Personally I kick people who have less points than me usually, because if they can't get as many ponits as me, they A. don't need to be in the game, and/or B. aren't doing anything to help.

That being said, it's because I'm almost always dead last in points, I pick people up and protect the backside (which sometimes means I don't actually find an enemy in a couple waves because they don't get behind us, which is fine) I usually score 20-40K a game, including plats. I'm a support no matter what class I play or equips I use, and I'm just fine with that.
I'm simply not a gun-ho or sniper type, I sit and make sure bad things don't happen and when I know they're going to happen I can warn people beforehand so either it won't go bad or it won't go quite as bad.

I prefer when a team hunkers down to fight in one single area holding all things off, like how many people do in plat giant, makes it easy for me to get a few kills, watch their backs fairly well, and revive everyone constantly. as well as being revived the few times i manage to go down.

I tend to get 50ish assits, and maybe 10-25 kills a game, if my partners can't do that much, then well chances are we aren't going to win even a gold match, as such I have no desire to play with them, I play less than what most people consider the bare minimum, I play worth crap to them because I'm not like them guns a blazing (which would mean all of us would die on like wave 3 since i'm not around to pick us all up).

So... basically what you're saying is... that you're relatively worthless. You contribution to the team is little more than a single Geth Scanner and some free medi-gel...

I used to consider myself a terrible player because I couldn't score well. Then I play a game where I am that one guy who clutches all the rounds, saving some teams payday, and realize that score means nothing. I play slowly (with most kits) and don't score that well compared to others. But give me an empty map with no teammates to mess with the spawn or distract me, and I will become a ... better player. I still don't think I'm even half as good as some of the guys on here, but who cares anyway?

Without a doubt the score system has hurt this game in many ways. For one as already mentioned getting kills gets you more points...then say doing 95% of the damage...I would award that guy the kill not the guy coming in at the last minute.

It also makes people behave like tards and omly use kits that can get kills, whether thats really all that helpful or not to the team. A simple option to hide your score, or turn off score reporting would have helped tremendously.

No you are probably a better player than the top scorers. It means you aren't wasting your time and causing all kinds of havoc racing to get the kill over other guys.

Your comment is too generalised OP. In nearly every PUG game I play there are players with low scores who are having fun anyway.
Are you talking about the very small group of very good players who have a larger than average ego and get upset/annoyed if they don't top score every time ?

I don't really care about this. Yeah, I've had a few games where I come last (someone has to, right?). As long as I pull my weight and others do the same.

At the end of the day, the goal is to beat the enemy faction. Each player has their role - whether it's hitting the heavy bosses, reviving other players or getting the objectives. Each member in the team brings different talents.

I mostly don't care, as long as I feel like I've had a good match and the team worked well. If I sink beyond an acceptable level compared to the rest of the team, I get grumpy, since I feel like I've not been helping. If I come out top, there is a small smile I can't deny... the more it happens, the better, it means I'm getting better at the game, so it's a personal achievement.

The ones that really care about score tend to be < 20 and will use Their Best Build or they'll talk through the whole game telling you how to play :)

I don't understand how the score Is related to how much fun I'm having.Yes I typically come first or second place on the scoreboard but that Is beside the point; I didn't work to get there, I played the game and had fun.
The only way I could think It matters Is when those that discriminate against players because of their score get Involved, and even then It's only going to result In a kick or verbal abuse that you do not have to listen to.
Just move on to a new lobby or play with friends, the chances of you finding another set of players in the next lobby who discriminate for score will probably be low, and If not keep on searching.

If you let people give you a hard time for your score you can only blame yourself If you don't do anything about It.
You have the ability to leave a game or lobby at any time.
Nobody Is going to rage at you before a match when nobody has even scored, It's unlikely the same would happen during the game as nobody knows what you will end up with unless you do consistantly terrible throughout the match (then people would rage due to lack of skill as oposed to score anyhow) and even If you did recieve a low score at the end of the match and got abuse for It there's absolutely nothing stopping you from leaving Instantly.

Obligatory  face.

I would say that this view is much more indicative of the general MP community than the OPs post.

Why is GOD image so important to some people?

Good question.
Care to elaborate why you would make threads like social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/343/index/15782013 if you don't care?

I already answered that. It was for lolz

I just got kicked for the strangest reason ever.

xbox, Turian Saboteur, gold.

So I scored the lowest, but I got kicked for kill stealing with a Krysae.  Huh?

Score often indicates efficiency.

It kind of decides who was sandbaggin or overall sucking. It depends on the point gap as well.

I don't care about points, if I'm gonna nuke something, it's either because it'll make the wave go faster, or because it was a Geth Prime.

**** primes.

you know, people dont have to make a thread to say "hey great job dude".

sometimes it is a simple as headbutts, melee's, and side flips to give someone a high-five.

also the player not getting kicked after usually says something as well, even tho i dont kick people i just leave.

even chill games can go south, so people busting out nukes to save others or themself is obviously someone trying to top the scoreboard.

just the other day i had a scoreboard player trying to catch up to my score, so he was leaving the objectives to us and nuking spawns in objective waves.
so i started nuking whole spawns of swarmers after i would gun a ravager down, i even saved a teammates life by nuking those 5 swarmers that were about to take him down!! he had full shields, but BY GOD I SAVED HIM!!!

needless to say that dude left after the game when he didnt beat my score, which case i didnt care if he did, i was just doing that to show him i didnt care.
i was playing a full DPS class as well, so it is a no brainer i would come in high on the score.

score does not matter to me, as long as everyone is playing as a team and having fun.
only people that get on my nerves is the dudes that wont help with objectives or even revive the dude at their feet when there is no danger to do so. (granted i missed a few revives b4, but you know what im talking about)

I only nuke extraction if I'm passing through or if I'm getting stun locked to death but I don't do it for the purpose to up my score. I really don't need to :crying:

stikman has your balls here i'm afraid cain. i'm not sure if you're trying to take the Pis* out of yourself with this thread, but you ALWAYS care about score. at the end of each game you're suprised when someone has outscored you and even make a point of it "wow, you outscored me".
you even completed a wave 10 on a speedrun when we all said we were bleeding out. you took 5 mins running around buffing your score, instead of just dropping so we could run another game.

this thread is nonsense, get a girlfriend. or spend more time with miss hand and her five daughters
