Yes because... the Hex Shield is completely inpenetrable... neither players nor enemies can walk through it.

I don't even know why I'm wasting my time responding to you... you're the type of person whose mind will ever be changed, even if you're hideously wrong.

Your charge is basically using HM as a primary offensive weapon. Correct? I don't. Nor do I use a shield. So hideously wrong? Negative. Your opinion is yours, mine is mine. Why risk getting blasted by Scions or Ravagers standing still when I can move, regen and use soft cover and have a mobile tech primer.

Why move to soft cover when I can put one down wherever I want?

Thank you.

Moving around to cover is not Juggy's strong suit.

Also... on-host tonight, the shield was working at blocking Ravager shots... didn't play a Collectors game though.

Also x2... the pets are terribad FE primers.

Tried your build on Platinum today. It is excellent.

Apart from the fact that PUG teammates like to kill my Large Shield, as usual.

I think the essence of your strategy is to use the Hex Shield to separate enemies into manageable portions, instead of blocking all incoming fire per se.

Yeah. I get what mega is saying and I'd probably use the shield if shots didn't pass right through the damned thing.

Here are some pointers the way i use him:

Specced hex shield fully, last evolution is a bigger shield.

Siege pulse: damage, damage reduction, and damage to shields, barriers, armor, health (this siege pulse is excellent)

no turret.

AI: all weapon damage

Fitness: max everything for shields.

I didnt went for the final siege pulse evolution namely 40% damage reduction instead i went with the 60% damage to shields barriers etc. This still nets you 30% damage reduction. If you use a power amplifyer module 3 or 4 then the siege pulse becomes a beast...

The way to play him more agressively is for example Cerberus faction

Centurion = one siege pulse to stagger him and strips his shields i then finish him of with my Spitfire.

Nemesis = one or 2 siege pulse same as above

Dragoon = one or two siege pulses and finish with spitfire.

Phantom's = start firing spitfire so she will dance fire siege pulse to K.O. her either fire my siege or spitfire depends on the situation. Or simply one siege pulse so she put up her bubble then proceed to melee her. If you want the kill strip her barriers and let her lose she will drop to the ground start pounding her with either siege or my spitfire.

Atlas = spam siege pulse all three of them and keep supressing fire with the spitfire recharge your siege and do it again if you equip incidiary ammo this will net you fire explosions, for some nice damage. Atlas goes down quick when spamming siege and equiped power amplifyer.

Hex shield i hardly use but in moments of dire need when you take to much fire its good to use it specialy if you put it up tactically or in circle uploads. Turret imo gives pitty shields 550 i think when you look at his overall shields 4600 i did used the turret and died more then with the full hex shield.

There comes a time when your surrounded by enemies then its obviously you wont use your siege as a offinsive way but defensively (30% damage reduction) and keep meleeing till support comes.

I found this setup better suited for my playstyle which is offensive its so much fun when you see a crowd of enemies and start shooting siege pulse all three of them and fire your spitfire they will flatline quickly. The moment i know enemies are surrounding me or close il use the siege for damage reduction and put up my shield. Even dragoons are a joke when they have to eat siege pulses.

I find the Spitfire effective on the Jug as long as you use it with the siege either go with armor piercing ammo or incidiary but always use a armor piercing mod on the spitfire. If you want to be more offensive i highly recommend using "power amplifyer module 3 or 4" for even more damage inflicted by siege pulse.

Always use siege pulse whenever you can meaning spam it until you need it for damage reduction.

I saw to many Jugs who hardly use siege pulse to their advantage its his only way of dealing good to massive damage, considering that enemies with shields or barriers are hard to kill with just your weapon as "support or tank class"  The siege pulse used as an offensive tool will help you greatly in killing enemies it staggers to kill them easily it also strips their shields and barriers as well as health and armor i use it as much as possible (spam spam) and in between supressing fire with the spitfire until i can recharge my pulse.

Hope this helps

That's a great way to say it... yes. Thanks. Kind of like an isolation strategy...

What it lacks vs Scions... it totally makes up for against Possessed Praetorians. Blocking entire salvos of Eye Sperm and Eye Lazors... yes please.

It still works against Scions half the time...

Does a vanilla praetorian's melee barrage out-DPS the Juggernaut's ability to regain shields using HM on gold even when specced into Power Transfer for the 6th evo in fitness?

Timely post OP. Have been thinking of taking the Jug for a run but in every game I have played in the Jug user has got in everyones way and added little to the team. Your approach looks much better . Will try this out

Does Hex Shield benefit from Cyclonic Modulators?

Since it benefits from Hardened Platform (Fitness), I'm hoping this is the case.

Otherwise, for Hex Shield rank 4, Shield Strength may be a better option than Pulse, especially on Platinum where enemies are hardly affected by the Pulse anyway.

Hmm, an interesting way to play him.

I've screwed with the Hex shield, but since most of the time I play off-host (or maybe the shield just works this way), I've found it unreliable in most situations.

I am however experimenting with different weapons on the Juggy and coming up with positive results. Even with my wonky build (0/6/6/6/6 with the -15% damage evo), I'm still finding decent damage potential.

I disagree with the turret being useless though, but then again, I prefer to play with a balance of power and weapons. The turret is a decent primer which can be detonated via siege pulse, which has the benefit of stuttering what hits you in melee rather than being forced to heavy melee, giving room for your CQC shotgun to work its magic. Since the Juggy is so slow, having the turret to throw to see where enemies are is a big help on larger maps, and used as a 'grenade', it really does help. I am definitely going to rethink my build a bit because while -15% damage doesn't interfere too much, it is still a bit of a drawback, even if the extra shielding does save my butt repeatedly. I just hate the idea of playing a Geth Prime and -not- having siege pulse, given how fun the move is.

Still screwing with weapons. The crusader is a REALLY good mid-range weapon on the jugg, and his great shielding really lets you line up the shot. Having tons of fun with the Kishock though, the thing's freakin' fun (just a pity it doesn't -quite- one-shot gold pyros).

I specced Mine for a pure Melee Build, but mainly for having Fun in Silver.
It's awesome with Mods like Strength Enhancer III, Adrenaline Module +25% and Juggernaut Shield V.
GPS with Omni-Blade and

Hex Shield: Pulse / Shock / Synergy /// (+10% more Dmg plus nuking those pesky Husks/Abos and gives other Players a Base for Tech Bursts)
Siege Pulse: Dmg / Protection / Add. Charge /// (obviously)
Turret: Shlds&Dmg / Amr Dmg / Flame /// (To keep Enemies busy until You stomp up to'em)
Juggernaut: 0
Hard. Platform: Durability / MoveSpeed / Squad Command /// (Durability for some extra Shields)

With Adr. Mod You storm over the Map and speed-Heavy-Melee everything in Your Way, actually never running out of Shields and get Your +10 MoveSpeed Bonus.

Hell of a Fun in Silver. xD
Haven't tested it in Gold, tho, seems a bit risky.

Wonky? For shame. Image IPB

This is how I run him on Plat with a Spitfire (heavy barrel, omni blade). I have the turret set up for full damage and hide it near me so its not easily shot down, but close enough that I can back into it while doing HM for turret damage. Once shields are back up, I let go and send a siege pulse setting off that blistery FE. Yeah baby.

Hm... nah, I think I'll stick with my 66606 build. Haven't failed a Platinum match with my build once.

My restoration-specced turret helps keep my teammates into the fight (and out of cover, allowing them to apply sustained fire for longer), and my durable large shield primes for tech bursts; combined with my max fitness (not everyone gets Cyclonic Modulators and level IV consumables on a regular basis), I'm capable of taking on the aggro of almost every enemy on the map.

In short, I have my way of being effective with the Juggernaut, just as you have yours.

I couldn't care less about the -15% damage reducton; mods and consumables do more than enough to make up for it. He's capable of killing enemies, but compared to other classes, he's far from a DPS machine. I'd rather build upon what he excels at the most, instead of what other classes can do better.
