Don't use earthquake weapons or powers around sniping teammates.
Don't stand in the way of teammates using weapons.
Don't ignore short range pest like Phantoms,Dragoons,Guardians,Hunters,Pyros,Bombers,Husk,Brutes,Abominations,Seekers, and Swarmers.
Pay attention to your surroundings.
Don't Biotic Charge or Batarian punch the Banshee.
Don't horde grenades.

All are great advice, I agree.

N7 Engineer the other day. Used a generous amount of Arc Grenades (we were fighting Geth, getting G-Bomber'd left and right, almost couldn't keep them at bay.)

Most of the time, I was the only thing standing between the team and a close encounter of the wrong kind. Didn't mean to get the highest score but that's what happens when you grenade spam.

Got kicked after we won.

Too bad 98% of the PUGs who should read this never will.

I don't give any advice or tips unless someone asks for it. Too many people get butthurt when you give them tips or advice without them asking for it.

1. What?
2. Challange Accepted. :bandit:
3. Stick close to me.
4. I will use them as I please.
5. But it's funny.
6. See #4.
7. See #1.

Random stat: I have been kicked no less than three times for voting to kick a missile glitcher after a match.

For gold I agree mic is not indispensable.   But using a mic opens up the match to different posibilities and kits that can not only support each other but are fun to play, say for example 4 volus team, surprisingly fun and OP.

Meh, I've only kicked people who played so badly that they might has well have been leaching.

You've made a list of suggestions on how to be successful on higher difficulties. Some are helpful, some not, and some are just wrong. But regardless, they're overly rigorous as criteria for kicking people. Would you really kick somebody for trying to hold the LZ?

The only thing I can think of that would make that annoying is if your teammates where using biotics.

I'm not promoting kicking, just commenting on some of the reasons most players decide to kick.  I would appreciate if you could elaborate on your point of view of the different tips.

...or at the very least, know why you’re getting kicked.

I have had good and bad PuG experiences, this is something we
agree with my friends and everyone can relate.
So, I decided to start this post so we can share our opinion on how we
can help improve the PuG experience.

I have in mind some advice or etiquette pointers that less
experienced players and even more experienced could find useful for gold and platinum.

  •  Communication is key, always use a MIC.  You'd be surprised how many players will share they're experience or help you out if you help yourself first by asking.
  •  NEVER HOLD THE EXTRACTION AREA on wave 11.  Extraction area is a kill zone.
  •  Don't run off on your own, you put yourself and your team at risk.  Stick close to at least one teammate.
  •  Don't be cheap with consumables, that's what they are for.  Then again don't use them up on the first waves.
  •  Don't revive a fallen teammate while enemies are on top of him/her.  Either draw the away and someone else picks him/her up or kill them and then revive. There's no hurry.
  •  Always use consumables on Objetive Waves if necessary, not helping with objectives is a Kickable offense.
  • Language. Don't worry if your english is "not to good", if you can say "Banshee Behind You", we're good.
I know I'm forgetting some other good points, If you guys have some on mind or disagree with some of mine share them with us.

Note.  This is a Team Play game. A good player can handle his own and carry a game.  A great player has his teammates back.

[*]Wow this is some broken ass forums, but on we go - mics don't matter much, pay attention would be much more important, be aware of your surroundings, the camera rotates freely for a reason people.
[*]Accurate
[*]Not really, some characters are cover-only and should always hang back, again awareness is more important
[*]Do be cheap on consumables, save them for the worst moments only, if your entire team is down amidst two Praetorians you need to have those missiles
[*]Do revive fallen teammate while enemies are on top of him/her, on Gold you have likely all of three seconds before they get stomped, enemies do not draw once moving to stomp, they must be killed or they will stomp, so yes, there's a hurry.
[*]True
[*]Also true

Here's my tip to improve your chances of not getting kicked:

Do NOT shoot a rocket into a possesed abomination 2 seconds before the end of extraction wave. It kills the team huddling in the extraction zone.

[*]Thanks for the detailed opinion I agree with you, I also agree it works with experienced players.  I guess the way I wrote my opinion was having less experienced players in mind being able to play platinum successfully.
[*]
[*]Reviving teammates can get you both knocked down, keep in mind that sometimes a teammate will be unable to stagger the stomping enemy, sometimes you will have more than 3 secs and other times even less than that,  mic's let you know if anyone on your team is close and can revive you if not, advise you not to gel because the wave may already be ending.    Of course if your downed teammate is right next to you immediately pick hin up.

  •  Communication is key, always use a MIC.  You'd be surprised how many players will share they're experience or help you out if you help yourself first by asking. 80% of PUG's dont have Mics (Even on Gold). I do, but usually am silent unless someone else is interesting.
  •  NEVER HOLD THE EXTRACTION AREA on wave 11.  Extraction area is a kill zone.
  •  Don't run off on your own, you put yourself and your team at risk.  Stick close to at least one teammate. I prefer, "run off on your own and you are on your own" mentality. If you can do it and survive, have at it.
  •  Don't be cheap with consumables, that's what they are for.  Then again don't use them up on the first waves.
  •  Don't revive a fallen teammate while enemies are on top of him/her.  Either draw the away and someone else picks him/her up or kill them and then revive. There's no hurry. When I run in for a revive, if I can only get them through a mass of enemies, they are getting revived in a mass of enemies. Those who die can't be choosy.
  •  Always use consumables on Objetive Waves if necessary, not helping with objectives is a Kickable offense.
  • Language. Don't worry if your english is "not to good", if you can say "Banshee Behind You", we're good.

Like to point out unless this was changed since last week any pre possessed abomination that is in the extraction zone will wipe the lot of you 9 out of 10 times because extraction provokes a death animation which in turns causes the explosion. Which you might get blamed for any way just because...

Unfortunately I believe you are right,  but it's about sharing with the few that do and they can share with some that won't and so on.

Agree on giving advice, that's a decision you'll make when having the opportunity to talk to them first.

nice points albeit a bit elitist.. how about educate the 'noob' as at one time everyone was the bronze player at one point. Typically if the player has MIC -on PS3 there is very good communication after or before a mission.

also add @ the Op' dont disconnect if you wipe before completion, perhaps some education and try again.. I've seen soo many simply leave after a bad wipe (Collectors simply suck and sometimes they get the best of a team). If that one good person would stay around and help the newbie perhaps they will also play if forward.

That's the point, but the newbie has to do his part.  Like I said, at the very least have a mic so you don't jump to conclusions and quit after the match expecting to be kicked otherwise.

You can't help someone that won't help himself.

Well that depends if people follow the look in the direction people are shooting at they tend not to need mics. For instance if I am shooting at you then the chances are there is something on the otherside of me to you and I am try to save you. Which is normal team shooter mentality from everything from Planetside 2 to TF2. But you have a valid point.

There is a trend now of people trying to kick anyone playing the AIU, when it gets to a point where folks are trying to dictate what someone else plays, it's time for me to stop pugging, as I won't kick another player for their class choice.

Death animation due to extraction will not prevent you from "surviving" the extraction wave. Idiots who rocket abomination with 2 seconds on the clock, however, will.
