my actions speak louder than my words.

from experience, i can tell when a situation is going to go pear-shaped, so instead of warning someone about the second banshee, i'll just pull out a rocket. same with rezzing people, or kiting enemies off a device disable objective.

hell, even with friends, i don't talk much in-game. unfortunately, i can't shoot the breeze and shoot enemies at the same time... :P

Only to say I won't rescue those who don't help out with group objectives.

My voice is reserved for friends. Every one else has to prove they are worthy if they want to be serenaded.

I bet you have a voice like liquid honey!

Only the irish do, only the irish.

As for the question.  I start with my mic unnattached however if others in the group are chatty I will often mic up and talk and if I get sync killed I will often mic up to be an extra set of eyes, especially if there is only one player soloing the wave.

I have yet to figure out why my mic does not work for ME3 MP. So, I can't talk to PUGs or friends at all.

PC user?

If you have your mic unplugged before launching ME3, then it's not going to work. At least that's how it is in my case.

Origin sucks

I might listen to PUGs if they seem to be sensible, but I won't talk. Hell, I rarely talk to friends. I just have nothing to say really.

Once I'm in my own apartment, I'll have the mic on and talk whenever.

Doesn't mean I won't come in with mic muted, anyway. O:

If PUGs have the luxury of playing with me in a lobby of friends they can hear my voice and my crude/immature sense of humor. But if it's just me and PUGs I don't use a mic. I feel like an idiot talking to myself or to people who can't respond.

I wish we could mute people though. Lots of times on PS3 people with mics seem to think that their headset is an ipod and blast music or they have really crappy mics and I can't understand what they're saying even though their voice is really loud.

I always have the mic on in pugs. I have run into some good friends because we both had mic in pug matches. I have played hundreds of matches with them, so yeah, it might be worth it to find just a couple more people to play with.

I keep mine plugged in on the off chance someone else wants to coordinate.
That being said I've heard people talk in PUGs maybe three times.

Have a good mic/headset from speech recognition software on my pc.

I use it sometimes. I think people should talk more - if they dislike an action, or can do faster pizza delivery or have an infiltrator that can disable targets completly camouflaged. Communication makes cooperation easier.

Sometimes I talk to PUGs, usually to thank people when they save my ass and call out enemy positions. They don't talk back often, and when they do it's in Russian half the time. I haven't been insulted or told to get back in the kitchen yet, so I guess I'm lucky. Made a few friends, too, which is awesome.

I've found that PUGs are more likely to come out of their shell if you bring a friend along. It's easier to jump in when there's already two people chatting and having fun, I think.

No. I remember yesterday when I was playing a PUG Platinum game, these under N7 500's were talking to each other about the game. Saying the most mundane, simple things. One of them was explaining to the other how the Krogan Warlord worked, for example. Even though neither were playing as him. Then the guy explaining started to talk out of his ass, talking about how he didn't like how I was playing. He kept going down on Wave 2, and rage gelling, specifying that he doesn't trust PUGs to pick him up. Eventually he gets grabbed and I'm the only one left. There are two Banshees left. The dude tells me to missile, and I purposely ignore him because at this point I want to ****** him off. The other guy suggests I don't have any because I don't have a missile launcher on my back - proving how novice they are. Took the first one out, then purposely got grabbed whilst looking for my mic. I said: "If you wanted me to take that last Banshee out, you could have spoken with more respect and with less idiocy, go back to Gold." And left triumphant.

Since then I've extracted Platinum 15 times in a row. Clearly I was the problem!

Since this implies you got yourself killed and are in spectator mode you should just STFU and let them clutch how they choose to. If you want something rocketed then maybe you should stay alive and do it yourself... Image IPB

I hardly ever with PUGs and always with friends. Normally if I do turn on my mic it is just to help people quick (like if other people with mics are confused about something, if someone is using a mod that doesn't work with a certain gun, etc.)

Totally true for me at least, if there are two people already chatting it up I tend to open up and enjoy the matches more.

Sometimes. I often have it in in case someone decides to talk, and sometimes I'll tell people not to worry about reviving, that I'll get myself up in a second. If an area's overrun, I don't want anyone dying trying to rez my stupid ass.
