TheProtheans you don't believe in straight girls or gay guys. You clearly don't know the human race very well. That or you have severe mental problems.

I believe in them, there is just not very many of them.

I just reported it as hate speech, couldn't think of a way of explaining it. Thread will probably get locked if this um, "discussion" continues.

That's a hard one to comprehend.

Then you structure arguements poorly and don't know how to use quote marks. Also you're wrong heterosexual is statistically the majority on both sides.

Yes, your posts are so bad they're immune to facts and logic.

Dude, what part of "do not feed the trolls" do you not understand? He's obviously a troll (I helpfully underlined the part of his post which I consider an absolute giveaway). Just ignore him.

You can't spell arguments.
You don't understand what "straight" even means.

Sorry. It's a sensitive issue and sadly there are people like him in real life.

I agree that FemSheps who made those choices (Alenko dead, Garrus not romanced) were left short of options in terms of guys. Probably because the devs looked at their metadata, saw that 90% (made up number, but you get my point) of straight FemSheps did one of those two romances, and decided to concentrate their resources elsewhere :P

That sounds likely.

It has been said that many players struggle to complete even one playthrough. And the majority of them seems not to romance anyone. Romance are optional and you can play without romancing anyone.

Edit: Makes me wonder: Is Tali's romance limited, too?

You have to rememeber the vast majority of the playerbase is not supercrazy like BSN. Oftentimes it seems BSN wants a dating sim instead of an actual game:?

Tali's romance, limited how? I find the fact she joins the party so very late in the game quite frustrating personally.

Alienate isn't the word I'd use. More like the girls got pushed aside in exchange for " Reaching wider audiences" Jacob turned walking sterotype, 7/9 LI options were lez so if you didn't romance Garrus or Kaiden you got girls all the way like some bad movie, Vega...oh Vega an insubordinating, walking sexual harassment lawsuit, who can't find a uniform...yeah progress is lovely.

But really girls never were much of a priority since ME2 while the ME script was always written for a man they never placed fshep into obvious male situations and allowed her to do the same outcomes ie use all her magical bronze and none of her actual brain. ME2 had her going butch several times including her boxing yahgs and sitting like a man the whole game! ME3 just cemented BWs wish fshep would've been born as mshep by giving her nearly only women LI options, but also making her move like a man and giving her the "charming" nickname of Lola.

It sucks because ME's fshep started out as being a pretty good role model for girls but BW changed that so far it's still Ripley as #1. Game developers just aren't interested in making woman strong, capable, and powerful without making them butch.

Well, it is true that women are substantially more likely than men to identify as bisexual, but your claim that the numbers of straight Women match the numbers of gay man is still ridicules.

Psh, romances suck any way you look at them. It's not like the male romances are any better. And Liara is pretty much only romance that has had some work put into it.

I said it is probably similar, I'm not claiming that it is the same or similar.

Yes I have to agree I feel pretty shafted when it comes to romances in this trilogy, it actually reduces the replay value. The only romance that is well done is Kaidan and then Jacob's was written so poorly and now you're telling me that Vega is now a 'romance' but is done just as bad as Jacob's?

I think those who are writing the female romances should be required to read romance novels, I know we had several threads in the past where we listed which romances we preferred, apparently these discussions were completely ignored.

Well, yes I disagree, but just out of curiosity, are you Male or Female?

Oh yes OT
I think that Bioware treated the Female Players much better than many, if not all, other Game developers.  Could they do better? Yes of course. But Looking at the way they improved in addressing the LGBT community, I think they will.

Okay, this stuff about straight vs. lesbian woman is a derail and off topic, other than as it relates to available romance options in the game. The point is, for a straight woman, I can see how the choices are much more limited. Asari are described as female, but able to partner with any species and any gender. We are lead to believe that they do not have issues with this. In fact, they have more issues with partnering with another Asari. That's all social science fiction.

Point remains is I wonder how many straight men would have a romance with Liara if Liara looked like a mostly human man with a big, build up, powerlifting chest. Hmmn? Exactly the same number? The point is regardless of your sci fi background, your game is meant to appeal to actual human people, you know? That includes women and men gamers, right? Fanservice for women is there, but seems to be a lot less to me. Yes, enough to bring it up.

It is a part of the culture and nature, female relationships are always closer.
As such females get better romances in ME, only a few females don't.

In reality there is no such thing as a "straight girl".
"Straight girls" are probably similar in number to "Gay" guys.

Garrus.

Thank gawd for that turian, because his romance is completely fantastic.

I am vindictive and petty, so I'd like to see some of the male PC's female love interests be burdened with the shht we've had to deal with; the forums would be a sh!tstorm if Miranda always died in Sanctuary or Jack leaves you for another Grissom Academy teacher, could you imagine?

Vega was wasted potential as a "sorry" for the ladies that got fcuked over with Thane & Jacob.  At least the Citadel DLC improved Thane's storyline to the point that my Thanemancer will stay loyal to his memory before killing herself to become a robot-God.

Wouldn't bother me at all.

Then again, I don't play the game for my space waifu:whistle:

That is not even a question, of course much less. The Problem is simple, there are much fewer female Players. A company will always focus at their target audience first.
But the numbers of female gamers are rising steadily, so the situation will improve over time anyway.

Vega just as bad? HAHA it's TERRIBLE and insulting

Some Female (male?) gamers (including me who is in love with Garrus) wanted a romance with Vega even if it's a small love scene instead we have the whole "I need to get drunk before i can sleep with you" wtf! The day a man says "I need to get drunk before i be with you" is the day were hell is heaven

Jacob Cheats and gets a girl prego BUT AT LEAST he doesn't have to be drunk to sleep with Shepard

That's not wrong, but there is one thing to consider.  Vega isn't getting drunk because he is not attracted to FemShep, he is getting drunk because he is.
