Even when they are in full health they walk around grabbing everything. Just place your freaking shield and shoot dammit. Meeleing is for survivability only not for DPS.

And sure, go ahead and grab those Phantoms. But don't toy with those troopers.

1. Saves ammo, which is a big deal when it takes a long time to travel from crate to crate.
2. Reduces or negates damage taken by entirely immobilising your target.
3. Reinforces shields if you are taking damage.

Frankly, there's no reason not to.

Seriously.

What.

I skip Geth Turret now. Weapon damage is required.

On this I agree. The turret has the survivability of a fitnessless Volus carrying the Spitfire.

Why skip the turret? For the Hex shield? My turret is set fully to repair shields. This helps when overwhelmed and melee alone cannot relpenish my shields.
I can also shoot it in the direction of my teammates when they are under heavy fire.

I skip it because I want to have only 1 power on CD - the shield. The shield can protect me and my healthgate and my teammates. Geth Turret doesn't help the Jugg that much, it doesn't restore a whole lot. And it won't protect the gates. And you kill the CD that I rather use for the Hex Shield or Siege pulses.

I tried the shield but found the turret more to my liking. That little boost has saved me so many times now.
The Hex shield doesn't do me alot of good against Brutes and Banshees.
You would hate me for never firing my Siege pulse. I am still aggressive with my weapon, I just rarely use it. I consider it as part of my shields.

Possibly using the character to get to the melee acheivment?

Maybe they just think its "fun", i know, crazy idea!

Sure. It's fun for a while. But c'mon people. We need to clear stuff too ;)

And that is where the otehr 3 mates come into play. Juggy is most effective as as angry decoy/ Juggy using melee takes a while to widdle down most characters, allowing other AI to "queue up". The other 3 characters should be taking out all the other AI from a flank, hopefully.

The phrase "juggernaut overwhelmed" makes  very little sense to me.

I got kicked from a gold match by a N7 of 19 for 'kill stealing' the things he was force choking. Started screaming at me and insulting me too. I can't help it if Dark Channel and the Executioner Pistol was killing things faster than he was

I know. I was Jav'stepping every Phantom a teammate Jugg picked up. Though I'll help him out by killing things faster. He didn't need shields anyway. He was rarely under heavy fire that he coudn't take.

But then he started Revenanting me every time I "killstealed" So I left him alone. He died surrounded by Dragoons and Phantoms.

What we call teamwork, they call kill stealing; and shows their lack of knowledge in tactics.

when you heavy melee enemies with the Juggy, they ragdoll, giving you a 100% deadly shot. try it with a Javelin :)

Sure. But they waste a lot of time. Just mow mooks down with gun fire and choke Phantoms. But they grab every husk.

I love the Force Choke both for the LOLz and for the easy set up for detonations.  Shield and barriers go away in a jiff and we biotics can boom!

Then you must not play gold or platinum with pugs.

I find myself asking that very same question. You're not helping anyone by force choking the one Phantom on the field. You're helping putting that shield between us small fries and that Atlas. When you get a good Juggernaut, the match is so easy, though.

Wow, this could not be more true.  I got to play with a good Juggernaut yesterday, and I've never had a Gold match that was so easy.  In fact, one of the players got disconnected around Wave 5, and I never even noticed until Wave 9 that nobody ever joined to replace him.  A three-man Gold match that was easier than some of the worst Silver matches I've played.

Juggs become primary targets easily, also it is harder to take cover with them, so even if you got full shields and HP, heavy melee still a good way to go.

Just shoot and kill stuff faster rather than slugging all over the map for melee grabs.

Why? They move slow and are easy targets. Shields go down and you need to replenish. Likewise, it sets up easy kills for others and keeps enemies like Banshees busy.

Funny this topic is a two sided argument for me . I have played in matches where it was a perfect synergy the Jug would pick things up and I would help put them down . The there were Jugs trying to be Rambo . I would agree if things are not going well the Jug should fire more but I have seen that a Jug can be a much better support character drawing fire so you kill things around him . If the synergy is there it is one of the better playing experiences I have had if it isn't the poor Jug doesn't stand a chance . To shoot or lift that is the question my answer go ahead and lift I will shoot keep baddies off you and put a round in that phantom your holding to make it die quicker .

Pugs, not consistantly. I gave up on that venture when I was dropped into a Collector/Jade game and the other 3 wouldn't leave the bridge.

I suppose if things go wrong, then the Juggernaut is perfectly capable of being overwhelmed. Fortunately, my friends aren't idiots.

I agree with you, but I will say I was just in a PUG gold and had 2! Juggs not even melee one time, I was shocked! Yes they went down more than normal but they did not spam force choke the whole match.

So, they did not use melee and went down frequently...correlation?

My sheer mass as a jugg causes all the bosses to fall into my gravity well, and when you have two or more bosses gnawing on you, if you stop HMing for even a single shot or pulse, you're toast. ):

One thing heavy melee is great for is actually surveying the area. When things are hectic and I'm doing heavy melee, I'll spin my view around 360 and call out enemy units that are flanking my teammates or that I think *may* flank them (such as units in the Glacier landing zone while the squad is upstairs facing the basement).

Too bad Juggles can't spin around while heavy melee'ing like players can while doing devices. :D

Should be using reegar if they are that close. Play like smart scrubs.

QFT

The melee is only for dropping enemies fast enemies on the ground for easy kills (Phantoms, Nemesis) and for restoring shields when they drop below half.

Just stand in place, drop your shield and shoot stuff. No need to personally choke every husk on the map. If they come to you - then melee.

Awww. Sweet Juggernaut father. Hey look Pyro Trooper, I caught a fish for you. Mind frying it?  The shields are way juicier then. :P
