Elitist thread. So basically "I'm better then pugs I don't have to communicate with them" attitude. Then bsners make threads of how pugs suck, how about trying to adopt and teach a pug with a mic?
P.s. post is aimed at anyone with the "I only talk to friends mentality" try attempt to communicate with your teammates who are pugs for once
I haven't seen anyone except you say they are better than PuGs.
Some people are shy, there's no need to be judgmental about it. <_<
And many of the people in this thread spend a lot of time pointing out that we're all PuGs, not criticizing them.
quote me saying that. Don't put words in my mouth

One of the people on my friend's list acts like a crazy preacher when the game starts to go south.
I think he tries to inspire people, but he gets kick votes after the match.
That would irritate the hell outta me, I'd leave the lobby quickly afterwards myself. If it's not fun I'm gone.
It's usually funny, but I've given the third kick to the guy a few times.

Which I actually do attempt to do the other 50% of the time I have my mic on. Like mentioned earlier, sometimes I don't feel like talking so I don't take it out of the charger.
But some of my more memorable moments have been when I do, even though I may be the only one in the room with a mic. I try to give helpful advice, and try to shadow the lowest N7, and that generally seems to be well-received. I then try to stay with that room and continue as long as I can, although sometimes I am forced to part if I get stuck on the "waiting for other players" limbo screen post-match.

Sometimes I talk to PUGs, usually to thank people when they save my ass and call out enemy positions. They don't talk back often, and when they do it's in Russian half the time. I haven't been insulted or told to get back in the kitchen yet, so I guess I'm lucky. Made a few friends, too, which is awesome.
I've found that PUGs are more likely to come out of their shell if you bring a friend along. It's easier to jump in when there's already two people chatting and having fun, I think.
I find it more fun talking to people. Then again, I"m a social person

If someone else starts talking, I'll talk. Otherwise I leave it muted because I don't feel the need to talk if no one else is. Either the group sucks and I spend my time yelling at the screen in which case talking won't matter, or it's a great group that operates fine without a peep.
I have a tendancy to provide myself a running commentary when I screw up, which I assume no one else wants to hear.

I admire your willingness to do that Dragon something I would never do myself. I learned from experience, playing the game from the bottom up and reading the forums for tips. Gotta admit though playing with obviously new players in Bronze/Silver games lately is alot of fun, like helping them.

I bet if I bought a PS 3 mic, it would work better than the one I have now for the Xbox. Because it couldn't be worse.
