Stuff like this is why I hate politics.

So much arguing going on regarding a topic only for it to go absolutely nowhere.

Well.. for politics, they actually have something they are looking to accomplish (ex. how to fix the spending budget, health reform, immigration policy, etc.)

There really isn't much to accomplish here other than being "right" about something.

In the end, the Paladin and Snap Freeze will be put to the test vs. the Fury, tonight.

True, but at the same time politics usually involve nothing but "yep yep yep" and "nope nope nope" in which each side has no regard for the opposing views.

Similarly to how this thread is going.

When I look at it,

Paladin shines more when he presents in rather underwhelming team who needs his support dearly.

Good team that does not need Paladin`s help will do well even if the 4th player is entirely missing.

Paladin provides so many things to the team with Snap Freeze, and the team benefits so much from snap freeze with minimum equipment/effort.

Good character might be good at soloing and killing, but some other good characters simply shine more as he supports him team and being a valuable member.

Don`t get me wrong though. Paladin is still great by himself too.
Snap freeze -> shoot -> incineraiton -> shoot -> energy drain -> shield bash.. mixed combo is really effective and fun against all enemies. He is agile and durable.

I also strongly believe no AIU should skip on Snap freeze. It just helps the team so much especially during certain objectives.

For the first few paragraphs could all be replaced with a juggernaught... or volus... both of which aren't overrated

By himself, he will easily get outclassed.

True, because you're going to lose horribly.

In fact your choice of a Fury to face off against the Paladin is reason number 3,647 why you either a) are trolling or B) have no clue about this game. I'm still sticking with option A.

I mean of all the kits you could have used, you chose a Fury. lol.

FYI, I didn't choose the fury.

Oh. I didn't see the particulars of how the match up came into being.

You still agreed to use a Fury, though. You are aware it's the guy who primes the explosion who gets most of the points, yes?

Now I'm curious why you think a paladin will outperform a fury. Without the paladin having a teammate to detonate the fury has easier time getting explosions.

The Fury gets most of her damage output by spamming a detonator...? Tech primes override BEs?

All the Paladin has to do is follow her around and spam Snap Freeze.

Unless they agree to play on opposite sides of the map or something it's a foregone conclusion.

That would make more sense if the fury had a cooldown like a warp/throw combo. But with anihilation field you can prime and detonate instantly.

A paladin cannot keep up with a proper fury.

Fury vs Paladin

it`s just meaningless though.

I wouldn`t say Paladin will be necessarily outperformed by Fury, but if it is against Reaper, Fury will have such an easy time while Paladin can handle all enemies equally.

Also note that fighting multiiple Phantom without Acoylte as Paladin is extremely tricky thing. You can do it right, but Phantoms are simply that challening opponents. Fury can use Dark Channel on Phantom and its fairly easy to BE on phantom because Phantom dodge close range throw less than incineration.

I'd happily do it vs. collectors or cerberus or reapers. I could even do geth, but i'd prefer not to, but i could

All the Paladin has to do is use Snap Freeze before the Fury uses Throw. That's it. Barring a gentlemans agreement the Fury will stuggle to get consistent BEs, at least 50% of her primes should be overwritten, probably more because Snap Freeze will prime whole groups at a time.

You mean speed wise? That might be Stikmans best hope, to just use all that speed to outrun _the1biggs_ or whatever his name is.

To tell you the truth I am not intrested in who wins, and Geth enemies are more vulnerable to SF priming and can be easily detonated by Energy Drain, which is big advantage for Paladin.
Maybe the most fair fight would be against cerberus / collector. Phantoms are deadly to all.. and paladin`s energy drain can play key role.

Anyway, if it`s two players game and both players don`t waste all medi-gels and get extracted with >130000 points, I`d say they are both equally great.

The timing needs to be pretty instant. It is pretty quick from the time anihilation field primes to getting the throw off. If the paladin is so focused on sneaking the snap freeze in the split second window he will probably be to distracted to be effective.
