Atlas, Primes, or Banshees are standing virtually on top of each other).

spawn nuke geth? nah.. i missle lone primes after their drones keep stunning me to death... seriously **** those little bosh'tets.

I feel like I haven't given enough evidence to everyone here

-we had a good juggernaut to draw aggro from all bosses

-PUG didn't help objective waves

- we had a drellfiltrator and geth trooper that could through enemies easily

- the enemy was cerberus, ot hard but not easy ethier.

- we were doing gnerally fine, but he nuked after 2 objectives he hadn't helped with were done

-and yes, he did nuke once or twice on 11

EDIT: also, for those who think I did react to quickly and harsh, I have messaged the man with apoligies for not knowing how widespreadly used the tactic is and overeacting.

I do this all the time and i am happy when others do as well. It makes games
go so much faster. And besides, you are gonna get killstreak medals when people
nuke spawns, so it benefits your score as well.

Spawn nuking when you're with a good group that's good a good vibe going is unnecessary and makes the game boring.

Spawn nuking on a slow run or when your team doesn't exactly inspire confidence is the best thing anybody could possibly do for their team.  Good guy, team player, etc...

I will do it when I am with friends who also do it as a courtesy to speed up the match, in bad PUG matches with people dying a lot, or the Collectors are %^&*ing me off with their BS.

Otherwise I try to save my missiles for objectives to clear crap near escorts/devices etc. I also like a save a missile or two for wave 11 to help others extract if needed, especially my friends.

The thing that your original post implies is that you think that points actually matter... They do not. Usually spawn nukers are just shortening waves to benefit the entire team.

In a nicer world you'd have remembered his username and you would now send him a message to apologise for making his fun gaming time feel unpleasant. EDIT - just read that you did that, that's very decent of you, much respect.

What he did was not what I do, but it was definitely not wrong or bad and cussing someone out in public games, when you're all there to relax and just have some fun is rarely cool.

Its a bit daft when people pull out their missiles in wave 11 and repeatedly nuke everything, that clearly is for points, it's especially stupid if they've not used missiles at other points in the game where things have been going badly, but I'd never bother to call them out over it. Ultimately it really doesn't impact on my enjoyment.

Who's the real score *****? The guy that nuked a spawn outside of wave 11, to make it easier for everyone, or you, who cares about it and doesn't want to waste a missile? Because goddamn, why even use consumables? Just to top the scoreboard?

I have no problem with spawn nukers.

Those players who uses a missile on a Banshee that's about to bite the dust? I'm quickly thinking "Now that was a waste", but it may be a good sign showing that they're willing to use their consumables.

I just do it to clear waves faster, if you don't like it op, then leave the game. It's not like your saving missiles for a rainy day.

Spawn nuking is different from point whoring. When someone's point whoring, you'll see them nuke the lone boss unit that was just about to die.

OP... you're a scrub. Nobody wants to play 30 minute games. Those missles save me 5-8 minutes of my life each game. Deal with it... you can use YOUR rockets on objective waves... I'll use mine to speed up the game.

Score really has nothing to do with it... depletion of the spawn budget is the goal.

Spawn nuking on objectives waves and extraction is a completely different story... that's when it's clearly score whoring. If you've ever played a game with No Snakes... you'd know what blatant score whoring looks like.
