We Need a Silver to Gold Migration, For the "Good of the Game"

For certain of my favorite kits (Drellfiltrator!), I'll start mainly playing them in Gold - and for all of my fellow silverites who have become pretty proficient with certain classes, I hope you'll consider doing the same. Stomping silver can be fun for a short while, but I'm sure it makes it an exercise in frustration for those coming up from bronze and finding maps littered with nothing but enemy corpses.
TL;DR: It'd be great if good silver players could consider using their good classes on gold instead, so the new players coming from bronze can still enjoy the game.

A Gold capable player plays gold... realises that he as to carry the team full of silver level pug players.
Decides to play silver to relax and release steam.
A just graduated from bronze player decides to up the challenge and attempts silver.
Finds silver too easy due to the above player... and said "Hey if i can do this easy i can do GOLD"
And up he goes... and ends up being carried by the gold player above...
And its goes on and no...........

In the later gold waves theres plenty to kill for all in a PUG.
Funny enough I had the same experience in plat with some BSNers. 4 people who REALLY know how to slaughter makes even plat a "Jesus, I cant find anything to kill" game.

If we start blaming players for making game too easy.. there is no end for it.

If you find silver too easy, you should be playing gold. If you think the quality of silver players has increased, it is likely true for Gold also.
I'm beginning to do this more regularly now - it's still fun to completely wipe out whole segments of the map in silver, but I noticed that it really is frustrating for the other players. When this happens, the playstyle of the other players becomes noticeably more desperate and frantic, racing to find stuff to kill, instantly missiling bosses (even relatively harmless ones like the Atlas) upon seeing them so they can do SOMETHING.
And silver is only too easy for me with certain classes: almost all infiltrators, grenade classes, certain adepts. I'll stick to silver with characters I still haven't gotten the hang of (Talon Merc, I'm looking at you).

Just let players do whatever they want in Silver.. as long as they are playing it legitimately and not leeching/trolling.

No, no blame at all, I have no problem with folks just stomping silver. I just feel bad when I do it to other players, so I'm voluntarily retiring some of my better characters from silver...and wanted to encourage other silver players in the same boat to do the same.
It's probably pissing in the wind (a messy and unadvisable practice) at this point, but this is my favorite multiplayer experience ever, and I hope it will have a great player base for as long as possible. Hence my public service announcement style post.
It's for the starving pugs, for heaven's sake, won't SOMEONE think of the starving pugs???

Some players like to feel OP every game though and aren't a fan of feeling challenged.
This, I would be rampaging around silver if I didn't need to still unlock more stuff.

Actually, I found mostly friendly helpful players in the limited times I've gone into gold...but WHERE WAS THE CAKE???

Why Silver? Firstly, lag and rubberbanding. I get that a lot. As an Asian player, my prime playtime overlaps with the Europeans. So if I get a European host, it sucks. I played Silver for a greater margin of error. Second, variety of kits. There's some kits I enjoy playing, but I don't really perform well with them. If I play them on Gold or Plat, I'm going to die a lot. But Silver's fine.
But now I play mostly Gold PUGs. Why? First, DoubleHell's rubberbanding fix. It doesn't eliminate lag, but it fixes rubberbanding. Good enough. Second, as I've gotten better at the game, the number of kits I can play decently at the Gold/Plat level has increased, especially including the new Retaliation kits. So there's enough variety for me...but I still drop to Silver to play some kits, or test builds.

I'd love to experience this on plat, just once...
I've only played in 6 plat games, shamefully 4 out of those I went in as a juggernaut out of a lack of confidence (rightfully kicked after one of those matches for slowing them down). The other two times I went as my favorite gold class, huntress, and was surprised that I not only had a lot more fun, but was contributed much better to the team, even leading the scoreboard in one match. In which we ended up getting stomped, of course. It's really not a good sign when I'm leading the board....

I typically play Gold PUGs now, but for the longest time I was running Silver PUGs, and only Gold with people I know.

I hear you, I'm also playing from Asia, and lag really kills my game a lot of the time. Unfortunately, I'm on Xbox, so no rubberbanding fixes for me... I often have to stick to classes less affected by lag. Collectors on lag is just murderous, and is it just me, or do collector games seem to be about 60-80% more likely to be laggy??

(looks at manifest) - ok, I'm getting better at this, but it'll be a very long time before I'm ready to hang with the likes of you...
I'd definitely end up being the guy who missiles the last lonely husk standing, just to kill SOMETHING. ANYTHING.

It shows a little commitment.
Sometimes (not often) things go really bad and the willingness to use a rocket or gel is sorely lacking. Yes I know I should prob be playing gold more, but silver is where my heart is an dammit if I want a team with me that I can count on if needed.
People using consumables shows a willingness and while I never equip more that gear while looking for a game, once I hit the lobby I always add lvl 1 stuffs.
Honestly, what else are you saving it for?
