There are actually very few powers that do multiple jobs as SF.
unreal
recon mine, proxy mine, most grenades, silly slash powers, smash (to name a few)
I didn`t know many of them prime enemies.
Beside compared to all available powers, how many did you mention? Are those few or many?
Its a jack-of-all trades power... which i mentioned... but its not great at much else. If you want to compare it as a primer, then you could easily just put Reave + Cluster Grenades together, which is much better than Snap Freeze + incinerate
If you are looking at debuffers then there are much better options
same for CC powers
To be fair, a jack-of-all-trades power may not be a master at something, but it does have great versatility which means it's going to be useful no matter the situation. It's kind of like Warp, which isn;t terribly amazing on its own, but it;s a good all-around power nonetheless.
yeah, good all-around, but not worhty of its "awesome" status as portrayed by many.
Considering that every single character has a utility, by themselves, with warp, I would put warp above snap freeze.
I mean... the valkyrie alone would put her sentinel partner to shame even if he had overload instead of energy drain or incinerate
Ice is always awesome. Why do you think I'm named Arctican?
In all seriousness, maybe it's a little overhyped at best, but I haven't really seen anybody sing their undying love for SF. In anycase, the hype for SF pales far in comparison to the hype of the Claymore fanatics.

Agreed. The claymore fanatics are much more serious. Ashen took care of them, though.
Hey man, i like Ice, too. Arcticuno was the best of the three mythical birds back-n-tha-day.
I noticed it being used as a talking point for how ridiculous the AIU was. But in retrospec, she was also way overhyped, and for the wrong reasons.

This was a super serious discussion on me being the iconoclast that demurred the snap freeze axiom.

I watched the digimon show and enjoyed it (I think season 1 or 2)... it was actually pretty good (as a kid)
You missed out if you weren'y a gameboy fan of pokemon.

since snap freeze sucks, then it must be the repair matrix that's OP and looks like it needs more tweaking then.
edit: added the fact that rng store is trolling me and not that i'm using my ops packs up as i'm making my runs.

Yer reply has nothing to do with my comment. Just random anger trigger talk. Soloing means alot apparently young one. I have found that soloing with a character you come to fully understand the dynamics of that character. I personally mastered some characters through soloing not team gameplay. I know cryo explosions are good and all but he is still excellent without it. You just don't use him enough...

Stikman, I agreed with you that the AIU wasn't as OP as the BSN said so I understand why you made this point. That being said, snap freeze is a great primer, detonator, and debuffer.
she took significant nerfs and still hoses gold/platinum.

I don't think an hour long gold solo puts you at the forefront of understanding the dynamics of a character. Or an hour and 20 minute solo with the best DPS character in the game...
your patronizing tone is the pith of your own opprobrium

the difference then has got to be the repair matrix. if a scrub silver player like me can hose gold multiple matches in a row with only using a couple of missiles to revive teammates and clear objectives and not use a single medi-gel or ops pack, then something is amiss. RM needs another nerf methinks. i think shield regeneration during cloak would be a good start.

Where is it exactly is it overhyped? I don't see it being praised like that much.
When the AIU came out, snap freeze saw a resurgence in people using Snap Freeze as a point that the AIU was ridiculously overpowerd, highlighting all that it does.
Things like "plus she has snap freeze, one of the most OP powers in the game!"
Whats funny is you got guys like Upinya Slayin saying "I spec out of snap freeze cuz it slows down my dps"
Upinya had it right.
snap freeze on a paladin = awesome cause wih Inc you alternate CEs and FEs
Snap feeze on a sexbot = waste of time
