Hey, I redeemed my codes on the website successfully, yet when I open DA:O, the DLC is still not available for me to download. I got my codes from steam if that makes a difference.

Yes, I have restarted DA:O multiple times.
Yes, I have logged in an out repeatedly.
Yes, I searched the forum for this problem, but couldn't anything that related to me, so sorry if this has been brought up before.

If anyone has any ideas, please tell me :).

I have seen a lot of posts with people saying similiar things. Are you redeeming you codes from the games start menu? I was wondering if people are going directly to the website and redeeming verses doing it through the game. Try these instructions and if it doesn't work please post at what point it went wrong and the error.

To redeem:

1. Start Game

2. Log in with your BioWare/EA Online Account (from the game, not the website)

3. From the Dragon Age: Origins Main Menu, select "Downloadable Content"

4. Select "Redeem Code" (it's the "Y" on 360)

5. Follow the on-screen instructions

*Code expires April 30, 2010.*

If you are referring to step 2. I may have over simplified, what I ment was let the game direct you to the website, don't go there directly yourself. I'm not a programmer, but it seems that the game has to sync with the EA account. I suspect going to the website directly and not launching the game could be the cause of the problem for a few people.

Yeah, I went to the website straight from the game, and made sure I was logged in when I did it. If I can't get it to work I'll just try again later or something.

Having the same issues myself. My items are downloading, except the Memory Band, which reset to 0% twice now. The only one to actually install itself was the Luck Stone. It would be nice to be able to just find a way to click install and have it be done with. However, it doesn't seem there is a way for me to be able to do that. Anyone have any idea how this game shifts from a complete download to installing this content?

DrogonSkye, are you using Steam or some other direct to drive service for DA:O? I would normally recommend deleting the DLC on your drive and then doing a clean re-install. However, it is possible it will not let you re-download the DLC without some kind of customer service support. It could be that it see's the files on your drive and doesn't give the option to download (deleting the files would fix), or it could be the server side recorded they have already been downloaded (ie.. they activation key used) and won't allow another download.

Magrus, what platform are you using? I only have the 360 version atm, PC is arriving later today. When I start my game it always does a 'Validating DLC' I believe this is the point where the game checks for any addition items/quests/etc and the DLC files you have are added to the game.

PC, I did the pre-order thing through www.direct2drive.com a few months ago. Blah, now the game is having server errors. It would have made a hell of a lot more sense to just bundle these items into my download, that way I could play the game with them when I got it rather than waiting for days in order to do so.

Magrus,

That's exactly why I prefer Gamestop instore pick-up. Getting the key codes and the game at the same time, but they were sold out of the CE pre-orders. I'm not sure if it means anything but when I was looking through the forums most the people having problems with the DLC seemed to be using either Steam or D2D. Could be a fluke, could be something like you have to start a new game after all the DLC is downloaded to see it. I would recommend re-installing the game in your case. The D2D server must have been slammed hard last 2 days. Then seeing if you can get the DLC.

Yeah, I uninstalled and reinstalled it, started a new game, all of that. I suppose I'll just wait it out and try next week or something.

this part in the troubleshooting worked for me with a digital copy off the game.

....3.2.1. Making sure the Dragon Age Updater Service installed properly

1.) Press the windows key + R (or click Start and then RUN) and type in services.msc and press ENTER

2.) Locate the Dragon Age: Origins - Content Update in the list of services.

3.) If i t's not listed, go to 3.2.3 otherwise go to 3.2.2

....3.2.2. Manually start the Dragon Age Updater Service if present

1.) Press the windows key + R (or click Start and then RUN) and type in services.msc and press ENTER

2.) Locate the Dragon Age: Origins - Content Update in the list of services.

3.) Right click it and select START

4.) If nothing happens, run the game check the DLC content section again

5.) In case of an error or a timeout go to 3.2.4

....3.2.3. Installing the Dragon Age Updater Service if it's missing

I've been having this issue with version 1.0. running windows Vista Ultimate, Stone Prisoner and Wardens purchased in game via on-line points system. Points deducted, shows up as registered in my profile. Tech. Support even tried a different e-mail address/system which I initiated just for this problem. Issue was not yet resolved as of 25 November. See below
