Hello, everyone. This is where I will be posting, and updating, my Dragon Age novel. I have been writing for some years now, and I've had many experience with literature. Whilst I am still only fifteen, I feel that I am quite a capable writer, and hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing it.

(Oh yeah, and sorry, but I didn't know where else to add this topic. If anyone could link me to a more preffered forum, that'd be great!)

**WARNING**

May contain spoilers. In this particular case, I named the main charactwer Aedan (the default name for the Human Male Noble) as well as led him down the path of Morrigan's ritual, as well as her love. Enjoy.

Thanks! And please be aware that I, myself, am aware that there are type-o's. I will fix them as soon as I can. And remember: Constructive criticism is always appreciated!
___________

The Adventure Continues , , ,

The Blight has been stopped. The Darkspawn have fled back into the Deep Roads, remaining there until the start of a new blight. Alistair holds the crown alone, and the nations of Fereldon have been reunited and remain stronger than ever.

Aedan, now Hero of Fereldon and the Grey Warden who slew the Archdemon, has set himself upon a love-driven quest to find a woman known as Morrigan, whom left instantly after the victory of the Darkspawn without a word. Upon this personal quest, our Grey Warden comes upon a new evil: One far greater than the Darkspawn. Now, he must rally the forces of Fereldon and gather old friends in order to push this new threat back.
Fereldon, once again, rests in his hands . . .

___________

Author's Notes: I realize I mispelt "Ferelden". I apologize, and will go over it as soon as I find the time.

Chapter One: The Adventure Continues

Two years after the end of the Blight...

Aedan, the Hero of Fereldon, lay in the bed of his large room. In his hands lay an onject, which he stared into deeply, cuddling it within his grasp. On certain nights, he could have sworn that the magical ring allowed him to speak with Morrigan; on others, he even believed that he could feel her emotions.

Morrigan had once said that the ring held a bond between the two. Perhaps feeling one another's feelings, no matter the miles, was apart of the enchantment.

Aedan sighed, and there was a knock at his door.

"Mind if I come in?" a voice asked.

"You need not even ask, your Highness." Aedan responded with a smile.

The King of Fereldon laughed, and entered his fellow Grey Warden's quarters. "Still making kissy faces at the ring, I see?"

"I'm so close, Alistair," Aedan said, looking distantly into the ring. "I can feel her. I can feel Morrigan... she's out there. I just don't know where."

"Yes, well..." Alistair trailed off awkwardly. He had never approved of Morrigan, nor could he see or even begin to understand why Aedan had fallen in love with her. She was a maleficar, a fiend. "Perhaps you would like to hear what I have to say?"

Aedan looked up hopefully. Alistair continued. "One of our search parties found a woman who matches the description of Morrigan. Better yet, the woman was also seen with a child. Perhaps it was your child." The King watched as the Grey Warden's hope were raised. "Now, don't get all excited. It may not even be her."

"Where, Alistair? Where did they see this woman?"

"In the Frostback mountains. That's all we known." Alistair sighed with a shrug. "But enough of that, that's not the reason I came up here. We have a guest: An old friend."

Aedan cocked an eyebrow, as he tried to guess on who it might be. "Very well," he said, slipping the ring back onto his finger and heading towards the door. He stopped just before the entrance, bowed, and waved towarda Alistair. "After you, my Lord," he said with a wicked smile.

"Hah-hah," Alistair commented sarcastically, taking an exit. Aedan followed.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

"Sten?!" Aedan exclaimed in astonishment as he pulled into the great hall of Denerim's royal palace. He rushed up to greet the Quinari warrior with a bear hug. Sten coughed awkwardly, unfamiliar with Human customes.

"Yes, well..." the Quinari said, patting Aedan on the back.

"Why are you here? I thought you returned to your people?"

"I did." Sten replied. "I am back."

"But why?"

"I told yoiu that I owed you a debt. I am here to repay it."

"How?"

Sten grumbled, annoyed by the questions. Quinari were not known for their patience. "By whatever means you wish of me."

"Right..." the Warden trailed off.

"Oh, what fun this is going to be." Alistair commented from behind. "Just like the olden days. Pillow fights, hair brushing, and knitting." The king sniffed as if he were about to cry. "Except now we get to do it without the Darkspawn."

"We never did any of those things, Alistair," Aedan replied, laughing at his sense of humor. Though Alistair was king now, he hadn't really changed. Often were the times he would crack a joke during a speech, feast or festival.

"Ohhh, right." Alistair said, snapping his fingers for enthusiasm. "It was dragon slaying, monster killing, and long marches." He shrugged. "I'm always getting those confused. Well maybe now we could do the other ones?"

"Your human rituals are unsettling." Sten said bluntly, unaware of Alistair's impliment being a joke.

Aedan gazed longinly at the ring Morrigan had given him. He turned to Sten, and asked a question. "You are in my debt, old friend? You will follow me if I desire?"

"Your will is my command." the Quinari replied.

"Good." he heaved a sigh, and came to a conclusion. "We leave tomorrow. Towards the Frostback mountains."

Alistair chuckled unsuredly. "Wh-- what? You're actually going to try and find Morrigan?"

"I am." Aedan said, gazing Alistair in the eye. "I know you do not approve of her, my friend. But this is something I must do."

The King looked towards the floor and nodded. "Very well." he said. "I will have two horses ready for you in the morning, as well as supplies."

"Thank you, Alistair," the Warden said, grasping him on the shoulder as a sign of gratitude.

"I was told there would be cake." Sten glanced around, trying to find the feasting hall. Food was the only part of Fereldon he enjoyed. He had taken an odd interest in cake some years ago during the Blight. Now he craved it. "I see no cake. The cake is a lie."

Aedan let out a small chuckle, and followed Alistair as he lead the two to the feasting hall. Along the way, he could have sworn to himself that he had heard Morrigan's voice, though the word was indistinct. He gazed at the ring warmily again.

If you're out there, Morrigan, he thought to himself. I'm coming to find you.

Lol. don't worry, I use the default name for all my characters unless it's another of the same class.  I think it's much easier for fanfic writers to just use the default name given so some people won't be confused so much.

Nice intro... I never suspected Sten could be so nice but maybe I was a bit harsh with him.

I will follow the stories of the lovestruck Aedan, than k you for posting them.

You could surely create a group to write your stories but you would lose all visibility so the forum seems a nice place for now. I will certainly check on your work.

Chapter Two: A New Threat

Dwarven scouts Gilrem and Doron both grumbled as they marched through the snows of the Frostback mountains.

"Sod it all," Gilrem huffed from an unusually white beard, having collected a mass amount of snow. "We're no damn surfacers. I hate leaving Orzammar. Why are we the scouts?"

"Somebody's gotta do it." Doron replied, ankles deep in the white substance. "With the help of that new Golem, Shale, I will admit that the Darkspawn have been losing quite a few battles in the Deep Roads. But now that Harrowmount has decided to try to reclaim them, the bastards have been everywhere in the mountains, crawling out their holes." He grunted. "Wouldn't want them to get too close to Orzammar's gates."

"I still say 'sod it'," Gilrem retorted, stoping in his tracks. "Can we atleast take a break?" he pleaded. "My feet are killing me."

"Make it quick. We only have a little further to go until we can return."

Gilrem nodded thankfully, and bent over, catching his breath. Dwarve's were not built for long marches; Gilrem would much rather be battling to the death in The Proving than marching through the Frastback Mountain's weathered snows. He inhaled, straightened up, and nodded. "I think I'm goo-" The Dwarf's words hung in the air. Faster than Doron could keep up with, his Dwarven comrade had toppled over, dead, in red-filled blood with an arrow in his back.

Doron quickly, frantically, looked around, trying to spot his attackers. His vision was restricted, due to the mass amount of snow and fog. Sod it! he thought as an arrow with every intent to end him flew by his head. Without hesitation, the Dwarf turn to ran, leaving his fallen comrade behind.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

"Where are we going?" Sten asked as Aedan attached his gear to the saddle of his horse. The Qunari was already atop of his.

"First," Aedan replied, grunting as hed pulled haerd on one of the saddle's leather straps. "We need to head to Orzammar. Nobody knows the mountains like the Dwarves, and we'll need a guide." He ruubed his chin thoughtfully. "It might also be a good chance to drop in on Oghren. Maybe even Shale, is she's still there."

"The Golem?" Sten asked with a slight amount of hope in his voice. The Quinari and Shale had developed some sort of an odd freindship and resepct for eachother some odd years ago during the Blight.

"Yes." Aedan confirmed, as he climbed onto his Chestnut horse. "The Golem."

Alistair came out to the gates to bid the two farewell. "Well," he began awkwardly. "I... I hope you find her, Aedan."

The Warden clasped the King's shoulder from his saddle. "That means alot to me, my friend." He released Alistair's shoulder, and nodded toward Sten. The giant warrior nodded in return, and pulled the reigns of the horse, instructing it to ride forward. Aedan did the same, and the two quickly rode out of the gates of Denerim, leaving the King behind to attend to his duties.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

When nightfall had come, the Warden and the Quinari found a site and set up camp. Aedan lay around the fire on watch as Sten slept in the tent, gazing into it with Morrigan on his mind. He imagined the fire's warmth was her own, it's burning and accepting embrace her's as well. Instinctively, he raised his hand, gazing toward the ring. It shone bright, and he kissed it tentively.

My Love, a voice echoed inside Aedan's head. The Warden's eyes widened. The voice sounded exactly like Morrigan's.

"M-- Morrigan...?" Aedan replied in a whisper.

Yes. 'Tis I, my love. It has been awhile since last we spoke. the voice echoed again.

"Am I..." Aedan trailed off. "Am I going insane?"

No. You are not imagining this; 'tis real. I... there was a breif pause. I have contacted you for a reason. As much as I didn't want to... it must be said.

"'Didn't want to?'" Aedan responded with a frown.

No. I did not want to. For selfish reasons. I thought that... that if I were to contact you, that I might become weak. Might crave you. But I mustn't. Not for my sake, but for your own.

"Morrigan, I--"

Stop. I must get to the point. You mustn't comem after me. 'Tis too dangerous. I can sense your location with the ring; I know what you are doing. Stop it. Please... for me. I... You have no idea what is happening. If you pursue me, I will flee. If you continue, I will as well.

"Morrigan, what's going on--?"

NO! Morrigan roared. You must not follow! Do you understand? Can you promise me?

"I cannot make that promise." Aedan replied gravely. "Nor will I stop..."

Inside the Warden's head, there was something that sounded like a choked sob. You damned fool... Morrigan said in a whisper. And then silence.

"Morrigan?" Aedan whispered. The silence remained. The Warden sighed, gazed towards the stars and joined Morrigan in silence. His mind was on a mixture of things. What was Morrigan talking about? Where was she? How was he in danger? After assessing every possible question, he came with one logical answer.

He'd have to find her to find out.

Tallon, my hubby is the same way. He claims it's from serving in the Navy. Me, well, I no longer have a blood stream, I have a caffeine stream. In fact, my doctor got on me and demanded I cut back on Monster energy drinks -- apparently, they can hurt your kidneys. LOL

I think for me it stems from being bottle fed coffee as a toddler. No effect what so ever...I mean shaking down glass shelves and coming out unscathed is the true power of coffee to a toddler.

Apparently
not, so I guess I'll throw my two cents in. It's nice to see something
that isn't a pairing with Alistair. Still don't understand what women see in him...

Anyway, aside from some spelling and grammatical errors (ex, dwarves, not dwarve's), don't really see anything wrong. =D

Yeah, this is the unmastered version (which I think I mentioned in my summary) so I won't be focusing too much on grammatical or spelling errors.
