You realize that score is meaningless when you play with elite players.

I've pugged the whole time I've played ME3MP and regularly topped the scoreboard. Yay.

I played with a few BSNers last night and couldn't keep up. Their manifests are more complete and they know how to kill much more efficiently, and chances are, they're just flat out BETTER THAN ME. It may not stay that way but that's what it is now. But when the games were over and I had been consistently outscored by 30-40k/match, they said "good games" and that was all I needed to hear. Nobody wants to think they aren't good at a game, and we're wired to think that score is the indicator that determines your skill level. It is only after playing with good players and perusing these forums that you figure it out.

Sadly, but most of the time I have to look at the score, because PUGs doing 20k on Platinum are someone you need to kick next round. And if someone outscores me, that makes me gain more concentration and kill more efficiently.

And I aint dickin' on lower-but-not-awful-score players if I see that they've made their part. Score is out there for a reason, don't ignore it, but either don't make it dominant.

it really does. every PUG i outscore adds 1 inch to my penis, i get 2 inches if i post the pics on BSN :innocent:

last night a board mate and I made bets on PUGs with horrible layouts to see how much they would score with a point spread of 10k

Until BW creates official events in which score matters, N7 matters, or even challenge points matters, then it really doesn't matter officially... it only matters to those which need their egos inflated.

Its why the unofficial contests on this board are fun, because then you are able to use various techniques in not simply killing the targets, but how they are killed to accentuate the score more

basically, we need a contest and sponsors so people could put their money where their mouths is... or rather, where the keyboards lay...

on a platform which the master race can't use bots for aiming
or couldn't used a fully specced kit
or many of the other glitches that are in the game..

we had this cool MP for a year, there should be an official contest of players somewhere like other games.

And without it, there will be much more better players out there.
