Most likely male unless the male voice is atrocious.

Despite being female myself, I can never roleplaying women as well as men. I can't give them personality I still play women, and my canonical Hawke was fem hawke but I prefer roleplaying guys. And also have a great idea for a D'Artagnan character

I don't quite know yet - usually I play as female first, but my recent DA characters were male and I really enjoyed the change.
And playing a Prosper-style orlesian inquisitor with an epic beard... could be interesting. ^^
But I guess it'll be a female for first playthrough again an the male inwusitor comes second.

If I get the game I will be trying both out to see which voice actor I like better, and that will be my canon character...Pretty much all that matters at this point

My inner misogynist does not allow me to play as female in most games. It just feels wrong.

I'm a woman but I prefer to play as the man. My only reason for playing a female in origins was to romance Alistair.

The way I've chosen in the past was by crafting the character as close to the CGI protagonist as possible so if that's a male, I'll play a male, if it's a female, than female. Simple as that

Depends, in DA:O I chose a female because I wanted to play a female, and in DA2 I chose a male because I liked the VA more. I'll probably chose depending on that again.

I started with a male in both DAO and DA2, so I think I'll change things up and start with a female.

Depends on the VA and also how good I can make 'em look. I usually go female though.

Always play my own gender (female). And always play a mage (or variant thereof) the first time through any fantasy RPG that gives me the option.

I'm going to find out how they sound, and then choose the gender whose voice I like the most.

Both eventually; male first.
My first character in Bioware games tend to be close to be approximations of how I'd act in the given setting. I might sometimes make some changes to the character if their backstory warrants it. Generally though I'm the first character, and anything different will come on replays.

I typically play a male first. ME2 and ME3 are exceptions since I liked one of my ME1 FemSheps best.

Female for my first play through, will no doubt play as a male at some point though.

Male, but I will definately give female a try eventually

In many RPGs, my first character has been a female, for what reason I don't know. Could be it's as shallow as me being attracted to tall, strong women in heavy full body plate armor hacking a bloody swathe through bandits or some king's bodyguard. In RPGs set in the Forgotten Realms however, my first character was always a male, so it's a relatively new change.

Male, i'm a female already so I tend to role-play males.

Certainly female, probably as a rogue but will wait to see how the combat looks first

I always play females first.
Then I usually try a male character. In DA:O, it turned out to be a lot more fun playing a guy, which surprised me, but in DA2, I never completed a single playthrough.
*shrug* So overall I'd still say female.
