Will play both but for my canon the sex depends on the LI.
In Origins I liked Morrigan so I had to play as a male. In 2 they were all bi so it didn't matter, but I canonized a female since the Warden was male.
Will you play with a male or female protagonist in Dragon Age 3? Vote now

Hmmm, it depends on the VAs. I play MaleShep in ME, but LadyHawke in DA2. My wardens are a mix since they don't have voices.

I played both w/ DA:O but only played female Hawke. I tried male Hawke, but didn't care enough for the game to delve into a PT for him. Shame. I liked the voice.
I'll play female first and if I like it will play the male eventually. Will import my female Warden Mage/ Lady Hawke Mage first.

How about both

It depends. Unfortunately, with voiced protagonists, I go with whichever has the better voice actor, as I'm going to have to put up with it either way.
Ideally, female.

I play both but male first ^^ I am female but I like playing a guy character. I will 99% likely romance a guy with him. Then I'll play a female character and romance a female LI.

I always play a female rogue first. But, in general i pretty much always choose female if I have the option. I really should give a male playthrough a chance.

Both. Sometimes I don't even finish my first run when I start the other playthrough, so I do both simultaneously. XD.

I'll start off with a female first, because I like go try to recreate myself, and make the decisions I would if it was me in that situation just to see how badly I'd screw up if it were RL lol. After that I'll try the game as a male, then do a bunch of playthroughs with both, testing out all the options and personality traits etc until I settle on which one I like best.

I am very surprised of the results! I thought these gentlemen have an absolute majority!

Playing DAO as a guy was rewarding, because Morrigan's plotline was very well done and changed the impact of the story.
As such, I didn't really feel the need to play as a guy in DAII--having a sordid affair with a pirate as a noblewoman was fine in my books. I did play it once that way, because I could, but I didn't have motivation to, really.

Since I always roleplay with myself as the protagonist in mind, I play female characters. This, however, is only limited to games with romance in them. I enjoy my little pretend-romance with myself as the main char and find it more satisfying playing a female. If there's no romance involved like in most action oriented RPG (like Diablo or what have we) I couldn't care less

Probably true of the wider playerbase, not true on BSN.
cf: 18% FemShep playthroughs etc.

All my characters are the same sex as me, I can't play the opposite sex.

On my first runthrough of RPGs I've usually been playing self-insert characters - or rather, characters close to my personality and morality - which would mean male for me. However, I've found that playthroughs where I create characters less similar to myself (including female PCs) are often more enjoyable, so I don't know which gender I'll take first.
