Nope. MP is nothing more than a gimmick in a gsme like this. As someone who plays games such as these to interact with well-written and acted NPCs, the idea of MP is sonething I find very odd.

We don't have any details so it's hard to get excited for something that might not even exist. :/

I wouldn't say I'm looking forward to possible DA3 multiplayer, but I'm cautiously optimistic about it. I was pretty unenthusiastic about ME3's multiplayer, but I ended up really enjoying it, and sinking more hours into it than I ever would have expected. It even became a bonding activity with my son, who would gladly sit on my laptop all day, every day and play it if I didn't make him do other trivial things like eat, use the bathroom, exercise, and play with friends.

If done right, I can see DA3 multiplayer being another activity I'd enjoy with him. And when I suggested it might happen, he positively vibrated out of this dimension in happiness.

So, yes. I guess I'm a little excited for possible DA3 multiplayer.

Wow, I've played most of Bioware games starting from Baldur's Gate, including Jade Empire and I'm kinda shocked the people that want Bioware to return to their "roots" don't like combat. What if their version of "old-skool" Bioware games are totally different from mine? Uhoh. I have much much less in common with other Bioware "fans" than I thought. I'm the silent minority.

On topic, I don't mind MP. Even though Frostbite has proven itself as a good MP engine, it is still the DA's team first try at a new engine, new tools. So with the given timeframe that they have, I have reservations about how good the MP can be. On the other hand, ME3's MP is buggy as hell and I still enjoyed it. But I doubt people will put up with another buggy MP experience.

Hahah that's really cute. I've played husband/wife or bf/gf teams before, but not parent/child.

Aww, thanks!

I played with my husband, too, but his attention span for games is quite short, so we haven't played anything other than SW:TOR in awhile.

As long as SP campaign is not affected, yes. I am so looking forward for it.

I am looking forward to it.

I really hope that they build off of the ME MP's foundation and give us an even more robust character customization (interchangeable armor pieces including stat changes), more variatiy in same class combinations (no kits, swappable power/ability load outs) and most of all, truely unique character races to play as in a co-operative setting (things like Sylvans, Awakened Darkspawn, Werewolves, Golems, Malibari war hounds, ect. All complete with their very own animations and attacks; werewolves can run on all fours and attack with teeth and claws.)

Isn't Jos Hendriks on the DAI team now?

Because yesterday he was in the ME3MP forum, taking people's feedback on the MP maps' design

Looking forward to it even more now.

Yes, self-necroB)

I only ever remember there's a multiplayer when I see a thread about it on here :P
I'm hoping it works well though. I can't see it being typical kill each other/a bunch of enemies to win though. It doesn't really seem to fit with the gameplay of Dragon Age. Of cour I imagine that's getting reworked as well so I may be wrong.
But really, I play Bioware games for the awesome characters and interesting stories. If I'm going to be playing the multiplayer, I will need alot of encouragement.

I'm indifferent. Was pleasantly surprised by the ME 3 MP so we'll see.

MP in DA will reach out to newcomers, perniciously saturating the DA experience from other forerunners. Change is a necessity in the watchful eye of business, as long as money is its mediator between buyer & seller. Change, to reach a larger audience will leave one group wanting & the other group hating. If money resides in MP, then BioWare will dutifully (in their eyes) prostitute for EA as a mandate.

No, I'm not. ME3's MP was really good, but as I found out, it doesn't matter how good it is, I am not motivated to play MP beyond trying it out once or twice to see what I might be missing. I don't mind its presence, though, as long as it doesn't infringe on the SP like it did in ME3 pre-EC.

No. If Bioware wants to do it they should do it, after finishing the game, as a dlc.

I am indifferent. Whatever they do with it, let it not hinder SP's development. Of course it won't since there'll be two separate teams working on it.

I would be ECSTATIC if Bioware took this approach. Heck, even if they released it as the D1DLC, that would be fantastic.

I doubt it would be easily possible, due to size requirements of the base elements of the MP gameplay... but, then again, I wouldn't mind if the content that was already on the disc was unlocked by the DLC code if said DLC was for a gameplay element, like MP, as opposed to story-plot items.

I actually do. Unless BW team somehow will to make it into shooter. And even then I'll give it ago just to discover how they managed to do that.

As I've stated before yes i am looking forward to it. And I'll say right now, just as with the ME3 multiplayer a good many people who hate the idea of it on these forums now will enjoy it if they give it a try after they play the sp game a time or two.

And many (MANY) other people point at ME3's MP as the pinnacle of doing gaming wrong. Microtransactions, tying participation in MP to outcomes in SP, constant equipment grinding, simplistic and limited modes (just one Horde more), etc.

You may have enjoyed ME3's MP, but to many of us, it was an abomination. Please keep it far, FAR away from DA.

That ship has sailed IMO (see the post why I bumped the thread).
