Let's face it: Femshep would break Joker if they ever made love.

She's got implants second grade only to Reaper upgrades, remember?

Not to mention, getting into a love triangle with your own ship would be bad...

But Joker can handle the robot... It must be true love.

Is it even arguable that straight Femsheps don't have worse options than straight Dudesheps? As another poster pointed out, it's entirely possible and very easy to have 0 romance possibilities with a straight Femshep, while straight Dudesheps have Liara (for a relationship) and Allers (for a fling) no matter what.

I mean... that's kinda crappy no matter how you look at it. And I don't think people want all the characters ever to be automatically romanceable, but it's reasonable to expect that if EVERY male LI is either going to be dead/otherwise unavailable, a new one be added in to make up for it. I mean, I don't see how this is difficult to understand? I'm a diehard Garrusmancer, so I've never had an issue with the ME3 LIs, but I wouldn't think it's helpful to just tell my fellow female gamers to just romance Garrus and get over it. They just want choices the way male gamers (or gamers who choose to play a straight male Shepard) get choices. Pretty reasonable, I think.

Yes. Yes it is.

I just assumed James would be romancable when I started!

I'm tired - I don't know what you're saying "Yes" to :P  But I also though James would be romanceable and was totally baffled that all the "Lola" this and "Lola" that petered out into a big fat nothing :(

I understand at least DAO did the romances alright 2 bi 1 straight

Fine if they removed Jacob i dont give a rats ass but if they are going to remove him at least add another I wanted to romance James Vega not rape the poor man and i find it insulting to have to get him drunk to sleep with him that is BULL****!!! and it STINK BAD!!!

I didn't really think about it for a while because i was on my Garrus Vakarian High but this thread open the failed romance balance that's been in locked inside my mind behind Garrus Pictures

Male Shepard can have 3 fleshed out 2 kind of fleshed out (and 1 more if you want to count allers) romances

Miranda
Jack
Tali
Liara
Ashley

three can only be accessed if you romance them in 2
He still have three possibilities and if you want a lot of content
Tali
Liara
Ashley

Liara can't die so at least he as one straight romance and if not Liara have fun with Allers

Fem Shep has
Garrus
Kaiden

Both who can die if the player wants it
Jacob leaves you and thane dies
you get a lot of content with Garrus and Kaiden but what if they died

If James was a FULL BLOWN ROMANCE (not some weird drunk one night stand) thats fine

and Femshep would have one straight romance

But she didn't so I, as a straight female, am pissed and insulted

Think of it this way

If you romance thane and Kaiden is dead You only have les romances
If you romance Jacob and Kaiden is dead you only have les romances

If you romance Miranda you can romance Miranda or Liara or Ashley if Ashely is dead Miranda or Liara (or allers)
If you romance Tali you can romance Tali or Liara or Ashley if ashley is dead Tali or Liara ( or allers)
If you romance Jack you can romance Jack or Liara or ashley if ashley is dead Jack or Liara (or allers)

Male shep is never forced into Gay Romances unless the player hate Liara ( i mean i do but MANY don't) or allers

I don't get this. BioWare is one of the better company's for female gamers, sure they messed up but they didn't do it on purpose and they will most likely take feedback and try to improve for future games.

And it's not even just the lack of romances, it's the way it seems like they mock you for even trying to romance males.

Asking Joker about getting together gets that awkward chain of cammond bs.
Asking James if the flirting is going anywhere leads to his weird duh... response.
Asking Jacob to continue the romance makes him treat you like your the man stealing ****.

It's like it's designed to make you feel bad and rejected for dareing to be born with a vagina...

Seriously, rejected by Joker for a super hot robot! That's gotta burn...

I would have loved to play that love triangle!

Stealing Joker or EDI from the other one would have been a great option to have!

Right now I am modding Thane to show up in the memorial scene alive, meaning he doesn't die. Progress is going along well.
I might do something for Jacob depending on how many people want it.

We women have to face the facts. EA has the numbers. We are clearly in the minority making up about 28% of the gaming population.

The games are designed for the majority male population. Young males. Straight, Gay, or Bi.

And I'm guessing they figure that the majority of the 28% from polls are either lesbian or bi so that's the way they design the games. <_<

This has been a sore spot for years. We get tossed a bone of being able to play a female protagonist. They use a male body model for Sheploo, none for femShep, then finally design Anorexic FemShep form the final installment.

So relationshipwise, they signed Ashley's death warrant on Virmire.

Well anorexic femShep had to beat James' pull up record just because it looked ridiculous because someone with her build wouldn't even be able to do a pull up.

It's not just Mass Effect. It's the video gaming industry in general that needs a big wake up call. 28% is pretty sad. That means there is a huge untapped market. It means game companies don't have a clue how to market games to women.

I primarily play as FemShep, the only reason i play as MShep is for Tali, and im slightly annoyed at FemSheps LI treatment. Im just wondering why Sam didn't get a goodbye on Earth while Cortez did.

GayShep has the same amount of LIs as straight femshep... and then we get recycled dialogue.

I sure hope so. I'm tired of listening to women PMS'ing over how they're not treated equally. They should just go play Cooking Mama, or some **** like that. Video games with killin' 'n' **** are for 14-year-old boys and manly men.
