Why do Juggs insist on meleeing everything?

Even when they are in full health they walk around grabbing everything. Just place your freaking shield and shoot dammit. Meeleing is for survivability only not for DPS.

And sure, go ahead and grab those Phantoms. But don't toy with those troopers.

Nigh immortality man, just because theyre at full shields and health doesnt mean they should stop force choking things.

I find myself asking that very same question. You're not helping anyone by force choking the one Phantom on the field. You're helping putting that shield between us small fries and that Atlas. When you get a good Juggernaut, the match is so easy, though.

Just shoot and kill stuff faster rather than slugging all over the map for melee grabs.

Have to disagree regarding Phantoms. Considering the pain they can be, I always force choke Phantoms just to keep pressure off my teammates.

Otherwise, yeah, I ignore the mooks and tank the big guns for my team.

Meh, I do it alot in front of my teammates to bosses, seems to attract aggro much easier, making for easier kills for the team.

when you heavy melee enemies with the Juggy, they ragdoll, giving you a 100% deadly shot. try it with a Javelin :)

Sure. But they waste a lot of time. Just mow mooks down with gun fire and choke Phantoms. But they grab every husk.

You haven't played with someone like me. I will do a quick melee to knock them down then use my weapon.
Melee really should be used for survivability. I don't see the fun in using it on everything.

PS: I do get a big brother syndrome when using him. I will go out of my way to distract sync- kill enemies.

I normally shoot at the enemies with the harrier from distance at first then when they close in I switch to reegar and only melee when my shield start to get low or a phantom is nearby then I would grab her and take away her barrier and then kill her off with reegar.

Juggs should HM when:

1) Phantoms then kill with gun
2) Get the bosses' attention onto you then kill with gun
3) Husks since they die easy enough and you want the speed bonus
4) When Juggs are dying
5) If your HM remove's shields faster than you gun can (highly possible give the right setup)
6) If you truly ran out of ammo and thermal clips (extremely rare)

That's all the situation I can think of really.

Should be using reegar if they are that close. Play like smart scrubs.

I grab phantom until her barrier almost runs out and then just shoot claymore to end her pain.
That way is much quicker. It's a waste of time to keep holding a single unit with heavy melee.

I like light melee better because of its AOE stagger.

this. one should understand that a jugg can not run away from the enemy. he is usually overrun with enemies, he is forced to fight in close combat, and even with that huge shield, he can go down easily. and heavy melee strips shields/barriers very quickly, it has a modifier against that defenses.

If I'm in a group with a krogan or batarian, I'll do this just to hold enemies in place so they can heavy melee it. Reminds me of combos from Chrono Trigger.

But, yeah some jugg players are one dimensional with them.

Yes, because the RNG has reliably bestowed upon all players the perfect gun for every single situation...

For the record, NOT disagreeing. Just saying, the lumbering melee monster is the easiest way for some people to get into gold, which gets them the credits needed to get the goods.

While I could careless one way or the other If I had someone jump on their mic and told me to stop meleeing everything i'd melee even more just because it is not their place to tell me how to play.

Just looking at your post through the eyes of a PUG.

Aye. I took Jug for a spin after seeing almost every PUG do this. He's much more effective if you actually bother to shoot. I melee almost exclusively for Phantoms.

I try to mainly play him offensively, rather than defensively. What's the point of being able to take so many hits if you're barely dealing any damage? His fitness alone makes him tanky enough, DR for Siehe Pulse is unnecessary and works much better as an offensive power.

I think the reason why people melee so much is "because they can". Sure, it makes him pretty much invincible, but as I said, what's the point of you're not killing anything? If someone needs to melee constantly to stay alive, then sorry, but they're playing the Jug all wrong.

even reegar one is great.

flamer trooper is even easier. Just hit y and spec out of hunter mode.

I heavy melee a lot because it keeps me from getting stunned by banshee, brute, atlas, etc, melee attacks, and keeps my shields from going down from said attacks. Sure, you may disagree with a Juggie HM'ing every.single.mook, but it's fun when a trooper or a husk is the last one alive and you just drain them into nothing. :)
