I've always got mine on. As I hop in and out of PUG lobbies I'll sometimes find someone or a few who do communicate. Rarely I'll find that one fool who's got a bad mic, music on, or other noise. If I don't have a chance to mute them, I'll just turn my mic off.

Overall though, I leave it in. Even if the other PUGs aren't talking it doesn't prevent me from giving a sitrep or advice.

Sometimes, when things go wrong for the pug players and always on extraction in a friendly manner, if someoneelse in the pug is talking then yes I will mic up, otherwise I remain silent until asked:)

Yes. You never know when you might run into an interesting person, even though I don't pug often.

I always have a mic connected, but PUGs don't usually have any.

Unless i'm in a Skype call with friends, I'm always on the Mic. Whether or not I actually speak varies from game to game, but i'm always at least listening.

If I have to actually hop on to give people advice/tell them whadafuq they're doing wrong, they typically listen do to a combination of me always being 40k above the second place guy's score, and sounding like a 40 year old 6"5 tall chain smoker.

Why not? Kind of hard to make friends and meet new players if you don't have your mic in. Anybody you don't want to hear just mute them or leave the game.

Honestly people in general are much more friendly in the game's matchmaking compared to the individuals who pollute these forums. Send someone an invite they typically accept and talk along with inviting you to their games and the magic of networking occurs. Attempt to add friends on BSN without a pair of boobs and you'll get flamed and trolled.

oh, oh!

i forgot, the main time i get on mic during pub games is to yell at people trying to kite that last banshee while various other enemies chip them down

i have to remind them to USE THE DAMN ROCKET.

Since this implies you got yourself killed and are in spectator mode you should just STFU and let them clutch how they choose to. If you want something rocketed then maybe you should stay alive and do it yourself... Image IPB

or, if i got grabbed rezzing their sorry ass, i'm just gonna yell at them.

With random groups, I don't begin speaking unless spoken to.

If people are speaking, I may join in. If I was insta-killed, I may try and give someone a warning if they are tunnel visioning/focusing in one direction. Other than that, I only chat with friends via team speak. I greatly dislike the ingame chat quality.

Usually if my mic says its on i'm in party chat. also, the massive amount of Kinect mics make me just go into my own party alone just to not hear them, stupid no in-game easy mute system.

No.

The few times I have spoken in a PUG I've been met with silence.

That is of course until another game where one of the members of the team speaks up and everyone hears a female speaking in which case everyone starts talking.

Jeeessssuuuuswhyyyy.

I'm usually in an Xbox party with my friends. If a squaddie proves themselves to be good with teamwork I'll send them a party invite to enhance it

I figure my mouth breathing would be soothing in a Zen kind of way like the sound of waves gently caressing the beach thereby helping the team get in the zone. So, I keep my mic close and open. The team also gets to hear my profuse cursing and hollering every time the enemy cheats me. But, I figure that's invigorating and blood curdling in all the right ways.

No I am busy trying to kill the enemy not to socialize with randoms. I do not always talk to my friends either when I do not feel well.
