I for one have no intention of fighting for either the mages or chantry. What would these assets be doing? Playing football at camp? Hmm that actually sounds like a fun idea.

In ME3, it was a way of dealing with all the past decisions your Shepard has made in the first two games. They couldn't have possibly accounted for every single thing and have the game react to them in unique ways.
There's no need in DA3. It plays in a different land, with different characters. If something from the first two games affects DA3, they should be able to spend the effort to have those things change the game more substantially than through War Assets.
And god, I don't want to know how many Multiplayer characters the Warden would end up being worth.

In Dragon Age the only way i could see something like this come into play is in a few games time after visiting more countries on the present continent an sorting disputes yada yada there emerges a threat from across the ocean that will take the combined might of every country to counter, which i wouldnt be opposed to but for far to many i guess it would be to similar to mass effect

I would rather Bioware develop a more imaginative way of dealing with player choice rather than distilling every single thing down to a single scalar parameter.

why does everyone assume dragon age is mass effect?
To be fair Dragon Age 2 took a lot of cues from Mass Effect 2. Hopefully that won't happen this time around though.

Having almost no information about the game, I suppose anything is possible, but . . . seems unlikely.chrstnmonks wrote...
I wondered if we would have war assets in da3 like we do in me3.

LolWut? ME2 is considered the best in the trilogy, while DA2 is considered by many as, well the ME3 of dA games: a good game by itself, but not standing up to the high standards that were set by the previous games. I think that DA2 (and DA:I) would've been better if they took more cues from ME. The fact is that both games (DA2&ME2) were developed at the same time by different teams, leaving very little opportunities to "copy" successful features since neither team knew what the fans would like (power evolutions) and hate (mining mini game). I can realy think of anything particularly similar between those games, especialy since they're from different genre (sci-fi vs high fantasy). Can you give some examples?

Because DA2 was much more influenced by ME than DA1.RaidenXS wrote...
