Usually, I don't feel comfortable speaking to foreigners. Though, it is nice to have at least someone in the team cheering things up with teamwork touch. On the other hand, when I have fellow Motherlanders with mics on, it brings SO MUCH foul language into action that it feels degrading to participate. Nevertheless, there are moments worth commenting, like near miss saves when Banshee gets a rocket up her posterior with her hand halfway your stomach in last seconds of evac.

I
don't keep my mic on since I might start yelling at the randoms for
being so stupid and worthless

Thats harsh. Going into pugs you
should know that some are bad. Yelling at them does not change anything
also calling them worthless.

I don't know, if I don't have a mic in and I play a game where someone is such ****e they cause my eyes to want to pop out of my head, I'll put my mic in just to belittle them. There's a point when even the ****tiest player should be able to step back and be like, "Wow, this isn't working maybe I should grab a piece of cover, or something so I'm not being revived ever 15 goddamn seconds", some pugs are just too stupid to understand such a simple concept, that gets people killed far more than if you sit behind cover and get no kills but go down rarely. I much prefer someone who doesn't go down and has crap for points than someone who's getting points but I and the other pugs have to go out and pick their stupid ass up ever 20 seconds or so. Those people need to be belittled, they need to feel bad, the deserve to feel bad, and by the Goddess, they should feel bad. I'll make it so.

I bet if I bought a PS 3 mic, it would work better than the one I have now for the Xbox. Because it couldn't be worse. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/tongue.png[/smilie]

Our mics are kind of ****e aren't they, I prefer the package normal ****ty MS ones over the expensive ones like Turtle Beach, they work just fine for me, my first one lasted like 5 years before it started getting too tore up to work properly.

pugs would not be able to handle the awesomeness that is my voice.
Also Mass Effect is really bad at picking up my mic, while most other software can pick up anything in the room.

Im often told that my mic makes me sound like I'm under water. Only on ME3 though. When called on it, I tell people I am actually Aquaman. My mic doesn't seem to have issues on other games though.

All hail your beautiful golden mullet.

@Cyonan You get to be "calming" and
"seductive" and I'm just under water. No fair bro, no fair. Good for you
though. Maybe one day... Lol

I get called a gay boy, a little kid, and a guy all the time. People are confused by my sex all the time, which is just fine, it amuses me sometiems, makes me rather self concious though but anyways.

I like to use the mic when someone else uses it first because I'm a pathetic coward. Also because I don't like the feeling that I'm just talking to myself.
I like to give people a count of how many seconds it'll take for me to get to their bodies.

When dealing with bad team members, I'll remind them that there's a hack or an escort we're doing right now, or when people early in an advanced wave won't gel when you know they've got them.

+18!

Awesome.  I do the same count down on my way to revive someone... Gives them an idea of how long it'll take me, and may help them from blowing a gel if I'm near by (sucks when you gel, just as someone arrives to revive).  I also appreciate when they let me know what kind of a mob their burried under while I'm on my way.

Communication is much appreciated.

Depends. I always use a mic with n00bs. And to warn people when we're getting rear-ended or flanked by Phantoms. Noone likes an unexpected Phantom up their arse. And, finally, when people are refusing to use Goddamned missiles and we're getting crushed. Also sometimes just to be annoying.

It's exciting too isn't it!? Running towards their body saying you can be there in 5-8 seconds or so, so they can gauge if their timer will last that long.
or "I can see the guy who's walking up to execute you."
Just so they know they're safe from execution.

You're right about the intel about what killed them, I like to hear it too. When there's a phantom nearby or some possessed captain ready to gun you down when you go and save people it just helps.

Genreally the people you run into are respectful, some people are just rude so laugh at them after you outscore them (being a very good player that you are) "oh look a girl's better than you at the game."

Oh, I know I can easily outscore the average pug. But I don't stick around to help earn credits after comments like that though. If it's not fun, I'm out.

Lol some lil weenie was giving you back lip kj, hope you enjoyed his delicious tears haha!B)

I try to talk to people, but here's how it usually goes.

Me: "Hey man, what's up? Ready to kick some ass?"

*click of the mic being unplugged*

Me: "Well screw you too man!"

I use TeamSpeak or Skype when I'm playing with friends and push-to-talk when I'm playing with PUGs. In the latter case I generally restrict myself to saying thanks when I'm revived but sometimes I add in pertinent bits of information, e.g. suggesting that trying to hold the LZ during extraction on Goddess may not be the best idea.

Hahaha, if you actually said all of that over the mic. While playing, I'd be a giggling wreck.

I use my mic almost all the time, even on PUGs. What I do when with strangers is pull out my cellphone and use soundboard apps to do the talking for me. Duke nukem says you guys suck! Nuffsaid lol
