Dwarven Noble becoming king mod

Gameplay wise, I'm pretty sure that it would just be a dialogue adjustment and a cutscene that shows the noble becoming king with Bhelen attacking soon afterwards. Since the warden would have to continue with his duties with the blight, Harrowmont would become his regent and rule in the noble's place. Then, the dwarven noble gets their own epilogue slide if they survive the final battle.
Essentially, it seems like it would change very little about the outcome of the Orzammar questline. Yet, I'm still curious about making this possible or even if it's worth it.

That aside, I don't know what it'd take. But, if you end up tackling it yourself I can help you plan it out. All it really takes is the Paragon's Crown moment, but if you want to make it a true politically manipulating thing for the DN I can give you the headcanon I worked out that applies to my DN who took the throne in my fanfics.

1) DN goes to the Provings and fights in honor of his late father rather than either candidate. This makes the DN seem more humble and less petty about tradition that either candidate.
2) DN has to be a double-agent for Bhelen and work both sides against each other. This way, it makes the DN's revenge against Bhelen that much sweeter when Bhelen is backstabbed later.
3) DN takes personal credit for driving out Jarvia and the Carta. Perhaps by writing the symbol of house Aeducan over the symbol of the Grey Wardens on the wall of the hideout and put Jarvia's body under it.
4) When the DN returns from the Anvil of the Void, choose the dialogue that says, "Paragon Branka/Cariden made this crown for me to give to whoever I choose." Through a technical loophole found in the canon dialogue, the DN can then choose him/herself as King/Queen of Orzammar.
5) Fight with Bhelen breaks out rather the DN calls for Bhelen's loyalty or execution and Harrowmont is appointed as regent while the DN continues his duties as a Grey Warden.
6) If DN lives then they'll still become a Paragon and the epilogue slides while say that the DN acted as a controversial, but loved and respected king.

That's more or less my idea! Get out of my mind!
Though there are a few things I'd do differently. For the Provings I was going to have it simply be more "Fight independently and when you win say "The Ancestors have chosen me as their victor, Orzammar's rightful heir to the throne!", which would cause a ripple effect of doubt amongst the populace. They'd wonder if maybe you are meant to take the throne, if the Ancestors deemed you the one that wins.
The game does allow you to fight independently instead of fighting under one of the banners of the people contending for the throne, so it'd work. Moreover, Dwarven lore says the Ancestors speak through the Provings regarding matters, which is why Harrowmont and Bhelen are sending their fighters. If someone under their banners wins, then it says Harrowmont or Bhelen should take the throne.
If the DN fights independently and wins, then it says that the Ancestors don't like either candidate but rather you.
Then for Jarvia, it'd require talking to Harrowmont and convincing him to get his supporters to keep supporting him publicly but they'd quickly support you in your bid for the throne when you come back for the Deep Roads. Then when you take the evidence proving your innocence -- if you actually didn't kill Trian -- then someone would bring that to the Shaper and exonerate the DN's name.
Still take credit for the slaughter of the Carta, but you're also working with Harrowmont to establish a power base and have half of the Assembly on your side.
Though I'd rather not make Harrowmont Regent. He's a ******-poor administrator and general.

If you ever decide to create this mod, please please put it up on Nexus. I would love to have my Dwarf take the throne instead. Harrowmont is the terrible choice for king because he's too soft, and Behlen, while efficient as a ruler, was an ass that got my Dwarf stricken from the records. I hate both options, even when I wasn't playing a Dwarf. I think this would be an awesome option to have. I imagine there are a lot of other players who would like to have this option as well, based on the Google/Yahoo searches asking if it was a canon option.

This would be pretty cool, my only grief with it is that the King of Orzammar is referred to in both DA2 and DAI meaning you'll still see either Bhelen or Harrowmont and at the same time the Warden will be referenced as a separate person. Feels too silly for me. ![]()
