Why do you care?

People are obviously enjoying themselves if they put that much time into it. That's all that matters.

Correct me if I'm wrong but do the hours count from before the N7HQ? Or did everyone have 0 hours when they brought it in? Because as of such the game has been around for a year, 1000 hours is not a lot in a year, heck I probably spend more then that playing games in the year as research for my Uni work, it is the players choice on whether those 1000 hours were well spent or not..
Doesn't make a difference to me other then the fact that they have been playing it longer then me.

I think it counted the time played before N7HQ was live. However, the time shown is only time spent directly in MP game, any time spent In SP, loading and in lobbies is not counted into the total, so it's quite a bit more actually.

I use to play this MP everyday but then I got  tired because of the store, playing hard then all you can get from the store is a bunch of level 4 consumables.

The store will be the death of this game.

Working a designed. Random unlock system ensures players will continue to play until the get what they want. Some people, myself included, are completionists.... However I would happily end my quest once I unlock each character

Your very impatient and very sure about your preferences, but that is your opinion not ours.

We love this game and enjoy it for what it is, even if some things could be better we don't just give up on this game if we have it in a special place in our hearts! <3

I didn't have to have my own account, I could have just stuck with the shared one, but when I had the opportunity to start on my own, I took that opportunity. ;D

I play the hell out of this game. 1272 hours, 4722 games played. 5880 N7 score and 28,365 Challenge points.

Yeah, the store is a troll. It gets old. I have everything and almost all of it is maxed out. It will be soon, in fact. I'm sitting on almost 8 million credits. I prefer to get trolled by the store about a half million to a million credits at a time - never more than that.

I still play ME1. I started a run yesterday with a new adept. With the graphics cranked up and everything max its STILL an amazing game - and nothing even comes close to the story.

Bad for business..???!! did I read that right..? Oh well, I don't have time for this... time to play my 2000th game!!.. How does it even matter..?? It shows that bioware has done good business and made a good MP that people are still playing 1 year later..

The stupidity of this thread is waste of my time. I'm better off playing Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer. :o

Btw. 860 hours in this game & proud on every minute.

How long have you had the game, OP? I ask because 130 hours to me sounds like you haven't had it all that long (or are just very efficient in rounds in which case well done you).

I can't speak for others (and most have covered the "meh who cares as long as my real life junk is covered") but in my case the nature of my job lends itself very well to dropping a huge chunk of time into this game. I work graveyard shift at a convenience store. No one I know is awake on my days off.

But honestly I've been gaming since I was wee back in the 80s (had an Atari 2600 and a Commodore 64 that plugged into my TV, followed by my beloved Colecovision). I've always sort of gamed this way; obsessive streaks of time on one game until it died or I moved on (or in the case of Civ 2 and Starcraft 1, until I played them so much my disks fell apart 10 years after the fact). I get real life taken care of.

This year, my stupid body betraying me has also added to my game time. One month after the game's release last year, I hurt my back at work and was given bed rest. That's when I finished SP and jumped into MP. God how I sucked. Bronze was so hard.

Then over the summer I got appendicitis (who get's that at 36? I'm personally offended at my body for not rotting my appendix in my early 20s like normal people) and was down from work for three months (unusually long recovery time courtesy of bruising from meds I had been taking to help my back). Got hauled out of my store in an ambulance at 5am. That would be my bronze/silver to silver/gold migration.

And now I've just hurt my back again (much worse) at the same stupid job (seriously, 711 is ridiculous and for your own health do not eat off of their roller grill I know how they clean that junk and it's kind of against health code everywhere). Suddenly I'm playing more gold and an occasional platinum.

So yeah I've had a fair amount of time to sink into this game. On days that I work I only play for an hour or two and pretty much strictly silver for the roflstomp relaxing nature of it. On my days off I'll play for hours at a stretch just like my 12 hour Civ 1 for DOS streaks when I was in high school. Right now all I have are days off.

I guess I should thank my body betraying me for allowing me to improv my MP shooter skills. Maybe I'll jack my BF's copy of Battlefield and see if I can get the hang of PvP while I"m at it.

Wow, you're right OP. I have wasted my life on this game, and i deserve to die a horrible death for being obsessed with something so trivial.

I wonder how much time the average mouth-breather spends watching "the Kardashians" or TMZ?!?

FFS!

I can happily say I have no idea what either of those things are.

I'm far too busy Reaper hunting to now what's going on with the rest of the world. I didn't know what yolo meant until a few weeks ago (my little sister moved in with me, she said it and I was all WTF and she told me) and I still have no idea what a swag is.

Time would've been spread across multiple games if there were other titles that really grabbed my interest.

Closest to grabbing me away was Borderlands 2 with 130 hours I think.

I have 10's of thousands of hours of fps gaming under my belt, maybe more - and about a thousand hours in this game alone.

What am I doing with my life...

Yolo drives me nuts because I went to high school in Yolo County in California.  SO everytime I hear it I think of something else entirely.  And then I rmemeber it's even MORE stupid than what I'm remembering (I hope whoever said HS was the best 4 years of their life is taking their meds regularly) and I get even more annoyed.  Also, YOLO.

988 hours played!

I'd just have spent the time on other games, or meaningless DIY projects if I wasn't playing ME3.
Seeing a big number on a single game is a bit off putting though. Glad Teh Mrs hasn't seen it...

630 hours here. Play several hours in the evening that would otherwise be sat staring at the TV watching inane rubbish. At least this way I get to talk and have a laugh with like-minded people (oh and my job is very socially restricted so not much interaction with real people there either, just like now ) while our kids sleep and MrKebab does the stuff he wants to do .
The only time its potentially harmful is when I've had one too many rums and I am a liability to my team mates hearing :o.

Oh, and nearly forgot: JIM!
