ha thought this was a complaint thread eh!:D

Anyway here's my question do you mic up with playing with PUGS? Me nope I don't do it anymore, only my friends have the pleasure of hearing me cuss and talk nonsense.<3 So BSN do you bother if you have a mic?

Only a goon doesn't use their mic on GOLD/PLAT.  Communication is key (4 guys all rocket the same spot at the same time, nobody warns of that Banshee about to grab the player, no one says "no worries I'm gellin", etc.).  Sooner or later this community is going to shrink, start talking and "friend up" now.

THIS IS ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS PEOPLE HAVE ISSUES WITH PUGS!

No gotta disagree with you about Gold, don't need a mic to be successful. Better to look at your teams loadout in lobby before you decide to play with em or not. On Plat though I only attempt that with friends, I'm not wasting time or gear Puggin' that one.

This. Gold doesn't require team play, and neither does Platinum if you're REALLY good. I just Volus my way through anything and everything until there's nothing left to kill, team mates be damned.

*rolls eyes*

O.k. there Ramboo.  Makes me wonder why you bother playing with a "team" at all.  Really, you should just solo instead, that's what real Ramboo-boos do.  :P

Nope, GOLD doesn't require a mic or "team play", it just makes sub 19 minute GOLD matches possible even with a PUG group.  Keep doin what yer doin tho.

You want me to hop onto my mic and try and convince and teach PS3 PUGs? LOL.

No, i'll continue to drag them through games kicking and screaming instead of trying to "work together" with them.

Always have it on with friends. With PUGs, it's 50/50. Depends on if I'm in the mood to talk.

Only once has someone asked if I was a boy or girl. Most seem able to tell that I am not, in fact, a prepubescent male.

Most common thing I hear from the female gamers in my FL: Mistaken for a teenaged boy.

Apparently, I originally endeared myself to a couple of them, by having not asked tham a) if they're a girl, B) how old they are, or c) anything else that would sound just as dumb if I asked a random person I'm gaming with.

The man has a point.

Personally, I don't bother with my mic during PUGs anymore. There are several reasons. The foremost being that people I don't know get on my nerves and make dumb comments/jokes :]

Yup, there's far too much of that on the XBOX.  Be original, break the mold, run with a mic.  :D

I've taken to talking my freinds into game chat when we play with RANDOMS now.  Give people a chance, the community is only going to shrink from here on out.

Think about it.

Being anti-social is not a disorder and no meds exist to make someone social. Although alcohol had been called social lube.

Funny, nobody's ever asked me a) in this game. I got B) a few times but never right away. I never get personal question until I befriend someone and play several times with them. I'm even usually the first to ask "where are you from ?" since it's relevant to the game. As for c), it's really rare and mostly by text chat.
I must have been really lucky with the people I've met in this game so far.

Wish I had my mic turned on last night. Finally got to play with Crimson by random chance when I joined a game in progress. I hadn't equipped any gear or bonuses... My poor talon was naught but phantom bait. Just sad. If my mic was on I would have apologized for that being our first game. Sorry Crimson.

it would help People you never met, to judge you and what you have done in a video game.
and possibly grab the attention of Idiots that need the approval of other idiots by Mocking someone over the internet?

my how technology has evolved.

On topic:
as for mics, I don't Bother with them in Pugs. I don't need to hear other peoples "Choice" in Music or to hear the echo of the game or my favorite Little kids spotting gibberish or saying "man lets go play CoD" (that happened ONCE, and I am still laughing about it.)

I use mics only with the Folks on my Buddy list stupid enough to still squad up with me.

I'll play... o.k., whats having a "private profile" accomplish?  About the same thing not talking on the mic while playing a coop game accomplishes. Diddly.

That said in fairness I'm likely the person you're trying to avoid on the mic in the first place...  Ie. getting on yer nerves, etc.

Allrighty then, point taken.  Anyone for a slice of slightly over whipped dead horse (my Euro friends say it's delish)? ^_^

I don't usually talk to pugs since most of them don't respond - unless its a situation where a Juggernaut is still at the other side of the map 30 secs before extraction and I need to yell at him to come to the LZ. Playing with friends is a totally different thing - great cooperation plus the fun and smalltalk in/inbetween games.

Lol don't worry I wasn't in top form in that game, I was drafted into that game also, playing with my Volus engi and I'm still very average with him. Some guy sent me a msg in game, don't tell me how to play random so I bailed pretty quick after that game. Sorry bout that but hope to catch you again soon, I can't host though.;)

Wait a minute... I think my mamma usta say: "son, don't talk to PUGs"!

Seriously, the community (further subdivided by platform) is what you make it. Ask yourself what it is you don't like about PUGs (awful lot of complaining going on about PUGs), and if that's something that could be improved by communication?

*plugs in mic, and queues loud @ss GRIND METAL, followed by ABBA "dancing Queen" on repeat*

Someone messaged you to tell you how to play? Was it the Juggernaut that needed constant revives? Or the other guy who would Rambo in a corner and bleed out? Lol. OT though, I wil turn my mic on in a PUG after a few games if the lobby is good and someone else turns one on.

I think it was the guy who topped the scoreboard, hate that I'm a pretty chill person. Even when I'm in games that go pearshaped I never lecture/insult people and we got a full extraction in that game last night, strange.
