Should I be ashamed at myself that I suck so much at this game that I have to use cheats to enjoy it?

No, you should be happy that you can find a way to enjoy it.

No! Play the game however you need to enjoy it! I can only play on normal, and even then, have to switch back to easy to defeat the (spoiler of two bosses)
damn high dragon and Branka
So, play however you like

That's what I've been thinking. Still, it's a bit shameful to have 580 Willpower, and use Final Blow on all bosses.

It is not shameful but I think you would get less fulfillment by using cheats.
You could try starting the game on easy, and after 30mins or 1 hour of combat switch it to normal and then hard and nightmare. I can find more enjoyment when playing the games without cheats and on nightmare difficulty.
But of course it's you who's playing the game not the game playing on you. Just play however you like as long as you could enjoy it.

I have a friend that plays all his games with maximum cheats, and that is fine. What pisses the rest of us off is when we are talking about be stuck in a certain part of a game or whatever and his input is always a loud "I JUST PUT ON THE CHEAT MODE AND USED A SHOTGUN TO HIS FACE OVER AND OVER!"
He's actually a smart guy, but when games come up it is like having an an aggressive baboon waiting to throw his feces at you then grinning like it helped.

lol. I stay away form the cheats...but also play on casual. I like to play the story. I think on my next play through I'll be ready to move up to normal, though. I'm cake-walking through this time.
How people manage to solo on nightmare...completely flabbergasts me...but I'm with the others who said to play however you need to play to have fun!

You might want to try making adjustments to your party and lowering the difficulty. The first time through, I found easy very challenging. I didn't have a good handle on combat or tactics, and was levelling the way I would have in a different game, which didn't work well here. It makes a big difference who's in your party, and those needs can change depending on the fight. The second time, I went to normal, and found it very hard, but doable. I'm on my third go round, and I'm finding normal a little too easy, except for certain big fights. Next time I'll increase the difficulty again. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that for people who aren't familiar with this combat style or RPGs, there's a learning curve. Don''t be so hard on yourself.
ROTFL!
Damn. You are one funny guy, Sloth.

There really isn't much differenc between casual and norma except yu have to watch your friendly fire, you should do fine. The biggest leap is casual to hard..hard to nightmare doesn't change that much.
I am still slowly chipping away at my sl nightare rogue, and although i find t fun, sometimes I just load up my nrmal-difficulty paty and plow through some genlocks. I guess i am lucky that i can have fun by playing different ways where others can't.

Not at all. I've done the game on normal (I went on nightly bingers
) but decided I really wanted to go sword and shield instead, so I'm doing it again...but on easy, because now figuring out the fights is over and I just want the story.
It's single player, whatever makes it fun for you/matters to you! If it ain't figuring out combat that you enjoy...don't do it! lol

You should be ashamed of yourself for feeling ashamed of yourself for that.

No, not really, but perhaps it would be helpful for you if you gave some examples what you suck at or are having trouble with so we can help you out and so that you don't have to cheat? Just a thought.
