Me3 came out one year ago, so 130h = 20min each day (time spent watching the news)
500h = 1h each day (one episode of a TV show)
1000h = 2h each day (one film)
1500h = 3h = average TV consumption

You're unbelievable ignorant if you think 130 hours is a lot of time sunk into a game.

That might be one play through of Skyrim, might.

 i have over 1000 hours in oblivion and about 650 in skyrim, dont get me started on fallout 3...

i love elder scrolls...

Exactly. People who do those things seem to do just fine in the world, those are just considered "normal." So why can't people who invest the same amount of time in ME be thought of the same?

Are we bothering you by having excessive amounts of fun with one game?

No its not bothering me.  As long as people aren't hurting others I'm fine and that is definitely not the case here.  I just find it alarming.

Start using your common sense, OP. That time would've gone to doing more pointless tasks like watching tv or any number of activities considered far worse but somehow more socially acceptable - some of them illicit.

And yet gaming is "alarming"?

Not really sure what the op was asking in the 1st place.

One thing you will find in this life, whether it is hours spent on something or money spent on something there really is no right answer. For every person that spends too much time on worthless video games will be a person that will spend too much time fixing his hot rod, or too much time crocheting quilts, or too much time creating art, or too much time reading or tv or what have you.

If you don't spend 500 hours+ on any rpg ever then you're doing something wrong.
I spent 970 hours on dark souls.
That's not even much compared to the thousands of hours asians play.

I got the game when it was released, and only have about 200+ hours played in multiplayer. I took a long break after earth dlc, and continued in december, and i don't usually play more than 3 hours per day.

This whole thread reminds me of a poker game i was at a few months ago. It was a very religious group ... during one point of the conversation, the woman sitting next to me turns to me with a shocked look on her face and says "You don't believe in evolution, do you?!?!"

Suffice to say the conversation got interesting and highly pointless from that moment forward (like this thread) LOL LOL LOL

Top 3 games that I put a lot of time playing:
1. Age of Empires II+ Expansion
2. StarCraft
3. Mass Effect series (or maybe pokemon..from my youth)

These games are probably the only ones that I spent more than 100hrs+.

  I'm not quite old enough to have had the expierience of playing video games back in the 80's but it must have been incredible to watch them and technology in general evolve into what it is now.

Oh man it so has been.  I think of games I played even as recently as 10 years ago and their cutscenes don't look half as good as the gameplay stuff does now (and I'm usually a PC player, though I play this game on xbox, so it's even prettier).  It suddenly dawned on me the other day that Mass Effect and Dragon Age (I'm an RPG junky) both looked the same in cutscene and gameplay.  10 years ago that was unheard of.  I remember playing final fantasy X and being shocked at how pretty the cutscenes were but the gameplay footage was not nearly as shiny.  Now it's seemless.  It's kind of amazing.  I still have older games I like to replay (Dungeon Keeper 2 just got reinstalled on my PC) and while they're still fun, half the charm is comparing them to their more modern counterparts.

I just wish the industry at large would get over the spiders already.  I get it; very easy to render in 3D so there's always spiders or some kind of bug.  But now that most games are third or first person instead of little guys on a board (Bladur's Gate, Fallout 1 & 2, etc.) the spiders can be a bit... harrowing.  I played Dragon Age (both games) on both xbox and PC and I'll never play either on console ever again (nor will I ever finish DA2 most likely).  At least on the PC version of DAO I was able to zoom out to the little guys on a board perspective in the spider dungeons.  My monitor is large.  I don't need the spider falling between my character and the camera to be as large as my monitor.  Not even a little bit.

In spite of rude responses, very interesting thread.  Thanks for posting OP.  :D

At ~650 hrs my playtime roughly equates to 1.5 hrs per day over the life of ME3.

That's really nothing, 3-4 games a day, if you think that's crazy, earthshattering, extraordinary etc. you arent a gamer, more of a casual which is fine.

You've never propoerly addressed questions posed to you, such as why you find this fascinating or unusual.

I have an 8-5 job, spend time w/ wife and daughter, go out occassionaly w/ friends, exercise, cook, clean, take showers.

Shockingly all while being able to play ME3 and *gasp* even other videogames.

You suggest your not a troll so there it is.

I felt like it served no purpose to answer the "Why do you care?" or "Why does it matter to you?" questions.  I find it unusual because it seems like a large majority of players that play this game, play it excessively in my opinion.  That is all.  Many may or may not agree with me but that was my point of view and one of the reason why I created this thread.  I guess you could say it reminded me of the people that spend hours a day every day playing
Runescape.  I was just curious of what others though about it.
