I recently bought ME1 for the xbox, which turned out to be a huge disappointment, especially coming from the same company that did a great job with Dragon Age 2. I thought for sure DA2 can't be anywhere near as enjoyable on a console as the original one was on the PC, but it turns out you can in fact make the controls and UI of such a "computery" rpg adequate for the consoles. "Can" being an important word there since ME was exactly the opposite. I'm thinking of giving the sequels a try, but only if they've improved the UI a lot, particularly:

- I understand you still can't directly control your team mates, but can you at least jump into their shoes while paused to issue orders from their point of view (essentially just for the purpose of targeting enemies the main character can't see with the team mate's abilities)?
- Can you toggle the friggin pause instead of having to hold the button down? Whoever was responsible for not including this option for ME1 should be shipped over to Bethesda to build their UIs with the other 7 year olds.
- Can you order team mates to move somewhere without having to unpause the game?
- Any other major improvements they've made specifically to the controls and combat that might manage to keep me interested long enough to finish the game next time?

me is not da :P

that aside me2 was before da2 an you could sort of say da2 gameplay sort of copied me2

me2 is as different from me1 as da2 was from origins in combat style, i actually prefered da2 combat to origins tbh

you cant take control of squad m8s, but yes you can order them to move to positions while moving an no you cant pause unless your issuing orders which pauses until yes you let go of the order button

Combat is hugely improved from me1, some dont like the improvements most do

Most consider me2 to be the best game of the series, take that as you want :P

Sounds like all the stuff that made the game unplayable to me are still in then, since I want proper control of my team in games like this, and I sure as hell aren't interested in holding a button down for friggin 30 seconds every time I wanna think about what to do (which signals to me that there really isn't much thinking in combat this time either or I'm sure the devs would see the necessity for a toggled pause as well). Oh well, I guess there's hope with DA3. Thanks for the feedback.
