Depends on the VAs but if I like both I'll start playing a male on the first run.
Will you play with a male or female protagonist in Dragon Age 3? Vote now

I will play both. Which I will play first depends on two things, 1) the voice actors, 2) the character creator. I care about how my character sounds and looks, regardless of gender, i want the best sounding and best looking character I can make.

Most likely both, unless I can't stand one VA or the other, or there's something egregiously sexist that makes it too unpleasant for me to play as the female protagonist. (Which the DA team has managed to avoid so far, thankfully, so I'm not anticipating it being a problem.)

I usually play female in the first run and male afterwards at least once, but it can depend on the game. The male protagonist could look and sound so spectacular I would want to try him first.))

Usually a female protagonist on the first run and on repeat goes i stick with a female protagonist regardless. With male Hawke i struggled to get into the VA and after 3 attempt gave up on him.

I can only play one? Thats like playing only half the content on a game I bought.

Male. I'm male and therefore my main char is always a straight male char. Females are more for the looks.

Is it too much to ask for both?

What was the last BioWare game where you couldn't choose the gender of the protagonist. Go on, I'll waitMilan92 wrote...

The OP is asking what people will choose between the two at the start of the game.

Both. That way I get maximum replay value.

I usually end up playing female on the first proper run. But I'll have to see how I feel about the voice actors before i make a final choice.

Female as usual. I can't play as a male character in a Bioware game anymore. I tried, but I always stopped after an hour at most.

My first runs on Origins and 2 were both male, so probably male the first time. But I'll be playing both.

Assuming the gameplay would be awesome, I'll play both for each class.

Well, my first DA:O playthrough -- my "canon" one -- was male. Granted, he was a mage called Rince, so my love of referencing things pretty much solidified his gender. But, my DAII playthrough was as a female, since I wanted to go far off the cover Hawke.
So, for III... it could be either, really. I think it'll depend on the romance options and the voice-people.

If the OP means the first playthrough, I will play female. I usually play my own gender but I created a couple of DA2 male alts later and one of them completed the game.

All the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park are female.
Wait, that's not right... All the heroes in Thedas are female.
Female is my canon play. As I will most likely do more than one play, I'm sure I'll play male at some point. If for no other reason, the chance to check out the male character creation options and the voice acting
. For some reason, the pattern I got into for DA2 was male rogue romances Anders, female mage romances Fenris. I've had female rogues too, as well as other romance combos, but those two are my favorite. Sadly, I couldn't get past Act 1 with the male mage.

Probably female initially, but if the buzz says a male romance is excellent, then I'll play the guy.

I can't make a male character to save my own life they always end up looking like they got hit in the face with a baseball bat so female for me.
