I've never used my mic before but I've been thinking about using it. What can I do to feel more comfortable using my mic?

If the others in the lobby sound normal just drop a quick hello and take it from there. Found it easier myself to jump into a conversation with two random pals instead of 3, felt less awkward.

Ummmmm arent u supposed to be enjoying ur vacation instead of stalking my posts oh the "sexiest voice on the citadel"?

You're using quotation marks too much. Man up and take responsibility for what you're saying.
I'm not on the enjoyable part of my vacation yet. You'll be rid of my stalking in 2 days.

I NEVER mic up... because shy...

Edit: Now that I thought about it... why the hell did I buy a mic..? It is purposeless, to me!

Because you want to use it. Try dropping a thank you from time to time, calling out rockets and turret or reminding of extraction time. Sometimes people will start using their mic too and nice conversations and friendships may occur.

In PuGs you hear one of 2 things.

''25 seconds.''

Or.

''15 seconds''

If there's juggys in the game.

''30 seconds juggys start going to the LZ.''

Otherwise I'm silent, or my mics busted.

I don't see much of a reason to use it with randoms so I just leave it off.

I'd use my mic if I thought I needed to. This game is very simple, there are lots of sound queues to alert you to enemies, so call outs are rarely (if at all) required. I am puzzled by the people who have their mic set to always on and playing with speakers, it's really annoying to hear everything in the game twice and have to hear whatever that person feels like saying. Oh and people who call out the timer, please stop, the game does that already.

I hate my voice, ME3 makes me sound like a little boy. Which leads to insults and other stupid stuff. And then they figure out I'm a girl and that sometimes leads to other stupid stuff.. so no, I don't really use my mic with pugs.
Btw, you have the coolest accent Crimson..

Girl, you have "damn it I am a girl" written on your PSN card (or whatever that is).

I don't talk unless I've been dropped into lobbies hosted by people who obviously know each other. Communication with PuGs is next to useless.

Also I don't speak perfect English, and tend to forget the name of enemies in the heat of battle.

Only when I have to get on the mic to try to get people into the hack circle, or to get them to kite enemies away from the device.

Other than that, I only use it with friends.

Yes, I do.  Put there after "shut up kid" or some such comment. :D

Randoms don't need to hear me have a swearing fit when Geth Rocket troopers triple shoot me so i usually keep it off.  I use a PX5 headset which has a detachable mic allowing me to remove the mic while still appearing as i am using the mic on my name. (Unless i turn the BT off which completely cuts out my chat appearence and allows me to still hear people and the game)

I usually turn it on when i am playing with people i know, when players somehow think having a mic gives them god-like powers and thus everyone must have one aswell or to insult rocket glitchers. (Kidding on the last one)

I talk very seldom in PC PUGs. Usually when I do, there's no response, or I am subject to some manner of jibberish based idiocy.

Wouldn't mind some conversation or banter which wasn't essentially random noises which form the basic language of the troll people.

I do not have high hopes.

Now that i have a mic i find it useful while pugging, giving strat adivce etc and the response has been good so far, unlike i thought, they usually thank me for the help and the game tips. Only use it if i have to or when the players know each other and are talking. Some pugs i run into also know me :D "thats xain he's a very good player."

English isn't my language though so not very good at speaking it, tend to get stuck trying to express myself lol.

Only if other people are talking to me. And even then only if it's necessary to say something. I'm not the most talkative of people and for most PUGs it's enough that they know I can hear them and understand their instructions.

And sometimes it leads to fun stories! Like the time we had a hack circle objective in White Hazard outside in the snow. I was running my Vorcha Sentinel and one guy quipped that it'd be nice if we had a campfire. I switched on my Flamer and started burning everybody else. That got some good laughs. XD

Genreally the people you run into are respectful, some people are just rude so laugh at them after you outscore them (being a very good player that you are) "oh look a girl's better than you at the game."

Eh, if I am in a full PUG, not unless someone else starts talking first (I love having an in-line mute on my headset). If I am w/ one or two friends, we will usually be in a party talking. If we get a random who starts talking, one person usually drops to game chat to make sure they are not blasting music or something, then we will invite them to the party.

Oh, I know I can easily outscore the average pug. But I don't stick around to help earn credits after comments like that though. If it's not fun, I'm out.

Usually I only use my mic when there's at least one friend with me in the group.

Otherwise, I only use it when in a good mood, and I feel like being helpful to people.
