And then had a really hot NPC who refused the main character's advances.

Pretty sure its from the trailer for the new Cyberpunk 2077.
Jep, Cyberpunk 2077, the upcoming sci-fi RPG from the superior and better-than-BioWare RPG developer CD Projekt RED.

Kaidan *is* an option that maleshep gets, Garrus is only an option if A) he's still alive and

I think a big issue was that for 2 games they didn't have trouble letting femsheps have Male LI's to choose from. I would get the "but it's silly of you to expect them to cater to the MINORITY" thing if they hadn't already done so...twice. Options were taken away in ME3 but only for straight femsheps , that's what sucked. It's not like people are whining because donnelly didn't become a LI or something.

Kaidan *is* an option that maleshep gets, Garrus is only an option if A) he's still alive andhe was romanced in ME2, "better" is entirely subjective, and it's nice that you don't see an issue that doesn't actually affect you.
And Kaidan is only an option for maleShep in ME3 and only if he's still alive and didn't die on Virmire.
So seriously, stop pretending you're so much worse off than the manShep players here. You're not.

The original Mass Effect crewmates pretty much got the best content. Though I'm not too sure about Ashley. There's not a lot of praise for the handling of her romance, but there's not a lot of disdain either.
But yeah, people generally consider the most complete romances to be Liara, Garrus, Kaidan and Tali.

Well, in any case, I think we can all agree that Liara obviously is the canon LI and both ME2 and ME3 will continue to make sure we're reminded of that fact.

I think there were some complains about Ashley's romance in the Citadel was seen as too casual and not much different between romance and non-romance ones. There were a thread about a comparison between Ashley and Kaidan and there were some disappointments, mostly about the change on her personality though. I agree that those four have the most contents in ME3. Kaidan and Tali are my favorites. The Mad Hanar wrote...

Which actually gives the "main" romances a spread equal to DA:O; one straight and one bisexual character of each gender. The Mad Hanar wrote...

I think Liara has more contents simply because she's the only one who can't die during the trilogy. It doesn't mean that any other choices like Tali or Ashley are any less valid. As I recall, Bioware stated that there is no canon.Raanz wrote...
I think it would be better if people realized that Bioware's original story was male Shepard and Liara, everything else was just icing. Choices that didn't get as much attention. Not a big deal really, Ashley was my choice, but clearly, Liara is a mainstay in the trilogy.

Romanced Jacob in ME2. ME3 comes and Jacob dumps Femshep and already has another woman, and has her knocked up. And tells me, "Did you expect me to wait forever?" Uh, okay. 6 months? I guess he didn't even come visit when Shep was locked up.
Okay, fine. Whatever.
Annnndddd..that's it. For straight FemShep in ME3, after that you're forever alone. And then she dies.
Honestly I think Vega was meant to be an option, but they ran out of resources.
It was not cool.

Love it. Lol
Although if you think about it theyv'e already done that with femshep, garrus and perhaps Vega or Jacob. Cuz lets face it, from a human perspective a turian is pretty hideous.

Lol I'm sorry but kaiden is a p*ssy and garrus (bless him) looks like a praying mantis, and please don't use that crappy line of how love/beauty is not skin deep. The fact of the matter is that people are typically attracted to physical appearance initially.

I do feel bad for the girls, if they didn't save Kaiden all they got left is a bird like alien. Ouch.
Actually, that's not entirely accurate. To get the awesome dinosaur-birdman, you had to import an ME2 romance with him. So....yeah.
I didn't feel as much love from the Mass Effect team for my FemShep as I do from the Dragon Age team with my F!Warden or FemHawke.
Dragon Age just does it better.

Ha ha, Well, to be fair Morrigan is awkward as well. She just outright ends it right?
Dragon Age Origins seemed quite balanced and of course Dragon Age 2 was about as balanced as you can get.
Mass Effect 3 though is problematic in this respect. I know a lot of people place a lot of stock in the romances which I guess is why the "Citadel" dlc was so well received. I was always a little confused as to why a Tali/Garrus romance couldn't be instigated in Mass Effect 3.
After all, rejection doesn't stop Liara trying again. Got to admire that perseverance and "can do attitude" of hers.
