Signature Images (DAO) - sample

Also I was wondering if any creative folks have made any DAO based signature images they would like to share. I love making siganture images.
I have created two for DAO and trying to make up my mind which I like best, the brighter border or the darker. They are in my album:
Dark Border: social.bioware.com/2917/albums/3159/505
Red/Blood Border: social.bioware.com/2917/albums/3159/503

Although ive noticed there is a size restriction on signitures so your image might be too big to fit in.

Got it :-) Thanks (although I had to use {img} instead of {url} and had to really shrink the size. Seems a hieght of 50 pixels is about the max. Not sure on length - I may try another design that has the small height but is longer.Vormalon wrote...
Click on the BBCode button and encase your picture's location in {url} {/url} (only with the square brackets)

Thanks for the feedback all - seems like the dark border wins

I am happy with small - but I do like being able to post something. They are so much fun to create.

They disrupt the forum flow more than anything else (even badly coloured text). And nobody really cares about it, either -- you may be a great 2D artist, but when I've seen your art once I don't want to be spammed with it everytime you make another post. I think it's a real shame they've allowed it here.Vormalon wrote...
Why the hate for the IMG tag? Provided its used... sensiblyLike the tiny little sig pic KethWolfheart now has.

I do see your point even if I do not agree. As mentioned sometimes it really overwhelms the forums. But in a game environment I consider them to add a nice flavor to posts.
The statement "and nobody really cares about it" is just an opinion though and not universal. It just means "you really don't care about it". I am sure others dislike them as well, but there are also plenty who do like them. If people didn't like them they would not be so popular.
I know I really enjoy seeing them, I like how creative people get. I also enjoy text signatures. I get some of my best quotes from those.
EDIT: I was thinking about this - what would be VERY COOL is an option under settings so that each account user could toggle whether they saw other peoples signatures or not. Then you get the best of both worlds.

You make a good point. And i agree with you, when theres no size limit, but i think the dainty little pictures you have to make to fit into these signitures arent overly intrusive. Then again... if EVERYONE had there own, it could get quite busy.Snoteye wrote...

That makes an excellent arguement for your case!Snoteye wrote...
This is why the IMG tag shouldn't be allowed. No offence to the owner.
However I prefer to not punish everyone by restricting something just because some folks dislike it. That leads down a tricky slope very quickly. I find some preset avatars rather ugly - the white robot face for one, which hardly fits in - maybe we should ban avatars and smileys and color and just have all plain text.
I would rather take the good with the bad than let someone else decide what is pleasing or not. Everyone has their own taste, and as long as its not obscene, or hateful, or the like, people should be free to express themselves.
Of course a flag to disbale seeing them is the best of both worlds, but don't see that as an option at the moment. But then if it gets out of hand Bioware can always remove it.

Thanks - at a couple of suggestions I tried to mix them - like the dragon blood is leaking into the border. Still needs some work though ... fiddling with how things fade out and overall intensity.Napoleon1853 wrote...

Absolutely. I wasn't meaning to make a big deal out of it, either, I just wanted to voice my conservative opinion and then happened to come across, as you said, an excellent argument supporting said opinion. A signature disabler would certainly solve my problem but I would also miss out on all the wittiness.KethWolfheart wrote...

I'll go on a limb and say they aren't popular because everyone else cares about others' signature images but because everyone cares about their own signature images. They think it's neat and want to show the world but don't ask the world if it wants to see. That's what I meant by nobody caring. It's not so much that I dislike seeing them or find them inherently ugly, I'm simply annoyed with the effect (I think) they have on the forums.KethWolfheart wrote...

And I'll stress that it's not signatures but (signature) images. Bad colours can be just as bothersome but I find that there is more of an argument to made for allowing text colours than images.
