Its because of the score system the reason people do so many dumb things in game is because of the score system. Seems like if a score system rewards you for being an idiot and hurting your team mates then the score system is flawed.

How is personally removing 2/3 of every wave budget hurting my teammates?  Aside from maybe their egos, I mean.

Ein, I think the general consensus among people here is that if people can't play the game on some difficulty without resorting to hiding in a single box and exploiting a glitch in the AI, they should play on a lower difficulty. Platinum is supposed to be the most demanding difficulty. There's nothing wrong with new players sticking to difficulties that are designed around newer players.

Is there something wrong with that assessment?

Yes, there is something wrong with that assessment. You should stick to Bronze, because you yourself are an obvious scrub.=]

:crying:

Kicked right in the epeen.

Wouldn't be a problem if the lower difficulties didn't vastly underpay...

Yeah, well your so-called "Escape Route", must be sure it is empty and not crawling with enemies. You have to make sure there's no enemies attempting to flank you.

Oh... <_<

Here I was, making my weekly or bi-monthly contribution, and within a page of my post whatever discussion was present completely deteriorates. All thanks to, in essence, one troll/thick-headed poster. Keep it real, BSN. Keep it real.

I guess it depends on individual play style and what character you are using . The Soldiers and Vanguards and any grenade user are going to be chasing spawns/enemies so if you are a player taking cover and waiting for enemies there is a good chance that few ,if any, will arrive.
Not "against" anyone holding a position . Play as you want and have fun.

I have nothing against it, but if you die, don't expect me to come revive you.

It's also boring.

Personally I enjoy running and gunning.

If it cost's me all of my equipment to do that, so be it.

I am not affraid to use a gel or a rocket or pop an ops pack (even if it doesn't work), so that I may challenge myself and have a fun game.

If my teammates perfer to hold a position, I have no problem with that, so long as they aren't leeching.

since when does maxing your manifest imply anything about competence? paying off credit-wise if manifest is the only thing that matters.

some of us like to have fun. and practice being good at the game.

oh yes! using armored compartment killing the spawns to finish a platinum game in under 10 min sounds very fun and they certain are very good at the game. yes you are so right sir

ETA: ever notice that campers get really, really defensive about whether they have any competency?

Heh. Camping joke.

People hate camping because they are secretly dragoons. Dragoons hate everything. Thusly, I conclude that elitist dragoons post on BSN. I have no evidence, but the evidence is clear.

most gamers that does high score thing actually think highly of their own, instead of thinking for their own team.

as for Slayin, my 501st Destroyers are original name i came up when Socom 4 came out. so, it's ORIGINAL name that i came up with, not yours. everyone can be original regardless of circumstances that might concern the old school names and new school names with same names. my 501st Destroyers were created in June 2011 compared to your own 10 years old brand name.

I like to wander around the map, hate sticking in one spot, very boring. Much more fun running around hunting.

"Stop camping!"

God forbid the team use a little strategy rather than just running around all the time, with teammates usually getting picked off as they get off on their own and get flanked.

But seriously.  It's my habit to find a good defendable position, with an escape route, then hold up there fighting the incoming hordes (Objectives aside, obviously) until i'm forced to move.

What is "bad" about that, exactly?  Are people just too impatient to hold still for more than 10 seconds, or what?  It's not like it takes any longer to kill enemies, now they all funnel straight to you rather than having to run around chasing them as they scatter.

Now I mean, I personally don't like constantly running around the map, but if other people do, so be it, i'll just factor them in and keep tabs on them.

But that tolerance doesn't seem to go in the other direction.  I've had pugs run up and start trying to shoot me for staying in one position, yelling "stop camping, scrub" or some noobish comment like that.

Your thoughts?

A large chunk of the community seems to think that the game quality is solely determined my match duration, and that people who make the game take longer by playing defensively are therefore anathema.

Personally, I think that if you're rushing spawns and killing enemies before they can spread out or attack you, you're defeating the purpose of the game, but this kind of belief isn't exactly popular on BSN, where the prevalent attitude is that anyone who won't nuke spawns doesn't deserve to play Silver, let alone Gold or Platinum.

Everybody started by camping. Then you get good enough that it becomes unnecessary. People can progress at their own speed. Im just not campin out with ya. No bigs.

I prefer being more aggressive and taking out the trash quickly. The best defense is a good offense.

You do not give the enemy time to spread out and possibly flank you. Especially against Combat Engineers on Wave 7 against Cerberus or there will be turrets everywhere gunning your teammates.

Depends on my kit.

Destroyer with a Revenant on a fairly open map? Yep, I'll set up shop in a spot with decent cover and provide suppression fire for everyone else without moving much until the bosses start getting personal.

Batarian with a Raider? Not so much.
